5 out of 5 eggsGreat Budget CPU

Pros: Nice budget Processor with APU. I didn't Overclock with it because even with better cooling this CPU is not the best choice for Over Clocking. This CPU is plenty fast enough for a great budget build, but don't expect blazing speed such as an Intel i5 would be. Do not listen to others that complain about the fan and heat sink it comes with. At stock speeds this processor stays plenty cool with it's stock cooler even under full load. This fan is not that loud and works fine. If ultra quiet and high performance cooling for Over clocking is what you want then why would you select this processor? It's designed to be a solid budget stock CPU with good ability to play most games at low settings without a graphics card. If performance Gaming is what you want then AMD makes a faster CPU without APU that you add a high end graphics card with. Using 8Gb of RAM and an SSD drive with Windows 8.1 this Processor boots fast and provides great all around performance for any budget build. I'm very satisfied with it.

Cons: None. It's a budget Processor and does what it's supposed to do at it's price point.

3 out of 5 eggsGood budget cpu

Pros: Good little CPU, lower cost than Intel but not as strong, but for the budget builds will do just fine.
On sale often, so can save a few more bucks
APU so no video card required, good for those Internet users.
Can overclock, got mine to 4.5GHz without care for heat on a budget mobo

Cons: Heat is a concern. Prime95 hitting this full load made temperature get a bit high. Sensors on board are sketchy, had lmsensors not able to report (known and not fixable according to dev) and CoreTemp reports nothing.
Not a true quad core. It is 2 physical cores that acts as 4. While not a huge problem for my builds (2), is a notice.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent for a Budget build

Pros: It is a nice processor. I have it at stock settings, and under heavy load I have seen it as high as 30 C. I used to use AMD's for all my builds, and I know they run hot, but this one is surprisingly cool on stock heatsink and fan.
This is my first build using an APU from AMD and it is not too terrible. I am not a huge fan of AMD Graphics. I have not tested any games, but I don't expect too much from it, so I won't be disappointed.
AMD has made the heatsink mounting process so much easier. I am pleased for that.

Cons: I don't think I will ever be happy with any of the multi-core processors. There isn't enough programs out there that can really take full advantage.
I don't know how well I can trust AMD's temperature sensors. This has been a problem for me since their Phenom series, and I have no idea if they really fixed it. At one point, the temp was reporting as 0 C. I know it is not that cold. Even on liquid I can not get my i7 that low (lowest I get is 15 C)

Other Thoughts: This was the processor for a budget build for a family computer. I know it will do well for what it will be used for. Again, I switched from AMD to Intel for a reason, and I have been happy with Intel, but AMD never disappoints at first. Takes some time, but this is years later. I don't see this really doing well under intense loads judging from what I see Windows Update doing to it, but then again, who knows. Only time will tell.

4 out of 5 eggsFast

Pros: Painless install. Computer runs very fast and responsive with no problems with stability at all.

Cons: Stock cooler isn't quite enough and tends to run hot! Same issue with my other APU. I'd say they all need to be upgraded or replaced with an aftermarket cooler.

Other Thoughts: I love AMD but I'm getting a little tired of the cheap coolers they come with. My older builds came with much better stock coolers than these. I'm going to replace all of them from the start from now on because I don't approve of my APU running at over 80c while at idle even with a good quality thermal compound in use.

5 out of 5 eggsI'm impressed

Pros: Fast little cpu for what you pay. Integrated gpu negates need for video card. Performs what it's asked to do - video streaming, web surfing, email - with ease.

Cons: None that I can think of. I used to go with AMD all the time until Intel started beating them in performance with the introduction of the Core2Duo. I still use Intel for gaming, but for everyday computing there's no reason to. And I'm sure if I added a discreet video card this cpu would game just fine.

Other Thoughts: I got this as part of a combo deal that I bought to put together a multimedia system, and this cpu is perfect for that. Total bill for system, with a thrown in DVD drive was $274, and that's with an SSD and a HDD. Throw in a copy of Win 8.1 and you've got a decent little system. Glad I didn't go with one of those book sized computers.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Daily Worker APU

Pros: *Configurable TDP - 45w / 65w
*Very affordable price - purchased on sale for 65 bones
*Smooth Performer in the calc heavy KML reports we run
*Paired with the Transcend SSD - Windows 8.1 boots in to the desktop in 12 Seconds and is ready to go by 25.
*Overall Excellent Value

Cons: *Power Usage at load is a tad high - by a tad I mean 120 Watts peak with 4 instances of CPU BurnIn 100% on all cores. :( This was on the 45w TDP setting in the bios!!! Soooo, yeah... i didn't bother testing the 65w setting as the number would probably be worse lol.

Other Thoughts: Purchased as a new Data Team / Developer PC build for a new employee it easily meets our new team members needs dealing with the heavy data loads he throws at it. We paired this APU with a Gigabyte GA-F2A58M-HD2 board, 8GB of Corsair 1866 Ram & a Transcend 128GB SSD powered by an Antec Earthwatts 380w 80+ certified PSU. Numbers below were observed on the 45w setting, and considering how well it performed I saw no reason to crank it up to 65w.

Idle - Lowest observed 23w Avg. 24.5 to 25w
Moderate Use - 34.5w - 42w (Youtube videos, web browsing, etc)
Moderate / Heavy - 65 - 78w
Load - KML & Google Earth, CPU BurnIn - 78w Avg. 100w Max

As for temperatures, I don't think CPUID's HW Monitor is accurate with temperatures for these APU's at times. HW Monitor gave me the following numbers.

Idle: 38c, Use: 42-55c Load: 87c

After seeing the 87c max after running CPU BurnIn and putting my finger to socket and it not feeling anywhere near that temp I broke out my Rosewill Laser Thermometer for a second opinion. Ans as I suspected the temps were no where near 87. I ran BurnIn again and saw 56c with a peak of 63c. So,if you get this chip and use CPUID...subtract 20c from what you see and that's is more accurate. No way was 38c idle correct when I touched the sink and it was cold. So there you have it... I'd still recommend it as its a great performer and won't disappoint you.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect

Pros: Amazing value, You definitely get more then you pay for.

Cons: It can run a little hot sometimes by even just doing basic things

Other Thoughts: This processor is awesome and has blown through all of my expectations. This is my first AMD processor (I've always been an Intel guy) and It has been really good so far. My only complaint would be that it can run warmer then it should by doing just the simplest of things but if you have a good case like I do then that shouldn't be a problem. Many are complaining about the stock heat sink that comes with the processor but so far for me It's been doing really well

5 out of 5 eggs7 months update, still great

Pros: well I have had this running with 8gb of 2133 ram for about 7 months now and it is rock stable, I have upgraded the stock cooling to a water cooler I had laying around and it runs so cool now, it plays saints row 3/4 on med settings on a 1080p monitor so it is a great budget gamer. but it does most of its time on the internet and light gaming.

Cons: its not free but is a great deal for any low cost work home or gaming system.

5 out of 5 eggspretty good

Pros: Fast, easily over clocked, the GPU portion can go up to 1GHZ with only a slight increase in voltage to the north bridge. can play older games with all the settings maxed out and newer ones like Watch_Dogs and Thief on low settings.

Cons: Happy with the quality of the product itself, but the included heat sink is a joke. Do not over clock with stock, the inclusion of the GPU makes it run very hot.
