5 out of 5 eggsa series fan

Pros: cheap
onboard graphics

Cons: tdp

Other Thoughts: i have had this chip for 7 months and its great for mainstream use and gaming on the weekends when your using a graphics card. the on board graphics are a great bonus if you have a video card that fails and you want to keep gaming. the onboard graphics are powerful enough to play titan fall for 6 hours nonstop using a slim profile close loop CPU cooler. this product was a great investment

5 out of 5 eggsVery Nice

Pros: I got this for a build to replace a pentium 4 computer which ran good. This chip runs absolutely awesome. Hd vids, music, vpn, virtualbox running...I've not be able to max it out with normal usage. I fired up a video editor to work on Gopro vids and it runs smooth as can be. You can't beat the price for the performance you get. I'm replacing another computer and going to use the A10. I'm a AMD fan again.

Cons: None that I can find

5 out of 5 eggsBeyond expectation

Pros: - Fast multithreading.
- Quite fast iGPU.
- Overclockable.
- Cheap for a combination of fast cpu with discrete level gpu.

Cons: - Runs hot, on AMD Overdrive thermal margin (temperature gap from max temp) touched 7 degree C on full load with Prime95.
- Stock cooler is seriously loud

Other Thoughts: I bought this apu because I needed the gpu as a placeholder while I'm saving money to buy discrete gpu. I was skeptical if it could run some newer games but turns out it's going awesome. Paired with 8GB DDR3-1600 RAM, at 720p I can play BF3 and BF4 multiplayer on low-med (somehow bf3 lagged more than bf4, but still playable. Might be driver problem.), and surprisingly Black Flag and Watch_Dogs at low-med with HBAO+ low and FXAA.

The processor itself is quite fast. Based on Piledriver, the processor power is slightly lower than a FX-4300. Overclock it a bit and it should match FX-4300.

Bad side of this APU is temperature, running Prime95 my APU reached 7 degree C in AOD thermal margin, which is temperature gap between max temp and current temp. I applied Arctic MX-4, it went down to 17 degree C. Might gonna get aftermarket cooler, and oveclock it above 4GHz.

Overall, I'm happy with this APU.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for the price

Pros: Great cheap chip that is perfect for everyday usage, and some light/moderate gaming. Graphics portion of this chip can handle most of my games at medium to high settings, the only game this chip cant quite handle is battlefield.

Cons: The only downside to this chip is the heat. When gaming, or doing intensive tasks it gets a little hot for my comfort(above 70c).

5 out of 5 eggsOverclocking

Pros: Finally got around to really seeing what it can do. So I'm using the cooler that came with my FX 8350 Vishera which is an 8 core part. I used a bigger one on the Vishera. Turbo core off. Voltage bumped from 1.35 to 1.425. Max stable clocks staying within my thermal goal of under 60C. 4417 MHz! Full load using AMD overdrive after 1 hour 59C. That's it, that's where it's staying :)

Cons: None, it really only eats electricity when it's working hard. At normal low power states it's fine.

Other Thoughts: Still playing, maybe 1.4v will be OK instead of 1.425v

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing

Pros: These A-Series CPU's are awesome. For $88 you get 90% of the features compared to an intel chip over $200+. As we all know, this thing runs HOT, but the 3.9GHz on this bad boy makes it super fast and can do anything or more that any comparable intel can do for half the cost. I would DEFINITELY reccomend, down the line to combine this with a liquid CPU cooler to help keep it cooler and cut down on the noise from the stock heatsink and fan. But for the most part I am 100% Satisfied.

Cons: Runs Hot, Stock heatsink and fan are a little noisy, nothing an aftermarket water cooler or air cooler cant fix down the road.

4 out of 5 eggsA8 5600k

Pros: Very powerful even when straight out of the box

Cons: I noticed that the heat was getting up there in temp (around 80 on load) after i installed my graphics card

Other Thoughts: Great processor for the money. Really strong even using it as a apu it runs game at around 30-60 frames medium settings

4 out of 5 eggsGood, but slightly misleading box.

Pros: Processor is good. Runs great and stable. Plenty of power out of the box for some basic gaming.

Plenty fast for a good budget gaming build. Dual graphics worked well once set up. Running 35+ FPS on GW2 @ High/Ultra Settings when paired with a 6570.

Cons: Box states that the A8 line are compatible for dual graphics with a 6670. Problem is, only the A8-6000+ are directly supported for dual graphics with a 6670. I had bought a 6670 to pair with this, but had to sell it and pick up a 6570. I tried every work around I could find on the forums and was unsuccessful at getting it to work. Some people had stated that they were successful though. I must not be smart enough =/

Stock heat-sink seemed inadequate for it. I was getting some pretty high temp fluctuations under load. I replaced with an aftermarket cooler and all is well.

Other Thoughts: Once I had the right card, the dual graphics kicked in and worked well. I didn't see a big increase in FPS in GW2 with dual graphics compared to stock. I did notice a big difference in the consistency of the FPS.

Stock, the FPS fluctuated a bit when running and in combat. With the dual graphics enabled, I noticed no drop in FPS. The harder I worked it the more it stayed the same.

Obviously GW2 is not a standard in bench-marking for gaming machines, however it does require a bit to turn up the graphics.

My only issue with this processor was the box was misleading. I wasted time and money purchasing a 6670 thinking it would be compatible due to the box. I should have done more research on my end to verify, but it should be more clearly labeled on the box. At least an asterisk with an additional statement or something. I only docked it one egg because other than that, this processor does everything it should and I expected.
