5 out of 5 eggsAMD A10-5700 65W

Pros: This is my first HTPC build and I wanted HD graphics, digital sound and low power (65w). I get a 6.5 on the video scores. Wow, on a chip. HD video and digital sound are output on my motherboard HDMI port. I am very impressed.
It stays cool with the stock fan and sleeps when not in use down to 5w. I haven't tried any games yet, but a 6.5 should work fine. It also came with thermal paste already on the chip. A nice touch.

Cons: The paperwork that it comes with has type that is so small that you will need a flashlight and a magnifying glass to read it. If they had a video online instead, that would be SO COOL. How hard would it be to make one -how to install video- with 10 languages or subtitles.

Other Thoughts: I couldn't get the HDMI sound working all night, but the next day after it booted up, there it was.

5 out of 5 eggsPowerful

Pros: Powerful cores in a small package, easy installation, no fussing with thermal paste (if you choose). Works like a charm, overclocks with just a few clicks with my UEFI MSI motherboard

Cons: None yet!

Other Thoughts: This was my first build, HTPC setup. I liked the fact that the heatsink was ready to install onto the processor but I personally used the Arctic Silver brand Silver thermal compound to ensure the best conduction. This thing hasn't run above 37C yet.

Pros: * Great GPU Performance
* Low Power
* Low Heat
* Inexpensive

Cons: * CPU can't keep up with (much more expensive) Core i5/i7 processors)

Other Thoughts: CPU performance may be behind more expensive Intel chips, but the difference is narrow enough that things which feel slow (compiling source code, transcoding media) might go a little faster on an i5 or i7 but will still feel slow there too.

I use a lot of virtual machines, and the 4 cores provided by this cheap chip means my system and my virtual systems all remain responsive no matter what is going on.

I'm even able to leave my virtual machines for work running while I do some gaming, and everything runs smooth.

I was hoping the GPU would be enough to run Minecraft. Turns out it can do that and a whole lot more. I have another machine with a dedicated GT450 and was surprised how little a step down this GPU was. It vastly outperforms the GT450 at mining bitcoins (70Mh/s vs 35Mh/s).

The included heatsink+fan combo is very quiet. The low power and heat has allowed me to take out all but one case fan in my system, for a nearly silent system that still stays plenty cool.

5 out of 5 eggsI'm sold

Pros: Everything, right now it's online and running @ 80.6 F on stock cooler and paste, MB @ 73.4, WEI @ 7.2/7.3/6.8/6.8/5.9 stock right out of the boxes!

Cons: Pulls 2x the power of my nightlight at idle........LOL

Other Thoughts: This APU runs circles around my 8350 for everyday PC use, be sure to use a Advanced Format Disk or SSD with Vista/7-8 and your desktop will (pop) like your running XP.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat CPU for HTPC

Pros: I chose this APU for my HTPC build do to its price, power and integrated video. I am glad to say I was not disappointed. AMD as a great product here and I am absolutely surprised at its performance. I have it currently running Win7 w/Media Center and has been flawless. Video through HDMI at 1080p looks great, plays great and frame rates on all the file types have been perfect (for me). I have it paired with 8 GB 1866 MHz memory and SDD. It boots in 5 seconds and does everything I could ask more and more from an HTPC.

Cons: The stock fan is quite bad. It doesn't provided optimal cooling for this APU and is also kind of load. Not worth taking an egg off since I never use the stock heat fan, but I would suggest you use an after market fan this.

Other Thoughts: This is a great product and I am glad to see AMD starting to bring something amazing back to market. I would like to see how the next gen APU's "Richland" will perform with GCN integrated graphics.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for a Budget Gaming Setup

Pros: I am using this processor in a gaming setup paired with a Radeon 6850. Every game I have played runs great with graphics options turned up to maximum at 2560x1440. The games I play are Dishonored, EverQuest II, Call of Duty: Black Ops, Defense Grid: The Awakening, The Walking Dead, and Battlefield 3. While the gaming performance can be attributed mainly to the video card, at least the processor doesn't seem to hold it back. With a 65 watt TDP, the chip does not draw much power. Real world performance is great. Excellent value.

Cons: The included CPU fan has a noticeable whine to it, but only when the room is quiet. Depending on usage, you might do well to get a quieter cooler.

Other Thoughts: I bought this chip specifically for a cheap Mini ITX build and it performs admirably at a great price. I have not run any tests on the integrated graphics alone, but paired with a discrete video card, this chip does a fine job with games.

5 out of 5 eggs4.0 GHz Turbo, Quad-Core, GRAPHICS, and 65W

Pros: * 65 watts - wow
* Quad-core
* Decent graphics
* Good price

Cons: * Graphics are not a powerful as discrete graphics card

Other Thoughts: I love this processor! You purchase this chip and, guess what, you do not have to purchase a graphics card! This chip includes built-in graphics! My wife is hooked up with two 23" monitors using this chip. My kids play on this computer and they can play all of their games -- no problem. I love the fact that this chip is only 65 watts. I can leave it running all day for the price of a small light bulb.

5 out of 5 eggsReally Nice!

Pros: I consider this a great buy. With 8GB DDR 1333 RAM, runs World of Tanks at 25 fps, medium settings at 1920x1080 res. With faster RAM or a good video card, one could build a great budget gaming system with it.

I built my wife a small system for web browsing, video editing and general computing tasks. However, this chip is no slouch.

Cons: I don't know of any cons.

Other Thoughts: This is a versatile APU.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent value

Pros: Reasonable price, outstanding graphics for an integrated solution, plenty of performance for everyday use.

Cons: CPU fan is kind of loud. If you primarily use your computer to run synthetic benchmarks, or rate your self worth by your Windows Experience Index, you will be disappointed.

Other Thoughts: Plays old games like Call of Duty 2 at 1920x1080 with no problems, Linux Mint installs with no driver issues, what's not to like?

5 out of 5 eggsQuite Impressed

Pros: Powerful budget build CPU /w graphics

Cons: None yet

Other Thoughts: After getting the system up, I decided to see how well the integrated gpu ran. Loaded Left 4 Dead 2 on it and have the settings at 1600x900 resolution, everything on max except AA and Anio (which were both at 4x) and was able to get an astounding 45-60fps. I was not expecting this from an integrated GPU and can only imagine the power combined with another AMD graphics card. For a really cheap gaming build, choose this!!
