5 out of 5 eggsExcellentt CPU

Pros: -Runs cool (Unless you overclock)
-Very fast for this price range

Cons: -Fan mount is a little clunky, and I was worried something broke when I put it on.
-User manual had pictures, but they were a little difficult to interpret.

5 out of 5 eggsit's hot.But it's fast too!!

Pros: For the price and easy to OC to 4.5ghz.But you need a good liquid cooler device like the corsair H110 that I had.Can OC higher but stay at 4.5 to be stable.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsAMD Vs INTEL

Pros: As far as AMD goes they Run hot! After 10 years of messing around with specs and overclocking I have a good idea that when I buy an AMD Processor its going to run hot! Simple solutions is to spend a little extra cash Ea= (The money you saved on not buying Intel), and purchase a good liquid cooler or aftermarket Heat sink. I prefer Cool master myself. Mostly b/c they can perform when needed. This processor runs super hot 100 C plus with a good load, but under a wide variety of after market heat sinks problem solved. Also be aware that AMD has more options than Intel when it comes to overclocking in my opinion. I built a rig about 8 months ago with a Intel Core i7-4770 Haswell Quad-Core 3.4GHz and that sucker is nice. I'll give it to Intel, but Man did I pay for it. This processor performed just as well and with less ram mind you. I would suggest the cool master 212 evo. Keeps the CPU well under 35 C under a load.

Cons: HOT - NO way around it. Not worth taking an egg away for it. Also i would suggest a Full Size case due to the heat sink needed to keep this sucker cool at gaming or stressful loads.

Other Thoughts: I have read a lot in the past how some people have received DOA or broken packaging. It has never happen to me thanks to dumb luck i guess, but It happens people. Simple process through emails or phone calls get the job done on replacements if needed.

3 out of 5 eggsRuns too hot, even with copper heatsink

Pros: Only useful for browsing and video play IF you spend more on at least a 4 copper pipe cooler AND side case fan. Forget any heavy computing because this one will just burn up. Just get the way cheaper A6-5400k or cheaper and get the same performance.

Cons: 1 Any load and the temp shoots up to 100 C with an expensive solid copper heat sink and 6000 RPM fan. Very disappointing. .
2 Any attempt at overclocking at all get you restarts and crashes and the overclocking software is slow and crashes..
3 Graphics GPU Not suitable for even Battlefield 2142. Maybe PacMan.
If you have to add a video card then what is the use of an APU? I really wonder if getting any A series is worth it.
4 I built another system with a GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 AM3+ AMD 990FX + SB950 6 x SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard and 8 gb DDR3 1866 and a AMD FX-6300 Vishera 6-Core 3.5GHz (4.1GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 95W FD6300WMHKBOX Desktop Processor and it is the fastest computer I've ever seen, not OC'd. Very snappy and runs cool with 3 pipe cooler heat sink.
5 I don't like the way everything is more or less "on demand" and though it runs cooler at 55 C idling, that is way too high.
6. The Gigabyte system monitor reports false CPU tems ( as in 3 C or 12 C (53 F) when it's 80 F ambient
7. I replaced a brand new AMD A6-5400k (which is plagued with the usual AMD overheating problems. with ZERO visual difference in speed.

8 CPU setting appears to be LOCKED in the bios of the . Gigabyte . F2A88XM-D3H mobo.

Other Thoughts: I put this on a new Gigabyte . F2A88XM-D3H with Patriot Viper 3 Red 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 15000) PVL38G186C9KR and it was not worth even the price I paid.

If you get this, don't activate your widows 7 until after you are happy it will work.

My temps read using CPUID HWMonitor and Speecy.

I have build many nice systems and never again will I get involved with an A series AMD anything, nothing but heartaches.

NOTE: I have an Old Pentium 4 E6800 3.3 ghz with DDR 2 800 and it beats the pants off this "APU".

After throwing away almost 200 I could have had a much better deal for just a little more..

3 out of 5 eggsHot

Pros: Runs great at set speed with oem fan

Cons: Runs at 61c when not overclocked. I think it may be the motherboard sending the wrong voltage but I may have got a bad chip.

Other Thoughts: I love the amd family since the k6 and have built pc's since 1993. I've only had 2 come DOA and 3 with heat issues with all rigs built and repaired. I think maybe close to 3000 not bad. This is a review of the chip I got I think it's a fluke. Nevertheless it will work fine for now and I will buy a new motherboard before I see if the chip itself is the problem.

4 out of 5 eggsGood if you know what you are getting

Pros: The A10-5800K is an overall decent processor, I built a computer for my son to run nickJR games and this processor was a pleasant surprise for me. It was fast and overall just browsing/work related stuff I really don't notice any difference between this and my I7-3770.

Cons: Stock cooler... is not that good
If your a gamer buy a video card and get a different processor.

Other Thoughts: Although dated now this is still a decent processor if you intent to use the on-chip video without an discrete card you honestly cannot go wrong with the APU series paired this with 8 gigs of fast memory and an SSD and I have one pretty peppy machine.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for low budgets

Pros: Rather cheap compared to other processors of the same capabilities.
does everything I ask of it without heating up too much, I put my hand in front of my one exhaust fan and was surprised at the coolness.
graphics are real good, on the odd Windows measuring system it measures 4.6. plays Minecraft at 60fps, without standalone GPU, four times what I'm used to.
I love this thing!

Cons: came a bit smudged, as in, it was in the plastic covering and it had these biggish black streaks. odd.

Other Thoughts: would recommend to minecrafters with a low budget.
(hello me)

5 out of 5 eggsGood Processor

Pros: Works Great. Cheap. Runs Comfortable With 12 GB of Gskill Ripjaw. and a 750 TI Strix Edition.

Cons: The Cake is a Lie

Other Thoughts: I Bought His Processor to Replace My A6-6400k. It Has Not Gave Me Any Problems What So Ever.

5 out of 5 eggsInexpensive Greatness

Pros: I had my son build a computer with the AMD A10-5800k. It boots in 15 seconds and cost $559. It has an Enermax 80 plus gold PSU, CoolerMaster N200 case, 8 gigs of hyper fury ram, a Gigabyte GA-F2A68HM-DS2H, and a SYBA USB 3.0 PCI-e card. We stayed with the stock cooler because the sound isn't too loud if you go into the bios and set the fan speed to quiet.

Cons: This isn't about the A10-5800k but about the motherboard. I didn't realize that the Gigabyte motherboard didn't have a USB front panel header. So we had to spend 15 additional dollars to make that work. Just saying that you have to read the motherboard descriptions very carefully. Saying that it has USB3.0 doesn't mean that it has a header.

Other Thoughts: If you want to know how to build a computer, we posted a video of this build on youtube. Just look up thekennyshow and watch the computer build playlist. It's super entertaining and very easy to follow.

5 out of 5 eggssatisfied

Pros: Love it so much. AMD has never let me down. Got this up and running for a HTPC build and it does everything I need and more. Paired with 8 gb of 1866 ram and overclocked to 4.2 runs like a dream steady at 38 Celsius. This is probably best bang for buck for small media builds. Would buy again.

Cons: Wasn't free
