5 out of 5 eggsThis thing is awesome

Pros: Easily OC'd from the basic 3.3 to 3.8 with stock fan. 6 freaking cores. Until recently this was doing higher benchmarks then the other CPUs in the same price rang, but now not so much. What do you expect it is almost 3 years old inside my computer, imagine others that bought it when it first came out!

Cons: Discontinued :-( also starting to get outdated, but should last a couple more years until needing to upgrade.

Other Thoughts: AMD rocks! and Thuban core has been rock solid for years! Keep it up AMD I <3 you guys!

5 out of 5 eggs2 years and running strong

Pros: Good price
Strong gaming and multi-tasking
Simple to over clock
Top 20 chips ever made

Cons: Not as strong some as newer chips, unless highly overclocked

Can run hot, but a good cooler will make this a non-issue.

Other Thoughts: Love this chip. It constantly benchmarks higher than the Passmark Average. Paired with two 7870s and a SSD, this CPU is great. Also scores very high on 3D Mark FireStrike and Cinebench. I scored in the top 84% only running at 3.712 GHZ.

I think AMD low-balled the stats, or I got a better than average chip. IT is really strong for the price. This thing will over clock above 4GZ, but you must be very careful when you do. I got it to 4.8 GHZ once, but quickly lowered it, as it was unstable.

5 out of 5 eggsLove this chip

Pros: I've owned this chip since October of 2011. I keep wanting to upgrade my build to a FX8350 but I can never fully convince myself just because of how amazing this chip has been to me. I primarily game and went with this chip when i was just winging it and teaching myself how to build a pc. Luckily this chip has never given me any issues what so ever. I've had it fully stable and overclocked to 3.9 for pretty much the last two years and haven't looked back using a thermaltake water 2.0 system. Never have an issue with overheating and havent seen any kind of bottlenecking in games. Looking back on this I wish i could of gotten more of these chips and just built more with them because of how nice its been. I would like to get a build up and running with a 8350 just so i can compare the two myself but i dont think i will get rid of this chip till it finally dies peacefully gaming on its own.

Cons: Earlier on i kept getting DSOD but i realized later on that my novice overclocking was the likely reason behind it

Other Thoughts: My build:
AMD Phenom II X6 1100T BE
Asus Sabertooth 990fx R2.0
EVGA GeForce 660ti 3GB
8GB Corsair Vengeance 2133MHz @1600MHz
850w Corsair PSU
256GB SanDisk SSD
1TB Seagate 7200 RPM 32MB Cache
1TB WD 7200 RPM 64MB Cache
Thermaltake Armor A60 Gamining Case

5 out of 5 eggsGreat CPU for the price.

Pros: I bought this about 3 years ago and it's still going strong with stock everything.

-Price
-Power for the price

Essentially you get a lotta bang for your buck.

One thing to note - everyone talks about bottle necking in video games, and this is kind of a funny, because while it's "true" its not a valid statement. Video games have always been heavy on GPU, not as much CPU, so it makes since that the bottleneck occurs on GPUs, even with older CPUs. as you increase resolution, AA, etc. this has a higher impact on your GPU. Try doing something like stream and play a game with this card and you will start to notice your CPU fan raise to 100% and your CPU usage will be in the 80-90% range depending on what you have running at the time.

Cons: none.

Other Thoughts: Most of the people who say their tech knowledge is 5, is actually about 3, they are "informed" on video card hardware and CPU hardware, but they aren't by any means experts. This can be seen throughout the silly comments about bottle necking. Anyone who truly understands what's required to run a game would not even mention the bottle neck being GPU based.

3 out of 5 eggsIt worked

Pros: Fast and easy to overclock.

Cons: One core was defective early in. Dealt with it by deactivating. Later replaced under warranty.

5 out of 5 eggsSuperior performance for a great price

Pros: Fast, reliable, easy overclocking.

Cons: They're out of stock.

Other Thoughts: I bought this CPU nearly 3 years ago for my first personal 'new' build. It has handled everything thrown its way with no problem. This chip will definitely not be the bottleneck in your build, even with top of the line video cards and SSD's. Props to the guys over at AMD for providing an excellent chip at such a low cost!

I strongly recommend upgrading the heatsink and using a well ventilated case to prevent overheating. The chip is pretty power hungry and will quickly heat up, especially if overclocking or gaming. I chose the Cooler Master V10 and Antec Lanboy Air with a positive pressure fan setup. CPU/MB temps range from 22C at idle to 30C during a full stress test. Surprisingly low for an AMD chip!

If you can find one, buy it!

5 out of 5 eggsGood Workhorse

Pros: Runs very solid. It works great with any program that can handle multi-core processing like Adobe CS.

Cons: none so far

Other Thoughts: Runs great and it's never given me a bit of trouble. I've run it of a few boards now and it's one of the best processors I've owned.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic chip

Pros: This chip was part of my second ever complete computer build. Couldnt of asked for a more stable chip than this for a novice. Just popped it, stuck on the (after market) heatsink, and presto. Honest to godness buildtime + installs was about an hour. LItterally been exploring Azeroth on this machine for two plus years with out one problem. Huge props to AMD for making a solid chip, and from what I can, ran cool.

Cons: Wish I knew how to OC.

Other Thoughts: Even with out OCing, I feel this chip can handle anything I toss at it. Using two monitors, one for gaming, and one for vent / movie / streaming, I definently put it through its paces. Just ate everything.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing CPU

Pros: Powerful, cheap

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Only game I've ever had ANY problem running on max with this is Planetside 2, which slaughters AMD processors. Everything else out right now will bottleneck at your GPU not this chip!

5 out of 5 eggsStill one of the best AMD processors

Pros: I bought this CPU in March of 2011. I have been running it with an H50 cooler (push/pull) at 3.8-4.0 Ghz with no issues ever. This is one of the best PC parts I have owned in years. It is rock stable and will handle everything I throw at it. Somehow this CPU slipped under a lot of peoples radar. It benches higher than almost all of AMD's newer CPUs and will nearly match a 2500k/2600k, although they still pull a bit ahead. It definitely bests the i7 920 in almost all regards. One of AMD's best products in years.

Cons: Very hard to find now. Still gets beaten by the 2600k (very close) and higher level CPUs out there from Intel, but it comes at a cheaper price if you can find one.
Power hungry - Requires a hefty Vcore if you plan on overclocking (4Ghz requires at least 1.5v). Comes with a substandard heatsink/fan.

Other Thoughts: If you can still find one new and the price is right, GET IT!

Due to the fact that the newest AMD CPU's (FX Included) are no better and sometimes worse performers than the 1100t, it has made these chips very hard to find as everyone seems to want one.

You will not be let down by this CPU, especially if gaming or video/photo editing is your thing.
