4 out of 5 eggsBetter than expected

Pros: Inexpensive, easy to install. Cooler fan was quieter than expected. Performance was better than expected (I haven't run benchmarks, but it seems "snappier" than the P4 2.4B it replaced).

Cons: Thermal compound Intel uses - I replaced it w/ Actic Silver 3. Runs warmer than Northwood-based P4 it replaced, but I expected that.

Other Thoughts: Too bad Celeron brand is still feeling the effect of the previous generation of Celeron chips - this is a Prescott core with a somewhat smaller cache than a P4, making it a very nice budget processor.

3 out of 5 eggsDisappointed

Pros: Inexpensive, does what I bought it to do

Cons: Slower than I expected

Other Thoughts: I didn't have very high expectations on the speed of the processor, since it's a celeron (and low cost at that), but even there I was disappointed. It was for a Folding@Home build, so it simply runs the DC software with a Linux OS. I'll definitely spend more money next time.

4 out of 5 eggsyeah like um.

Pros: Yeah I bought this because my dad didn't want to spend more than 80 dollars on my CPU. I couldn't get a P4 for that price so I took a look at the celeron D's. This one matched my budget and I got it. My MSI board recognized it and I installed winders XP pro SP1, and SP2. Was super fast played HALO and Star Wars republic commando.

Cons: Then I installed a bunch of programs and it started to boot up slower. No treat I'll just defragment. So I defragmented and it was fast again. Then it slowed down with the more programs I put on it, and now it takes a while for it load up all my background programs and such. I don't know why. But after that is done I can play HL2 in High setting and such.

Other Thoughts: Even for the sudden drop in performance, which isn't caused by the processor, this CPU is a great deal and I will get a better heatsink/fan combo and drop the heat, which is ideal 41-42 degree's Celius. Or so says MSI core center. Get this CPU for light gaming, school needs, and for the price

5 out of 5 eggsyeee haw!!!!

Pros: fast, very overclockable, stable and so forth.

Cons: just following up from my old review, the cache seems a bit small.

Other Thoughts: like i said before my son is happy with it. to the person who asked about its gaming!! nothing a Pentium 4 w/ out HT couldn't do. compared to my sons pals machine who has a northwood 2.53GHz pentium, these cpu's are equal on benchmarks. plays HL2 perfect. i just hate when he wacks those zombies in the head! now why did i buy him that game hmm. great processor for a great son!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Overclocker

Pros: This CPU Overclocks stably to 3.4 GHz! It runs alittle hot at this speed 59-63 c but it will run forever at this. I have had mine overclocked this far for 3 months now with no problems!

Cons: None Maybe alittle hot running overclocked but what can you expect
