3 out of 5 eggsGreat CPU, Sub par Fan

Pros: This CPU makes up for a slightly older generation graphics cards (Nvidia 9800) Allowing me to run games like Skyrim on near max settings.

Cons: Stock fan is loud and difficult to install.

Other Thoughts: Throw the stock fan away... seriously. It's absurdly hard to install.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Built in overclocking features fast, inexpensive

Cons: non

Other Thoughts: You can buy a comparable AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 985 Processor for about $99. I think I paid around $300 for this model in 2011. You cant go wrong with AMD. Had ZERO problems.

5 out of 5 eggsYear later

Pros: Fast, cheap, cool, and overclockable. I put this in a Dell computer to replace an Athlon II x2 CPU. IT works wonders. I had to use the heatsink that came with it, which is worse than the stock heatsink (I never though that possible before...) and it stays under 60C for the most part. Only issues I've run into is overclocking on this board, but that's the board's fault with the terrible VRM. Dropping the voltage from stock actually allowed me to hit 4.0GHz stable. It holds up to anything I throw at it. AMD's support for the Linux community. Currently running Antix 12.5 on an SSD, and it boots in less than 7 seconds on a SATA2 port. Windoze 7 on the mechanical HDD takes 40 seconds to boot, but everything I do is instant with this CPU, except for compiling or rendering video.

Cons: Intel fanbois... Why is there even a box for this? Not allowed to put rap with a "c" in our reviews?

4 out of 5 eggsReliable until I tried to change my cooling system

Pros: It always ran fast.

It was never that cool under the stock heat sink, but that is to be expected.

Regardless it is fast and when I bought it relatively cheap,

Cons: I've never replaced a heatsink before so this wasn't really at the fault of the CPU. But when I bought my new liquid cooling system I tried to remove my old heatsink, but the cpu came off with it and got stuck on it. Some thermal past got on the gold leads on the bottom of the cpu and it never worked again.

Other Thoughts: As I said, I never had any problems with it until I killed it.

Gonnna miss this trusty little thing.

5 out of 5 eggsamd x4 975

Pros: fast, stable, much improvement over my old 939 pin x24400. i've had no problems with stock heatsink or otherwise.

Cons: I wish the warranty was longer, I suppose.

Other Thoughts: Nice, speedy processor. I recommend it!

4 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: Never had a problem with this processor e.e Plus it gives the power you need for anything you want to do. I mean yes I've only been able to reach 3.9 GHz on the core speed and kept it stable, though regardless that still quite a bit of power. The Processor is incredible and I would recommend it to others.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I'm not extremely pro at over clocking, actually I've just recently gotten into trying to do it, 3.9 was good enough for me and I don't see a major problem with this Processor. Again if anyone asked I would recommend this chip to them.

3 out of 5 eggsgets hot

Pros: The CPU is a good CPU i mean its quad core am3 socket runs nice, fast (when its cool) and the heat sink you get with the processor is not bad. i had gotten the prossesor for a low budget gaming system.

Cons: i have had the processor for a little over a year now and its still good, the problem is that it gets EXTREMELY HOT i can get my cpu ten over 70 degrees Celsius. buy just surfing the web wile listening letting the world of warcraft login page run in the background. well see what happens in the future. i got a heat sink from cooler master and the heat sink works well. i use them in builds all the time. but my cpu is still running really hot.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome!!!

Pros: It's fast and handles anything i throw at it. I've had it for 4 months now and it's still running like a champ.

Cons: I've never had fan noise bother me and i thought i had heard it all until i got this. I can barely hear myself think, it sounds like a turbine engine running next to your face. I thought at first i could avoid all the other comments about how loud it was thinking it can't be that bad but i was sooooooo wrong...... anyone who gets this CPU, if you want to keep your neighbors from waking up, get a new heatsink and fan.

Other Thoughts: Totally worth the price.
