3 out of 5 eggsSwitched away from FX, and for good reason.

Pros: Still cheap as all heck.
Still has 6 cores.
Still can run games "alright".

Cons: Power hungry little thing.
Minimum framrates in games aren't good.
Money could be better spent.

4 out of 5 eggsDefinitely got the job done.

Pros: Upgraded from a Phenom II X4 965 to this, saw a noticeable difference when multitasking. No significant increase in FPS when gaming (tested in GTAV and Dragon Age:Inquisition), but It did seem to fix some stuttering issues I've been having for a while.

Stock heatsink works pretty well, but is very loud. Non-overlocked was getting about 35C-41C idle, and a consistent 64C while under a Prime95 stress test. Not the best numbers, but mind you I live in a very hot part of California.

Cons: Like I said, the stock heatsink is loud. Not only that, but it starts to produce an almost hissing banshee-like sound when under heavy load. Do yourself a favor and be prepared to switch this thing out ASAP. It's so bad I can hear it though my headphones (albeit they're on-ear), and so can everyone in my vent server.

As much as I would like to list the lack of a real frame increase as a con, from an objective standpoint I have to admit you get what you paid for.

Other Thoughts: If you're looking for a decent upgrade that won't break the bank, this should easily do the job.

However, know that this will be almost obsolete next year when the AM4 socket is released along with the Zen line. I was really just looking for something to hold me over till then when I bought this, and can confidently say that it will.

4 out of 5 eggsSad, sad day =(

Pros: -Decently fast
-Overclocks super easy (I only went up to about 4.2 though)
-Great price for a budget system
-Will get you through general use blazingly fast

Cons: -Not an intel, but you knew that.
-Noticeably bottlenecks high end GPUs

Other Thoughts: Bought this back in February to upgrade from an aging Phenom 965. Definitely saw an upgrade. That being said, after pairing with a GTX970 on many new games (GTA5 especially) this CPU is a huge bottleneck, even when overclocked. The performance gap between AMD and Intel chipsets is becoming much larger now a days with new games demanding more from CPUs. You can pull up many benchmarks and see for yourself. Unfortunately, Looks like I will be upgrading to either an i5 or i7 (most likely i5) very shortly. Hopefully I can put this, with some parts I have lying around, and load it off on craigslist. I've used AMD cpus exclusively for the last 10 years and it really saddens me to see this, more so than I feel comfortable admitting. If you're trying to decide between AMD or Intel. I would, sadly, have to recommend the blue guys over the red. Especially if you're running a higher end GPU.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid CPU

Pros: High speed, plenty of threads - Ran multiple Server 2012 VMs simultaneously, runs modern games (GTA V, COD) on max (along with a GTX970)
Great price/ performance

Cons: No more logical threads beyond stated core count (a la Intel)
Despite speed, this CPU earned me the achievement in 3dmark (firestrike) for your GPU being way more powerful than your CPU.

Other Thoughts: Worth it for a value gaming build

5 out of 5 eggsFX-6350

Pros: This thing can overclock to 5.4ghz and still work like nothing has happened! i dont recommend doing this as it lowers life span, but if you want a powerful gaming cpu then this is the way to go.

Cons: Runs very hot. Stock cpu cooler sucks. Highly recommend buying a liquid cooler to keep this thing cool.

5 out of 5 eggsFast and gets it done!

Pros: At 3.9Ghz stock this chip is fast and it shows. Opening applications is almost instantaneous and multi tasking is incredibly. I can be switching between Photoshop, Pandora, YouTube, cities skylines and more without any slowdowns! And as an added benefit this chip never got hotter hotter than 34℃!

Cons: Non whatsoever!

3 out of 5 eggsAMD FX-6350 Vishera 6-Core 3.9GHz Socket AM3+ 125W FD6350FRHKBOX Desktop Processor

Pros: Fast usually dependable

Cons: Warranty the hoops you have to jump thru, first one I have ever had go bad. Amd does not make it easy to get an RMA, they said my processor doesn't exist take pictures send them. Probably wouldn't complain if it was not my lively hood, I build and repair for a living . I'm now out quiet a bit of money had to cover everything with the customer

Other Thoughts: Some faster service on Rma's would be good, a real person would be good.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat gaming cpu.

Pros: Handles any game on max settings and doesn't complain. Threw a Zalman cooler on it, and it never goes above 55C on the highest load.
Overclocked to 4.2 Ghz with no fuss or instability. I have never seen a performance to cost cpu like this one. I WILL get another one for an upcoming build.

Cons: Stock hsf is less effective than aftermarket models and is WAY TOO LOUD! Plan on an aftermarket cooler if you get this cpu.

Other Thoughts: If you have the money to spare, and want the absolute best, then intel is the way to go. If you just want WAY cpu more than you need to play games at max settings for a bargain price, AMD is the answer. This cpu will not disappoint!

5 out of 5 eggsBang for the BUCK!

Pros: Probably the best bang for buck CPU on the market
Runs cool
Does it's job and then some

Cons: Still lags behind Intel chips. But that's expected
Cruddy stock heatsink. Also expected

Other Thoughts: Looking from the price point this is easily the most powerful CPU you can buy for so little money. I am using a low profile cooler (Coolermaster GeminII M4) and it stays very cool even with a mild overclock to 4.1ghz. It actually idles under ambient temperature, which is a first for me.

Have had no problem running any games at 1080p. Including Evolve, which is a bit of a demanding game.

For a budget build, get this chip, you will absolutely love it.

5 out of 5 eggsYes Sir, May I have Another

Pros: I bought this on sale just befor the Christmas holidays 2014. So far it has performed flawlessly and I have no complaints what so ever. I replace the stock heat sink during the build with a Cooler Master 212 EVO and I've sussesfully OC'd it to 4.48Ghz prime 95 stable 57deg C. I only use this CPU for gaming so I cant say how well it performs at other tasks.

Cons: None so far!
