2 out of 5 eggsTerrible chip and quality

Pros: Fast, easy to overclock,

Cons: Memory Control Handlers in the chip, life expectancy,

Other Thoughts: Purchased the chip in april of 2012, the memory control handlers have went bad in it middle of April, AMD has pretty much told me I'm out of luck since it was an OEM purchased chip and not Retail-in-Box and NewEgg has no RMA for it after 30 days. Wasted 200 dollars. Never overclocked the chip either.

1 out of 5 eggsUnfortunately DOA

Pros: It would have gotten better reviews had it worked for me. Understandably, this happens sometimes. It just depends on how Newegg decides to handle this situation since there aren't anymore in stock.

Cons: DOA. Went to power this thing up for the first time and nothing. On the MB, the CPU LED was red indicating something wrong with the processor. So I took powered down, disconnected everything and reseated all the cards/plugs. I also took the Zalman cooling fan off of the CPU, reconnected everything, and powered back up. I felt the CPU after several minutes of running and it was still cool to the touch. I don't have that high of technical expertise, so if anybody has any suggestions I'll be more than willing to try it before I ship this CPU out. BTW - the only impressive parts of my new system so far are this dead CPU and the MB (ASUS Crosshair V/Thunderbolt). Everything else is average at best.

Other Thoughts: At first I thought it may be the GPU however, I have another that I switched it out with and there's no way that both of them are dead. FML.

4 out of 5 eggsGood chip so far

Pros: Working well so far. Seems stable. Running some music software my former dual core couldn't handle. That was my main reason for upgrading. So far so good

Cons: I wasn't impressed with the packaging. There was no box and the chip just came in a plastic jewel case with no documentation. I suppose it dosen't matter, but I found it a little odd.

5 out of 5 eggsOn Fire

Pros: Easily overclocked to 4.1 GHz with air cooling and stock voltages. I haven't even tried to go further.

COOLER MASTER Hyper N 520 RR-920-N520-GP 92mm Sleeve CPU Cooler

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Came in flimsy plastic case. Wasn't damaged, but my cheaper items in the same order were better protected.

5 out of 5 eggs8 cores of multitasking power!

Pros: I just got the 8150fx I overclocked it to 4.4 on my zalman. Wei index stock is 7.6 with OC it's 7.8. My 3d mark score at 4.4ghz was 22265 this is using 8gb crucial 1333mhz ram. So I'm thinking I can push this thing way harder with higher ram and a h100 or h80.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: This is a very good CPU you can do so much as far as multitasking. It plays games like BF3 great and it hardly comes close to using the full power of this bad boy. If you get this CPU you will not be disappointed in it's power.

5 out of 5 eggsAMD FX-8150

Pros: Stable overclock of 4.5Ghz at 1.44v on a ASUS Crosshair V Formula motherboard (EFI BIOS version 1102). Temperatures are not an issue with a Corsair H100, I get 39C idle, 45-47C max load. Excellent performance for multi-threaded applications and multi-tasking.

Cons: Not quite up to par as other Intel processors are at the same price point for lightly-threaded applications (but differences are not noticeable in real-life scenarios).

Other Thoughts: I've owned this processor for more than a month now and I'm very satisfied with it. I'm glad I bought this version of it because I already had an aftermarket cooler (Corsair H100) waiting for it. I've had it overclocked to 4.5Ghz at 1.44v for more than a month, it's very stable. I can now live-stream while playing very CPU-taxing games without losing any performance.

5 out of 5 eggsNeat

Pros: Overclocks excellently with the Gigabyte UD7 motherboard: 4.8 GHz and DDR3 2200 (FSB of 275 MHz).

Cons: Too many cores. The processor only reaches 100% utilization when running stress tests. Enthusiast rigs are supposed to be hot, noisy, and problematic...it's nearly silent and extremely unimpressive with an aftermarket heatsink. Now Fitness Ted has to explain to people how awesome it is, and they're just like "yeah, whatever broseph, it's not making my ears bleed."

Other Thoughts: Thermal wall at 70 C; you'll need excellent cooling to make the mystical, nice round number of 5.0 GHz stable.
