5 out of 5 eggsGreat CPU

Pros: Had great performance, went through really tough conditions, lasted a long time, cheap.

Cons: It died eventually, but see other thoughts.

Other Thoughts: I had CPU mined almost 2000 litecoins with this CPU before it died, and this was in a tightly packed not very well ventilated Dell case with wires everywhere, with the stock heatsink, which wasn't bad as far as stock heat sinks go. Anyways, AMD's RMA was quick. (except for FedEx who took 5 days longer than they should have on the way there, but it was prepaid) They quit making these CPUs, so instead they sent me back a brand new retail-boxed 1090T, and they sent it out to me via priority next day shipping. (To make up for the initial FedEx delays I assume.) That's customer service! I also go to keep the stock heatsink in case I find a use for it.

I rate it five eggs still because this isn't the only CPU I've lost to mining Litecoins, and in spite of the conditions, it held up very well, and more than made me my money back.

5 out of 5 eggsAMD Phenom 975 BE

Pros: Easy to overclock. Paid $120 for this CPU about 14 months ago just as a temporary unit, however I am still using this CPU today, as I have not seen another AMD chip worth upgrading to besides maybe the 8350. The 9370 and 9590 will be released soon but use so much power which will mean more heat. It is looking as though my CPU upgrade for BF4 will be paired with a z77 or z87 mainboard. Hopefully AMD can recapture the market for desktop processors with Steamroller.

Cons: Arguably the best desktop CPU's for gaming that AMD made were Deneb and Thuban, in the time that they were mainstream. I tried to find an 1100T before buying this CPU but the prices were nearing $300 because they stopped manufacturing them and they were still in high demand.

Other Thoughts: ASUS M5A99X EVO

Corsair H60
Corsair Vengeance 8GB
Sapphire 7970 @ 1050/1550
Corsair TX850

3 out of 5 eggsGreat CPU, Sub par Fan

Pros: This CPU makes up for a slightly older generation graphics cards (Nvidia 9800) Allowing me to run games like Skyrim on near max settings.

Cons: Stock fan is loud and difficult to install.

Other Thoughts: Throw the stock fan away... seriously. It's absurdly hard to install.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Built in overclocking features fast, inexpensive

Cons: non

Other Thoughts: You can buy a comparable AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 985 Processor for about $99. I think I paid around $300 for this model in 2011. You cant go wrong with AMD. Had ZERO problems.

5 out of 5 eggsYear later

Pros: Fast, cheap, cool, and overclockable. I put this in a Dell computer to replace an Athlon II x2 CPU. IT works wonders. I had to use the heatsink that came with it, which is worse than the stock heatsink (I never though that possible before...) and it stays under 60C for the most part. Only issues I've run into is overclocking on this board, but that's the board's fault with the terrible VRM. Dropping the voltage from stock actually allowed me to hit 4.0GHz stable. It holds up to anything I throw at it. AMD's support for the Linux community. Currently running Antix 12.5 on an SSD, and it boots in less than 7 seconds on a SATA2 port. Windoze 7 on the mechanical HDD takes 40 seconds to boot, but everything I do is instant with this CPU, except for compiling or rendering video.

Cons: Intel fanbois... Why is there even a box for this? Not allowed to put rap with a "c" in our reviews?

4 out of 5 eggsReliable until I tried to change my cooling system

Pros: It always ran fast.

It was never that cool under the stock heat sink, but that is to be expected.

Regardless it is fast and when I bought it relatively cheap,

Cons: I've never replaced a heatsink before so this wasn't really at the fault of the CPU. But when I bought my new liquid cooling system I tried to remove my old heatsink, but the cpu came off with it and got stuck on it. Some thermal past got on the gold leads on the bottom of the cpu and it never worked again.

Other Thoughts: As I said, I never had any problems with it until I killed it.

Gonnna miss this trusty little thing.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: Never had a problem with this processor e.e Plus it gives the power you need for anything you want to do. I mean yes I've only been able to reach 3.9 GHz on the core speed and kept it stable, though regardless that still quite a bit of power. The Processor is incredible and I would recommend it to others.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I'm not extremely pro at over clocking, actually I've just recently gotten into trying to do it, 3.9 was good enough for me and I don't see a major problem with this Processor. Again if anyone asked I would recommend this chip to them.
