5 out of 5 eggsAMD Athlon 750k review

Pros: CHEAP.... can't beat the price/performance ratio of this thing, once everything was setup, it (along with my GTX 750TI and 4GB of DDR3) tears through EVERYTHING (running Titanfall, nearly maxed out at 60+ FPS)
Great starting peice for a $400~500 gaming PC

Cons: Runs a tad bit warm for my liking, but no hiccups after it has proper thermal paste on it
The stock cooler is loud, but not unbearably so after it runs for awhile

Other Thoughts: my new (steam)Box
Athlon x4 750k
MSI A 55-E35m FM2+
4gb G.Skill Ripjaws X DDR3 1866
EVGA GTX 750Ti
Rosewill Challenger Case with EVGA 500W PSU

5 out of 5 eggsAMD Athlon X4 750k

Pros: High clock speed, 4 cores, and does amazing in games. An easy over clock for those interested. Great for value gaming or just a good PC CPU.

Cons: Doesn't have integrated graphics! So you need a Graphics card (GPU). The included cooler is ok, just not great.

5 out of 5 eggsEntry Level Gamer on a Budget PERFECTION!!

Pros: *Best Quad Core CPU for the money bar none!
*High performer, great for entry level gaming / multimedia systems
*Just all around great CPU... impressed!
*Perfect chip for a $350 entry level gaming PC

Cons: *Somewhat high power usage. I clocked 149w @ Load during Tera Online gaming sessions.

Other Thoughts: Friend of mine needed an upgrade from a system I built her a few years ago. Originally built for watching movies on her 42in LCD TV, system specs were as follows:

AMD Sempron LE-1100
3GB DDR2 667Mhz Ram
80GB HDD
Sapphire Radeon HD5450 256MB

Poor girl got hooked on Tera Online and was getting max of 7 to 10 fps!! LoL NPC's were just outlines and the landscape was at the lowest possible settings. Was sad. Having put the 750k at the heart of her new machine was the right choice!

Rosewill Ranger-M - 39.99
AMD 750k Quad Core 79.99
Biostar A58MDP FM2+ 49.99
G.Skill Ripjaws X 4GB 44.99
WD Blue 1TB HDD 59.99
MSI HD6670 GDDR5 - 42.00 (used)
Ultra LS350w PSU (from old system)
Total: 316.95!!

New system has greatly improved her gaming experience. 7 fps to 30+. Resolution & smoothness is higher, just overall great system for just over 300 bucks. I highly recommend this system for entry level gaming, productivity or anything on a budget. She is over the moon. Make your friends and clients happy. Buy this CPU.. you won't be disappointed.

5 out of 5 eggsFast and cheap

Pros: This CPU replaces an Athlon II X4 640 propus. The difference is very clear in increased performance - 30 more FPS in Just Cause 2, for example. Here are a couple more advantages. Although the 750k runs a little warmer by 2-4C at load, overall system heat is considerably cooler. My previous board's northbridge ran near 33 C over ambient and the CPU ran near 5C over ambient, in a CPU-only custom water loop. In a very similar water loop, the northbridge is only 2-4C over ambient and the CPU at load is only 10C over ambient resulting in a much cooler overall system. I live in a hot climate, therefore, a cooler system is appreciated. Lastly, this CPU is making much better use of memory than my previous CPU. Overall, I'm very pleased.

Cons: I guess that other chips might be faster, but cost and cool running are getting my vote.

5 out of 5 eggsGood 4 core starter

Pros: For a starter build (like mine), HTPC (if you have an old GPU nearby), this will be cost efficient IMO.
Easily Overcloackable, does enough for what I need at this price (light gaming, WoW, D3, Borderlands 2, etc.), fits FM2+ socket.
Don't forget, this is not an A8 APU. There's no GPU included here.

Cons: None at the moment!

Other Thoughts: -Rosewill Galaxy-01 Black Gaming ATX Mid Tower
-GIGABYTE GA-F2A88XM-D3H FM2+ / FM2
-AMD Athlon X4 750K
-APEVIA ATX-CW500WP4 500W
-ADATA Premier Pro SP900 SSD 64GB
-Western Digital WD10EZEX 1TB 7200 RPM Blue
-CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 1600Mhz
-ZOTAC GeForce GTX 650 Ti 1GB PCIe 3.0
-ASUS Xonar D1 7.1 Channels

5 out of 5 eggsNice processor

Pros: Nice little processor. Did a simple build with my younger son. Built a Phenom 2 955 a few years ago and it's still running great. Always go AMD. This chip was cheap and runs great. Running cool with the heatsink that came with my old phenom chip. Pros? Cheap, Quad Core, Unlocked, Did I mention cheap?

Cons: Stock heat sink is KERAP, but who would use it anyway.

Other Thoughts: $80 quad core chip paired with a $60 fm2 mobo, $75 worth of ddr3 memory and we've got a nice little starter system. Just need to figure out what GPU to pair with it.

2. Quad Core
3. Good Clock Speed

Great processor, Good job AMD

Cons: 1. Stock cooler is just alright. out of 100 it would get a 65
2. In terms of wattage, its a little on the inefficient side of things

5 out of 5 eggsA lot of CPU for little money

Pros: This cpu paired with an a55m-e33 motherboard was a great upgrade over my aging Wolfdale Core 2 Duo. Frame rates are up in games, everything opens faster, and movies encode in under 5 minutes!

Cons: The stock cooler is a little flaky, but adequate if you're running stock speeds.

Other Thoughts: After reading reviews for weeks and trying to find the best CPU I could buy on a budget that would keep the wife happy, this is what I settled on.
Extremely happy with my purchase.

3 out of 5 eggsGetting Hot

Pros: Price $79.99. Quad-Core. Cheap decent gaming CPU

Cons: HWMonitor and Speecy show CPU temperatures at 70c just running regular net surfing. But then Bios shows 32c. So I am not sure if it is overheating or not. Stock heatsink and thermal paste properly attached. Anyone having the same problem?
