5 out of 5 eggsThe best processor ever

Pros: Overall the single best processor ever manufactured.

I have been using x86 clone CPU's since they became available. I have made builds based on every x86 processor that has ever been available. Cleaning out my attic I recently stumbled on some of these. Of note was a Cyrix 486 and a Cyrix 6x86.

If you consider all things, this is the best processor ever produced. Although rated at 3.4 ghz it runs stock on my AS-Rock 970 Extreme3 motherboard at 3.65 ghz (X boost on). It cannot be outclassed by any processor. The two cores are more than sufficient for 90% or better of most applications and sips power at only 65W. It would be interesting to see what speeds could be maintained with only a heat sink. Rounding off with two 1 megabyte level 2 caches and you simply have the all around best processor ever. Too bad they are no longer manufactured.

5 out of 5 eggsThis processor rocks!

Pros: Almost as fast as the newest AMD Processors!
Good price!

Cons: Not as fast as the Intel Processors.

Other Thoughts: If you look at a per-core benchmark, this processor is only 14% behind the AMD FX-9590. Since I don't use any programs that run on more than one core, this processor is about perfect for me. Much better than wasting $300 on a processor that I will only use one or two cores on.

4 out of 5 eggssolid

Pros: AMD is just great when it comes to getting a motherboard that can take some handling without killing the CPU socket

Cons: speed af any AMD Chip is not enough to vindicate building a serious workstation out of one

Other Thoughts: Maybeone day the makers of CPU's with Pins will realize that you can make a chip the size your fist because have you been the size of the cases that we use. GIVE us a 4000 pin CPU the size of a VCR tape and make it powerful with 100000000 transistors

5 out of 5 eggsEconomical solution

Pros: Economical mid performance solution for desktop or specialty use.

Cons: Discontinued processor model

Other Thoughts: I bought this processor for a number of reasons. One was the price and two is because of my positive experience with AMD processors over the years. I coupled this processor with an ASRock A785GM-LE motherboard and 4 gig of ram, and put it all inside a Sentey Slimline case. I have this system connected to my TV via HDMI with a wireless N USB adapter. I use it exclusively for streaming video via Hulu+. This hardware config along with Ubuntu Linux 13.04 does exactly what I need it to do. Could'nt be more pleased with its performance.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat cpu for the dollar

Pros: Very low price, easy install, can overclock to about 3.96 ghz before it crashes. runs at a low temp, almost room temp! I put in my brand spankin' new system with mobo A900d+ from biostar, worked right off the bat! I saw a review that this exact cpu didnt work in the same mobo.... so i guess either you had a bad cpu or a bad mobo. anyways i highly recomend this cpu for a low to mid grade build.

Cons: the only con i can think of would be its only 2 cores, but that doesnt really count because for 50-60 dollars your lucky to even get 2 cores.

Other Thoughts: if you want more than 2 cores you must be doing some extreme gaming or hd video edditing. and if you are then i would recomend either an athlon ii x4 or if you have the money jump to the fx series.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome little mighty-mite!

Pros: High clock speed for low money!
Dual-core 64 bit CPU.
Low power/low heat.

Cons: Absolutely none.

Other Thoughts: Used this CPU with an Asrock motherboard to replace my parents' Athlon 64 x2 AGP-based system.
They're running Vista Home Premium 64-bit and it runs like a dream on this CPU.
For an inexpensive low-to-mid level spec system, you can't beat the Athlon II !

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

Pros: Used this to replace a dying 7750 Kuma.
I got to say, there is a noticeable increase in overall system performance. Not to mention this only uses 65W compared to the 95W of the Kuma.
The stock speed is just fine for me the way it is. I am sure this thing can OC to 4GHz no problem.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I used this to replace a dying AM2+ processor. Really good buy for your buck.

5 out of 5 eggsLow Cost, and Delivers!

Pros: Low cost, performs as spec'd, runs cool, quality construction!

Cons: None so far!

Other Thoughts: It's low cost and does it's job perfectly, what else could I want?

Ooo, maybe coffee ... yeah.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks for me

Pros: Better than most Intel processors. More than one core. Not a bad price.

Cons: Not the best. Only two cores.

Other Thoughts: I've owned this processor since I got it in a Super Saver deal back in April when I was trying to build a good gaming PC for as cheap as possible. Over all it gets the job done and its stronger than the Core 2 Duo in my old laptop (laptop specs were what made me build this PC).

However, there are more powerful processors out there. This one is worth its price, but if you wanna build a powerful machine I'd recommend paying extra.

My PC specs
BIOSTAR A880GZ AM3+ AMD 880G HDMI SATA 6Gb/s Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
AMD Athlon II X2 270 Regor 3.4GHz Socket AM3 65W Dual-Core Desktop Processor
1x CORSAIR 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333
NVidia 7800 GT OC graphics card.
