4 out of 5 eggsJust a heads up

Pros: I love these a series apu's. just cant beat the price for the performance you get.

Cons: Didnt come with a heatsink? just a processor shrink-wrapped in antistatic plastic dropped into a shipping box

Other Thoughts: only not rating 5 stars because there was no heatsink. as luck would have it i ordered a different heatsink anyways but it will not be arriving for several days, had planned to use the oem heatsink until it arrived to get everything setup, looks like im waiting a few more days to get this beast running :(

2 out of 5 eggsGreat CPU/GPU

Pros: This is a great little Processor. I was absolutely amazed at the benchmark scores I was getting while gaming with high settings. It's def not meant for a full time gamer but still was very impressed with the quality it put out for the price. I primarily use this for Blu-ray playback and once again it looks amazing!

Cons: The only reason it low egg score from me is to get your attention. Unless this changes in the future you can currently buy a BRAND NEW A8-3850 cheaper than the refurbished. I just want to bring that to everyone's attention before wasting there money on a refurbished one.

Other Thoughts: You might want to consider getting a different heat sink with this as it did run slightly hotter than i preffered with the stock heat sink.

5 out of 5 eggsLove It!

Pros: Very Nice APU!!! runs Smooth! stays cool under pressure! (prob not totally the apu, but still) has way more than I need for my recording software! and my internet provider cannot keep up with the graphics on some games!!! :D

Cons: if I would have seen the non-refurb first, could have saved $10... but oh well, worth the price!

Other Thoughts: I really like this APU, and I have only been running it at half power (one cpu power connector from power supply) I cannot wait to see what this thing can do after I really put some power into it!!!

5 out of 5 eggs3850 refurb

Pros: good proc

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Dear New Egg, Why on earth would I buy this item refurbished for more money than you are selling it for brand new from the factory? one hundred five for the refurb, and ninetynine plus another ten off for the new one. Do you really expect to sell this?

4 out of 5 eggsGreat little APU

Pros: It does what you need it to do, perform well as an all in one solution, and still put up a showing as a gaming chip(somewhat).

I've built 4 APU systems now, and while most were 3870k units, the 3850 runs almost as well at stock.

Great budget chip.

Cons: Cycles per clock could be faster...especially compared to the Intel chips.

That said, the Intels still do not come close to touching the 3D power these chips have.

Other Thoughts: To the reviewer above...(thx for being N/A, way to be brave!)

I know exactly who to blame, and it would be your OCZ ram, had you run a few google/hardware forum searches, you would have known NOT to buy that ram.

Swap this for some tight timing 1333 sticks from G.Skill or AMD and see what happens.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Put this micro into a ASRock A75M-ITX board and once I got it running is a nice system. In a small Qube like cabinet it has much power.

Cons: Used ram from ASRock ram page, 2 OCZ3P1600EB4GK for 4 GB and got random crashes. Win7 performance test would crash 100% of time in video section and trying to update with AMDs newest video driver would also crash 100% of time. Went to slower Kingston KVR1066D3N7/1G and it works, no crash. Dont know who to blame, ASRock ram page, OCZ ram, or a bad AMD A8-3850
