5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Processor

Pros: This is a great value. Easy to overclock. Responds to loads well as any quad-core should. A decent, lower cost alternative to a lesser performing i7

Cons: It only works with FM2 and FM2+ boards, which limits selection somewhat

Other Thoughts: Would definitely get this again. A quality APU

5 out of 5 eggsgreat APU for the NEW enthusiast

Pros: It's a shame all the big sites only consider an "enthusiast " as someone who is willing to spend thousands on a computer that sorta grumpily plays games and mines dubious coins, sounds like a vacuum cleaner, sucks down electricity, and could melt an igloo while lit up like a Christmas tree. Apparently you have to *get* the math where you wind up paying substantially more for an unstable, overclocked CPU + cooler than you would have for a stable CPU rated for that speed. Whatever. I'm sure it is all about advertising from high-margin-earning advertisers for those sites. They probably laugh at "enthusiasts" like their fanboys.

Really, though, I get it. Some people like to tinker and they don't care about the price. But listening to them you would think that any AMD APU was garbage below contempt, though.

If you are a NEW enthusiast like me, though, you will probably love this processor (and you can tinker with it all you want, too). On the desktop you will never know you are not using an i7, you will be able to play most games just fine at reasonable rates / resolutions, your wallet will thank you, and you still get to build your own computer. Sure, if you have special needs like engineering or whatever then get something else.

Cons: Needs fast DRAM? I have some, so I'm not sure if I need it or not, but that is what the "enthusiasts" say.

5 out of 5 eggsGreatest

Pros: I put mine in my year old : MSI FM2-A75MA-E35 FM2 AMD A75 (Hudson D3) HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard.

I dunno where they will stop in the socket with a die shrink but I will want in.

These platforms are some of the best deals ever.

I was watching 4.4Ghz Turbos in Task Manger running AVs They do turbo that NO BRAINS INVOLVED. BUT I do have 2100 GeIL RAM to take up the overhead easily. Went off default 1600 up to 1900.

Not a flicker of trouble with higer than default RAM to be seen

Cons: I feel guilty not popping for a $200 PSU a $400 CPU and a $200 MOBO and getting what the :the big boys" had for perfomance a year ago.

Other Thoughts: I really want 2 games if AMD shrinks this down in the FM2 socket again or whatevs....LOL!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It works great and slid right in the CPU socket with out a problem.

Cons: The heat sink is a little bit of a pain to mount to the motherboard it for some reason they dont seem long enough but they are...if you mess with them for a little bit

5 out of 5 eggsGreat CPU

Pros: This processor at its base setting 4.1GHz with a decent GPU (Radeon 9 Series 270x) is running Everquest Next Landmark on ultra settings at 30 FPS. Once I get the water cooling unit I will overclock it and see how it runs. For the price the performance on this processor is fantastic.

Cons: The stock heatsink and fan are not good if your going to do any kind of modern day gaming. It gets up to 65c-70c pretty quick when you have a heavy load. Would recommend getting a water cool setup.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome CPU!

Pros: Speed is amazing, graphics are outstanding! 4GB video ram right out of the box (8gb ram), smooth gameplay, NO LAG! plays games from GTA3 to Staints Row IV and more! This thing can handle anything I through at it, rating in win 7 is about 6.0 which isnt the best but im sure a ram upgrade will raise it, all in all great CPU! came with heat sink and fan, thermal paste and a nice little case sticker :) 4.10 GHz all day (Win 7)

Cons: none!

5 out of 5 eggsA10-6800K

Pros: Reasonable pricing.
Excellent APU.
Stable.

Cons: Stock Heatsink, spend $30 and save yourself some grief.

Other Thoughts: Everyone keeps comparing this CPU to others that do not include an APU. Apples and Oranges people. You are correct in a number crunch this one will not compare. Take away your $300 GPU and your CPU crumbles. This Chip is not really meant for people that want their blade of grass at 500 yards to have a shadow in the breeze. It does what it was meant for, budget gaming with out a discrete GPU. I highly recommend getting 2133mhz ram though. It really does make a difference.
I purchased this for my son's rig and it does everything we want flawlessly. Next on the upgrade list would be a discrete GPU and this Chip will do that just fine.

ASUS A88XMA-A
A10-6800K
8gn G-Skill Sniper series RAM (nice and stable at 2133mhz)
Cooler Master Hyper 101 cooler (sits around 39c)
Cooler Master EX2 625 Power supply.
Thermaltake V3 Black AMD Edition Mid Tower Case (VL800P1W2N) (He loves the scorpion on the side)

5 out of 5 eggsA10 6800k ok for gaming

Pros: Cheep to buy, runs all the games ive thrown at it thus far.but iam also using a dedicated gpu aka my old radeon 6970.runs cool on the clc I bought for it.granted I havent tried the onboard graphics but why schould I if I dont have too lol.

Cons: None whatsoever!

Other Thoughts: I bought this apu for a dedicated steam machine, small form factor or living room pc whatever you wanna call it. I had 2 spare gpus sitting around so I installed one in the richland based system and I must say this little sucker flys, battlefield 2 1920x080 maxed out is in the 80 fps range, I paired it with the gigabyte a88x wifi motherboard, fractal node 304, coolermaster seidon 120 it never goes above 40c while gaming. I will continue to support amd cpus, this is my 3rd and rig. Fx 6100, fx 8350, A10 6800k.

5 out of 5 eggsHappy,Happy,Happy

Pros: Fast, Reliable, Good Graphics, great Price

Cons: High wattage for the speed compared to Intel so heat management is a must,.though I have had less heat related failures with AMD than I have had with Intel processors so they are doing something right.

Other Thoughts: Having used both AMD and Intel Processors over the years I have drifted to using AMD exclusively the last 3 years due to having too many heat related failures using Intel even with the best aftermarket coolers on the Intel's while using the stock AMD coolers on all but two of my AMD builds. The AMD's are all still running and all but this new unit are running between 31C - 40C depending on what I am running. This unit so far is running at 41C at idle and has gone up to 48C under moderate use, using a Gelid Slimhero cooler. Not sure yet if this is the processor, the cooler or the fact that in the case I am using the power supply fan sits right over and blows directly into the cpu cooler fan. Will experiment and update once I know what is going on. That being said this APU is fast and the graphics are perfect for my uses saving me a ton of cash by not having to buy a separate video card.

4 out of 5 eggsMedia and Light Gaming Option

Pros: Easy to OC. Great for light gaming and media.

Cons: Not worth the cost to invest in dual graphics.

Other Thoughts: This processor is a good option if you are looking to build a small media and light gaming system. It is completely not worth it for a real gaming system, as dual graphics is too much of an investment for the low performance: buy a 6670 and need 2133 RAM.
