5 out of 5 eggsBest processor I ever owned

Pros: 3 years and going strong.
Handles everything I throw at it from gaming to encoding to crunching (F@H type stuff).

Cons: Stock heatsink was so loud I ordered a Liquid cooler, but that just allows me to OC and this thing can get high in the GHZ range so that is a plus as well.

Other Thoughts: I was thinking of going back to AMD from Intel. At the time I purchased this, Sandy Bridge was the dominant processor. Although it still had the Phenom's number, I am glad I saved the $100-$200 for the minor performance drop i received. It is cheaper and good enough for what I needed and since it is AM3, I was able to get an AM3+ socket motherboard and can upgrade to FX anytime.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: it does everything i wanted and more.it replaced a 3.1ghz dual core and right after installation i notice a marked improvement in speed.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: would buy it again,i even bought another 3 months ago and it is running great.since i'm not a gamer it does just fine and i think it would perform well playing games with it

5 out of 5 eggsThis lil' proccessor simply RAWKS

Pros: Yes, it's pretty stable under torture but be also prepared to be impressed by its awesome performance even without seriously overclocking it.
POWER-TEMP LEVELS AND SPEEDS ARE AMAZING; IDLE TEMPERATURE EVEN AT STOCK CLOCK.
PREPARE TO SEE HIGH BENCHMARKS AND STEADY TEMPS WHILST BEING PUSHED, ONLY TO REMAIN SOLID TO THE POINT OF BEING ALMOST BULLETPROOF.

Cons: not available anymore. I'd kill to get me mitts on another one for a project I've been working on.

5 out of 5 eggsIf you missed it too bad for you

Pros: It BLOWS ANY $600+ ivy-bridge out of the water ,OC's like a beast, Stays cool, VERY limited supply. Best CPU ive ever owned and would love to get my hands on just ONE MORE.

Cons: only one.....it doesn't seem to like "non-BIOS" overclocking, i have 12gb of Mushkin Enhanced Radioactive ram OC'd with plenty of power to go around...and it would still BSOD unless i OC'd from BIOS.

Other Thoughts: I got a hold of the last one...my serial Number is the last one made, I bought it from Russia the shipping cost me more than the chip itself.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat banger

Pros: High frequency quad core ideal for Battlefield 3.

Cons: With high end ram trending all over this cpu being from 2009 stated support up to 1333, but i have an Asus mobo and it allows me to set the 8-8-8 cas of 1600 on my crucial ballistix. only 1.5 watts too, going over could damage cpu.

Other Thoughts: Being the eager noob and wanting instead of research and patience i bought this insted of the much more ram friendly fx series. but thats okay cause now i can upgrade to vishera or steamroller.

5 out of 5 eggsBought the Last One

Pros: Easily overclocks on air to 3.9 on stock voltage, 4.2 with higher voltages. Nice way to extend the life of my two year old AM3 system. Runs everything I throw at it. Looks like I got the last one they sold.

Cons: Power consumption and heat limit the practicality of overclocking by more than 8-10%. One of the cores is a little weak, requires more voltage to remain stable at 4.0 and above.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks for me

Pros: First used as a gamings pc cpu, ran SWTOR and Dirt 3. Now used as a churches multimedia machine's cpu and obviously handles that without a sweat.

Cons: none, never had issues

Other Thoughts: Newb friendly as i used this in my first build and never had issues.

3 out of 5 eggsresearch is a must do, EXTENSIVELY.

Pros: this is a promising high potential CPU.

Cons: upon further OC seeking, i discovered the ENTIRE phenom ii line is only rated at a maximum of DDR3 1333, which is why it lost 2 eggs off my original review.

Other Thoughts: i was curious why the motherboard settings were displaying 9-9-9-28 for the timings on my AMD Performance edition 1600 ram, when i googled for it i stumbled across a forum that said the danebs weren't capable of 1600 without error, so i went to AMD for specs and learned the entire Phenom II series is only rated up to DDR3 1333. WELL... that sure is nice to know. time to upgrade to an FX processor that supports up to DDR3 1866 "1866 supported with 1 DPC (DIMM per Channel) in single memory slot motherboard designs" i'm not sure what that means though. their entire specs are on their site, you can easily go there and look for yourself, i hope everyone else does this in the future.

5 out of 5 eggsLove it

Pros: I love this CPU. Stock temps were 35C idle and 45C under load. I put on a big cooler and overclocked to 4GHz and now idle is 25C and load is 35C. CPU throttling is pretty good. Cores stay at 800MHz most of the time, but jump right up to 4GHz as needed. I feel confident that I could overclock more if I wanted to, considering my temps are actually lower than stock.

Cons: Stock cooler is too loud IMO. Has only 1 temp sensor, while Intels have a sensor for each core.

Other Thoughts: Location of the temperature file under Linux (for me) is:

/sys/module/k10temp/drivers/pci:k10temp/0000:00:18.3/temp1_input
