  • newegg New Piledriver microarchitecture Piledriver microarchitecture is the second generation of AMD Bulldozer microarchitecture. The internal core structure has been modified for higher frequencies even without any changes in the manufacturing process. Piledriver has a more precise branch predictor and a larger instruction window with ISA extensions FMA3 and F16C. The execution units acquired an enhanced scheduler and learned to process individual instructions faster, such as integer and floating-point division. And Piledriver microarchitecture delivers higher power efficiency compared with Bulldozer microarchitecture.
  • newegg Unlocked AMD FX processor with 8 Piledriver cores The native 8-core desktop processor delivers unrivaled multitasking and pure core performance with the new Piledriver microarchitecture. 32 nanometer die shrink was designed to reduce leakage for improved efficiency, increased clock rate headroom and better thermals. The AMD unlocked technology offers more headroom for your overclocking (AMD’s product warranty does not cover damage caused by overclocking even when overclocking is enabled via AMD Overdrive software.).
  • newegg AMD Turbo technology The AMD FX Processors come equipped with AMD Turbo CORE Technology, a performance boosting technology that helps increase performance on the applications that need it the most.
  • newegg Amazing instruction capabilities Like Bulldozer, Piledriver has some amazing instruction capabilities. Advanced Vector Extensions (AVX) increase parallelism tailored for scientific and 3D applications that use heavy floating point calculations. Floating Point Vector Multiply-Accumulate improves throughput and performance on many vector functions (integer and floating point). Advanced Encryption Standard noticeably increases performance on the latest encryption applications like TrueCrypt and benchmarks like PCMark.
  • newegg AMD Hypertransport technology HyperTransport Technology (HT or HTT) is a high-speed, low latency, point-to-point link which helps reduce the number of buses in a system thus reducing system bottlenecks and enabling today's faster microprocessors to use system memory more efficiently in high-end multiprocessor systems.
  • newegg Integrated DRAM Controller with AMD Memory Optimizer Technology AMD FX Vishera Processor features a high-bandwidth, low-latency integrated memory controller that supports faster and low voltage memories and provides new Pre-Fetcher improvements and direct communications to each core in Dual-Core module (APIC registers in each core).

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Core....BUT....

Pros: Easy to install, super fast, easy to overclock.
Great value, smooth running.

Cons: Stock cooler IS NOT ENOUGH. DO NOT USE IT...

Other Thoughts: So this is a wonderful part for my rig, but, as other users pointed out, the stock fan just doesn't cut it for keeping this beast cool. I went with a cooler master fan, and it runs beautifully. Overclocked my computer runs at 4.3Ghz easily.

5 out of 5 eggsPlenty of computing power

Pros: Runs cool.
Comes with decent heatsink/fan.
Plenty of power. Does well with heavy loads (compiling, rendering, games, etc).

Cons: Included heatsink/fan is a bit loud, but works ok. I didn't realize it came with a cooler, so I bought an after-market one. Used the stock sink for about 2 months, then replaced with aftermarket. Aftermarket was much quieter, and a bit cooler.

Not really a complaint. Just saying...

Other Thoughts: This might be better for a server running many lighter processes than a game box running only a few heavy ones. Still, it is much more than adequate for all my gaming and productivity needs, and generally doesn't even have to break a sweat.

5 out of 5 eggsBeast CPU for thy money.

Pros: Eight logical cores, when multi-core is active in programs make for flawless performance.
Best CPU for your money as stated in the title.

Cons: None unless if you count heat but if you have a premium $100+ cooler like I do is not an issue.

Other Thoughts: 10/10, 4/2, 3/3, 16/16, would recommend.

5 out of 5 eggsFast

Pros: The processor is quick. I render tons of videos all day, and this one keeps up at it all these years. Haven't overclocked it, but I probably should!

Cons: Heat sink is very very loud. When the processor is being used slightly...during every day computerizing, it sounds fine, but when you put it into high gear, for example during video rendering, it's VERY LOUD. I recommend getting another cooler. 212 EVO works great for a cheap price and is nearly silent.

5 out of 5 eggsYou can't go wrong with this one

Pros: Handles whatever I throw at it without a problem. Over clocked pretty easily although I didn't really try to push it. I upgraded from a Phenom 755 Black Edition and it used to take 45+ minutes to encode a video, it now takes around 20 with this processor. The CPU has never locked up on me once.

Cons: If you overclock it you will need want to upgrade the CPU fan. I switched to a liquid cooled CPU fan and it went from 50c-60c to 20c-30c.

Pros: Works out the box.

overall good buy people.

Hooked up with asus sabertooth 990 r2.0
8 gigs ram
evga gtx 760 2gb 256 ddr5

5 out of 5 eggsAbsolute Beast

Pros: This CPU is incredible, the 8350 is the best bang for your buck available. This eight core processor makes multi-tasking effortless as you can have lots of programs running at once without suffering performance drops. Supposedly overclockable to 5GHz, Idk I've never tired it. But if that's true that would give it the 1GHz head room you could expect from more performance oriented Intel CPUs which is incredible. Thank you AMD for this AWESOME CPU

Cons: The only complaint I have about this product, and this is in no way the CPU's fault, is that no games right now take advantage of the eight cores. So if you are looking for the best performing gaming PC possible there are still better Intel options but this processor competes with many in Intel's Core i line even many i7s, and as far as getting your moneys worth there is absolutely no better option than the FX 8350 (especially since Intel's only eight core is over $1000, and it is great having eight cores believe me). Also if you do overclock this CPU to its higher frequency you will REALLY want a liquid CPU cooler because you'll be running it at 1.5v PER core meaning its going to be very hot, and an air cooler will not do the job.

Other Thoughts: Going from a laptop with an A6-4400M, to my current gaming rig containing the FX 8350 and a R9 290x is like night and day. Never buy a laptop for gaming they are terrible (not that i had a gaming laptop). No one should have to run DOTA 2 on lowest settings. That's just inhumane. Also don't waste money on a 9370 or 9590 all three are really the same processor, just different multipliers out of the box.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: very fast, great for personal docs, office programs, etc

Cons: online gaming, freezes up constantly, cannot perform dual channel ram well

Other Thoughts: on a performance note, looks good on paper, should have bought INTEL

5 out of 5 eggsOC champ

Pros: New FX line from AMD. Over clocks like a champ at a much lower cost. I am running this chip at 4.9Gh. Had to raise the CPU volts to 1.45 and it is completely stable. Have a CM 212 with 2 120mm fanes in push pull config. no problem with heat.

Cons: nun
