4 out of 5 eggsGreat budget processor

Pros: Nice and cheap for 8 cores. Runs very efficient. OC at 4.3Ghz on Corsair H60 water cooling.

Cons: Not even close to my I7 4770k.

Other Thoughts: If you want a home server or write your own apps to take advantage of the multicores you can't beat this.

4 out of 5 eggsLove at first boot

Pros: For the price I got it at ($80) it was a steal. Built my first system with it and loved it to bits. It's clocked a little low but nothing that can't be fixed with some aftermarket cooling. It's a great budget build CPU that'll get the job done.

Cons: Runs hot. It's AMD, their stuff is always fire, figuratively and hopefully never literally. I got mines at a pretty sexy price, but I can see people turning away for other options at it's current price.

Other Thoughts: AMD builds stuff that handles a ton of things great for cheapos, which isn't a bad thing. Intel will leave your wallet considerably lighter but for premium stuff. You wanna be a budget boy or a rich boy. Take ya pick.

5 out of 5 eggsJacob Winkle

Pros: Price

Cons: Would be nice if AMD just dumb down the box to more recycled material as that would reduce the cost a bit for AMD if they use a box material instead of this metal. But is nice and flashy looking but we really just came for the CPU.

Other Thoughts: Not a biased person when it comes to AMD and Intel
(Not a fanboy)
If AMD had junk then AMD wouldn't be in business this long. Price to performance AMD in general is in the ball park. Nvidia and Intel, yes more expensive, but there is a performance increase but heres the key,"By How Much Performance".

5 out of 5 eggsGreat CPU

Pros: 8 cores of fury. 3.1 GHz. All leading to one amazing processor. Does everything you want it to and more while maintaining stability. At the time I bought this, $750 cheaper double the cores of Intels best.

Cons: None at all.

Other Thoughts: I play many games and this CPU runs them all and can handle running multiple things at once. Combined with a 990 chipset mobo and 6000 series ATI GPU (AMDs Scorpius platform) makes for one very solid setup.

Side note: For those who complain about the stock fan noise, I don't hear it over my case fans. The stock fan runs just fine and isnt any louder then anything else.

5 out of 5 eggsScreamin unit

Pros: This is a great CPU, it took anything that I threw at it without a hitch. Got it overclocked to 4.2 without any issues. AMD all the way!

Cons: Got a little warm even on idle

5 out of 5 eggsGreat CPU

Pros: This thing is a beast. I have mine over clocked at 4.2 ghz on a 35 dollar cooler with article cooler thermal paste and evo 212+ cooler. This thing is insane, coming from a 3.5 ghz dual core the performance is night and day. I use this for gaming Microsoft word excel, photoshop and have outbox and google chrome running all while I'm playing battlefield 4 and system never struggles at all. I am running SLI GeForce 760 4gb FTW editio. Cards and in bf4 I get over 120 FPS.

Cons: The only possible con is that more games and programs still aren't with the future yet and using 8 cores. Otherwise this CPU is the best for price. I have built over 20 computers for customers using this processor and every one of them is amazed at the performance for the price compared to Intels line .

Other Thoughts: This CPU I have paired with.
Asrock fata1ty 990 fx killer board
32gb crucial ballistix 1600 ram
Intel 240 gb ssd(bf4 dayz)
Samsung evo 120gb ssd(windows)
Sea gate 1tb(media)
EVGA 760FTW 4gb SLI
750 watt thermal take tr2
LG BLURAY READ/WRITE.

4 out of 5 eggsGood product

Pros: This CPU works great. Originally chose those over intel for the price to core ratio and I am definitely glad I chose this CPU. Hardcore gaming not a problem, streaming not a problem, rendering not a problem. Even making video games with powerful software not a problem.

Cons: Heat!! If you get this CPU you HAVE to get a better fan/sink. It just cannot keep up with the heat it gives off. My CPU clocked 80c before new fan. If CPU fan was better I'd give 5 eggs.

Other Thoughts: Save yourself the trouble and buy the new fan when you buy this.

5 out of 5 eggsIt does what I need

Pros: I was skeptical buying anything in its first generation I was very pleased with this CPU. I have a fried with an 1100T and we compare game benchmarks and this chip will generally outperform the 1100T on any new game. Very few games will push all 8 cores to their max but it does have weaker single core performance than Intel's $300 comparisons. This isn't the best CPU on the market but I see very little performance drops not caused by RAM or GPU issues. It has even been generously OC'd for 6 months without any complaints. For the price I couldn't ask for more.

Cons: Subpar single threaded performance. Older games and those made from smaller studios use the cores inefficiently. Not AMDs fault but be aware.

4 out of 5 eggsThis...is...POWER!!

Pros: Screams! This beast can handle anything i throw at it. Huge upgrade from my Phenom II.

Cons: This thing screams two ways. 1) Fast 2) and this is the Con.....the fan and heatsink that comes with this does indeed scream. It is incredibly loud and runs hot. I have gotten several blue screens because of how hot it gets. I got a Cooler Master Hyper N520 and fixed this issue. So just a thought when getting this processor, buy an aftermarket cpu cooler.

Other Thoughts: I would indeed suggest this thing to my friends and anyone else reading this review. Just be sure to get an aftermarket cooling system.
