4 out of 5 eggsGreat APU!

Pros: Great APU for the price. I was a bit skeptical with the advertised OC, but it has performed excellent for nearly 9 months. I put this in a gaming rig I built for my son, and he really ran with it. Zero problems at all, even after OC-ing.

Cons: I left off one egg for this reason only: I didn't like the fan.

Other Thoughts: Can't say what the temp would be with stock fan, but I put on a larger one, just in case. I like to overbuild, I guess.

5 out of 5 eggsReview of Integrated Graphics

Pros: Windows Experience Index rates this CPU at 7.3/7.9 which I think is pretty amazing given that it really isn't a top of the line enthusiast CPU.

Gaming graphics on the Integrated chip are absolutely more than I expected, see below for explanation.

Fast and responsive

Great price and value

Cons: The only real con I have with this CPU is that when you are playing a game and attempting to do like file transfers in the background...expect that to seriously impact game play. The CPU does very well at being a CPU/integrated graphics, it really doesn't work all that well trying to do both at once. Make sure that you keep file transfers and other task that really dont require a lot of your attention to take place perhaps during working hours or sleeping hours when you really aren't using your computer that much.

Other Thoughts: Ok so on to gaming graphics. I play two mmos primarily and those are EVE Online and WoW. I found reviews of 90 fps in wow on good settings, 27 at high, and 18 at ultra. However, I really couldn't find anyone playing eve and running the 7660d integrated graphics.

My previous PC im upgrading from is a Dell Studio 17" from 2009 with a Microsoft family chipset. It benchmarks at around 43 G3D Mark. The minimum acording to EVE Online is 300, so I was running at everything turned down to low, eve the low graphics weren't rendering right. My frame rate was on average about 5-10 fps. However, upon installing this A10-5800k and using the integrated graphics, with the RAM OCed to 1866, in EVE right now I have all settings maxed out and am getting between 30-40 fps, which to a hard core gamer is kinda bad, but to me is night and day to what I had. I really cant tell the difference over 30 fps anyway. Despite 30, the game runs verrrryyy smoothly, fluid camera movement and absolutely stunning graphics.

I found the same result in WoW, with settings maxed out to ultra, except anti-aliasing, and shadows set to fair, and water to good...everything else is maxed. I went from 1-5 fps in wow to 25-35 fps on mostly ultra.

In terms of a budget PC, this CPU will most certainly allow you to play most games decently until you can afford a proper dedicated card. I highly recommend purchasing this CPU.

All my components arrived from Newegg out of the box and working perfectly.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat APU, Get it its worth it

Pros: -Great speed for the price.

-Good options to customize this product with a great motherboard.

-Works fine with all the games out there.

Cons: -The box it was in was damaged when I received it, took pictures before opening it.( to my surprise the APU was fine but the heat sink (which I wasn't gonna use either way was bent and had lots of dents.)

-I didn't get to use this to my full potential because I only tested it with the parts from my old machine.

Other Thoughts: None

5 out of 5 eggsExtremely good price, for a solid little core.

Pros: I will admit I have been an AMD basher from the get go, but this chip really made me a believer, I was buying on a budget, and AMD is the gamers choice in budget if you ask me now.

The pros to me are AMAZING price for buy, solid core handles single games easily, can be pushes a little to do a lot more. Can handle multiple games as well with little problem

Cons: As typical for AMD processors your overall frames won't be as high and can't compete for intel architecture.

Other Thoughts: My final thought is this, a budget gamer who wants the best for the least should go AMD and enjoy it to the fullest extent, I owned mine for over a year and I can say I love it, it is now retired in my mothers computer for desktop work but it gave me a great time and some hard work.

5 out of 5 eggsJust what I wanted!

Pros: Works very well with G.Skill Ripjaws X 2x4GB 2133 RAM
Incredibly easy to overclock in MSI BIOS
Very fast
Inexpensive
APU can easily run WoW at 60fps without even overclocking, depending on your settings

Cons: You will need to buy an aftermarket fan, this runs hot without one and it's probably not a good idea to overclock before that

Other Thoughts: I bought this specifically to play WoW (World of Warcraft) at a higher framerate than my old computer, and it does a very good job at doing that.

I've been able to play on decently high settings and still get 50-60 fps while in dungeons, *without overclocking!* I plan on overclocking once my replacement cooler arrives so I don't need to worry about overheating

Also important: You will want to buy FAST RAM to use this for gaming, since the APU depends on that to perform well. I bought 2133 speed G.Skill RAM and it works very well with that

4 out of 5 eggsGood Processor, TERRIBLE Cooler.

Pros: Fast all in one solution for a decent price. Does the job.

Cons: Absolutely terrible stock cooler. Make sure to buy a better one!

Other Thoughts: I bought this CPU on 6/21/2013 for an HTPC/Home Server. On first install I decided to use the stock cooler. I put it together and it booted it up, set up my stuff, and let it run. After about a week I actually bothered to check the temps and it was peaking at around 97c, on not more than 30% load mind you. Needless to say I shut it down right away and picked out an aftermarket cooler.

Ever since I installed the new cooler, temps have not exceeded 60c on full load, and everything runs noticeably smoother.

Although I usually buy aftermarket coolers, I figured I could get away with with the stock cooler since I hadn't planned any OCing right off the bat. This decision was based solely on my experience with Intel stock coolers, and the fact that they usually do the job as long as you don't OC. Come on AMD! How hard can it be to put a half decent fan on a hunk of metal?
