3 out of 5 eggsFSB!!!!!

Pros: Inexpensive, compatible with my old skt. A board.

Cons: Low L2, could never keep pace with even a 1 GHz Athlon.

Other Thoughts: With reference to another review, this processor DOES run at a 266MHZ FSB. The only reason that the BIOS or whatever you were using to OC it with says 133MHZ is that the FSB on an AMD chip is double-pumped, which means that a 133MHZ setting translates into a 266MHZ FSB. This goes for ALL AMD processors. Intel CPUs are quad pumped, so 200MHZ really means 800MHZ. Got it? SO, whatever you do, don't try to set the CPU at 266MHZ, because this will result in the CPU trying to run at 532MHZ, which on a socket A processor spells death unless you have a good HSF. Even then, that high a setting would still fry the ceramic substrate.

4 out of 5 eggsGet it while you can

Pros: Price.

Cons: Superlocked.

Other Thoughts: If you plan to overclock, do your homework first. There are different techniques to unlock, which may also be impacted by what your BIOS supports. If using stock, gives decent perf and about the only Socket A still around.

5 out of 5 eggsYep, it works!

Pros: Inexpensive

Cons: Socket A runs hot, only 64K L2

Other Thoughts: Not much choice in the socket A market these days, it was nice to see new ones still available! There are tons of these in customer homes, great replacement option (while the supply lasts. I may order a few more just to keep in stock!)

5 out of 5 eggsEverthing A OK

Pros: Bought as a replacement for an old Computer I had laying around with a Duron 1.0. Ended up doing a full rebuild using the Foxconn board, harddrive, floppy, cd/dvd and memory all from new egg. All is fine as usual. Thanks New Egg.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I have the duron 1.6 clocking at only 133 as of yet. No problems at all. Will increase to 200 and see how things go even though its rated at 266

3 out of 5 eggsGood Buy

Pros: Really good price and made my computer twice as fast.

Cons: First one was DOA and my old motherboard overwrites the CPU speed to 1.2 Ghz.

5 out of 5 eggsgood bang for buck

Pros: I bought this proc w/ a Rosewill heatsink/fan combo to replace a fried XP2100. Plugged it into an ECS board, bumped it to run 140 from 133, & it's been running constantly & stumble-free ever since!

Cons: It was named Duron...that seems to be about it.

Other Thoughts: options for Socket A are drying up quickly...I guess I'll need to go modern again in a couple years. At least I know an AMD proc will last that long! hee hee

5 out of 5 eggsComparable to what Pentiums?

Pros: Very Cheap, hopefully i can boost the performance from my old compaq with the 400 mhz processor xD How can you go wrong with xx$ if it works...I got the combo with the heatsink and both under 40 bucks is a steal!

Cons: They had a sempron socket A that was 1.8 ghz and had a higher L2 cache and i suppose they ran out of it before i could order one.

Other Thoughts: Does anyone know what type of a pentium this would compare to? I just want it for a regular web surfing computer with the occasional game. Nothing that requires high specs, but something simple like an old call of duty game or medal of honor.
