5 out of 5 eggsGreat APU!

Pros: Temperature stays low even with stock cooler, and ridiculous OC potential. Price was cheap when I bought.

Cons: It is a bit of a power hog compared to newer technology, but it isn't terrible. Some programs (including BIOS) do not read the temperature correctly.

Other Thoughts: Some reviewers have stated that the unit gets hot with the stock cooler, with one even saying that it was over 90°C, which is simply NOT possible. The processor will shut down if it gets to 80°C, and begins throttling as low as 60°C. Mine is overclocked to 4.5GHz with the stock cooler, and at 100% load for 2 hours, it only got to 46°C. It usually idles at about 35°C. It is important to note that many programs, including the BIOS, may not read the Temperature accurately.

Pros: Decent price. Works most of the time

Cons: Get's way too. My computer will restart itself when it does. Usually when I'm gaming.

1 out of 5 eggs"Iffy"2.0

Pros: It's AMD and it posts

Cons: It's WAY TO HOT! I got a replacement from AMD and it runs hotter than the first. It's unknown to me how to get the temps down as low as the 5 egg reviews are getting. This one hits 92c just being on with a liquid cooling unit! I must have gotten 2 made on a Monday. I'll go back to Athlon CPUs...no more APUs for me.

1 out of 5 eggs"Iffy"

Pros: It's AMD and I question THAT!

Cons: HOT, HOT, HOT!!!!!! I've tried all my tricks to cool this thing with no luck. It idles at 75c with the stock, Zalman and even a liquid cooling unit! I swapped MOBOs...NOTHING worked! It will cause computer to shut off in approx 30 seconds at 96c with very light gaming nothing "hardcore". This is my first attempt with an APU and it's left a NASTY taste. I've RMAd with AMD and will give it another go when the replacement arrives.

Other Thoughts: I've tried an Athlon proc with the same boards and it only hits 43c with "Diablo"

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: A very good processor for the money. Using it as a apu i averaged about 45 frames on intensive games. Runs pretty cool without turbo on.

Cons: Runs super hot with turbo mode enabled (65 degrees Celsius on idle 90-120 degrees on load) with the stock cooler.

Other Thoughts: I am very happy with this processor and would highly roccomend it to anybody looking for a cheap processor that will do good at whatever you throw at it.

5 out of 5 eggsReally Nice

Pros: Linux supported(Lubuntu 14.10 64 bit & Lubuntu 14.04.2 64 bit). These 2 Linux distros gave me 13-16 second boot times, from the time I pressed the power button to the time it was ready to use! Apparently this AMD A8 5600K is a very good fit with the rest of my computer. This cpu idles at about 30c. Overall, I am very happy with this cpu/computer. Well done AMD.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: What I have:
1. motherboard - Biostar Hi-Fi A88W 3D
2. cpu - AMD A8 5600K
3. cpu cooler - Cooler Master Vortex Plus CPU Cooler (RR-VTPS-28PK-R1)
4. graphics/video card - Evga Geforce gt 740 2gb gddr5 pci express 3.0
5. ram - G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model F3-14900CL8D-8GBXM
6. case - Apevia X-master-bk/500 ATX
7. power supply - Cooler Master Elite v2 550 watt
8. ssd - Kingston 120gb

5 out of 5 eggsGreat bargain

Pros: -Stable
-Runs Cool
-Good price

Cons: Not as powerful as the Pentium line

Other Thoughts: I do heavy PC gaming and this chip has been fantastic. It's also a great price and another positive experience for me with the AMD brand. I have an upgraded fan and cooling paste, and this chip stays around 32C.

5 out of 5 eggsa series fan

Pros: cheap
onboard graphics

Cons: tdp

Other Thoughts: i have had this chip for 7 months and its great for mainstream use and gaming on the weekends when your using a graphics card. the on board graphics are a great bonus if you have a video card that fails and you want to keep gaming. the onboard graphics are powerful enough to play titan fall for 6 hours nonstop using a slim profile close loop CPU cooler. this product was a great investment
