5 out of 5 eggsAMD a4-5300

Pros: I paired this APU with a ASUS A55BM-a MB and booted it up. Off the bat I put windows 7 (windows 8 is terrible and takes up alot of ram. With the apu and windows 8 it took a little over 1gb of ram from me.) This APU is nice, its very fast and can handle everything I need. I play counter strike a lot and this runs CSS with ease on high settings. Newer games you would probably want to upgrade to a better GPU.

Cons: None, it starts right up and runs things as fast as i could ask for. Glad i bought this chip. for the price it is well worth it.

2 out of 5 eggsVery slow; spend $10 more, get the A6 instead

Pros: Low price, it does work.

Cons: As a system builder, this "CPU" is one of the slowest I have tested in a long time. Reminds me of the old Semprons, but this may even be slower. I have built not one, but several systems with this APU and have been disappointed with the performance every time.

Two years ago AMD sold the Athlon II X2 250 CPU for the same price and it was faster than this. The primary difference is that now AMD is putting the GPU on-board with the CPU instead of it being bundled on the motherboard. A mistake in my opinion: it over-taxes the processor slowing it WAY down in this low end model. Seriously, spend $10 more and get the A6 if you are looking for a good budget system that you want to be happy with. You will be glad you did.

5 out of 5 eggsLove this CPU

Pros: I love the CPU! It is a great CPU for most people. Fast and smooth running. Have always got AMD CPU's and never had a bad one.

Cons: None that I have found!

Other Thoughts: My only other thought is I should of bought the quad core as I have been doing a lot of video stuff and it shows my CPU usage when doing it very high.

5 out of 5 eggsAMD A4 5300 APU w/Radeon HD 7480D gfx review

Pros: This has been very high and has gotten me by for a year happily with no discreet card. Playing World of Warcraft at medium settings with shadows off and water quality low at avg 40-45 FPS 25m raiding I have been pretty happy with the quality of this product. i have also streamed while playing and frapsed while playing with 0 issues. other then the drop in FPS you would normally expect. playing 1080p vids on YouTube full screen runs with out a hitch.

Cons: None really. had one issue where I went a little longer then normal for internal cleaning, and my AMD catalyst alerted me to a High CPU Temp, but I guess that would be more of a Pro as it kept me from burning it up. nothing a shutdown and blow out and clean with a cotton swap and alcohol on the fins didn't fix...keep it clean and it runs cool.... obviously. if your worried about temps use an aftermarket cooler. house gets upwards of 85 degrees in the winter months (wood heat) so I'm happy I have a great flowing case for cool temps.

Other Thoughts: I have hit a cross road on this build on a budget. reusing HDD and DVD Drive I have kept it under 400 dollars by nabbing reasonable deals while still planning on future upgrades. now that I hit that time, Because this APU/CPU has been so great, I am dealing with the decision of either going Discreet high end graphics card, cheaper mid-end X-fire setup, or just spending a equal amount of money on a stronger APU from AMD and get better quality graphics.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Bought this locally for less than $50. Runs quick for an entry level APU with trinity. Graphics are more than enough for my purposes. And easily hits turbo speed at 3.6 seamlessly.

Cons: Runs warm, but what AMD doesn't?? And 1600 ddr3 it still runs 1333. Not a huge problem but won't deduct an egg considering I came from a DDR2 board with AGP.

5 out of 5 eggsSo pleased!!!

Pros: Price and performance, ease of use

Cons: None for the price and expectations

Other Thoughts: With 4GB of Cosair 1333 XMS RAM (no graphics card) it creams FSX Gold at max settings.

I've used two of these in two budget builds; for their mission they are absolutely stellar!
