4 out of 5 eggsWorks - price/performance

Pros: It works - Not DOA - But everyone expects it to work
Price/performance ratio is spot on for an htpc or low performance gaming

Cons: Hot - if used in an htpc, you need a more expensive heatsink to make sure it doesn't overheat, but it's expected with such a high tdp
Per core performance is way worse than even the g3258 - not for gaming with dedicated graphics - it bottlenecks most gpus that are more than $100

Other Thoughts: I bought it for daily use, but I need to upgrade for video editing and gaming. Served me well for what it was.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Good for basic multi-tasking.
low level gaming

Cons: Horrible for medium-high settings gaming
lack of processing power
when paired with good GPUs (major bottlenecking)

5 out of 5 eggsawesome apu

Pros: great apu, although I did upgrade graphics card later on to a gtx 960 4gb

Cons: the cpu is great, the gpu side is ok if youre not a big gamer but lacks the power to realy be a gaming rig

Other Thoughts: I tried crossfiring with a 6670 for a short time, not much benefit, still a good platform overall though. looking back might have just went with an fx

5 out of 5 eggsgreat apu

Pros: will play games some on higher settings than others. get a separate heat sink or not but do, it'll be all that better. your not going to max out games, that's why I got a r9 280 gaming gpu, and before you say anything I built this as a budget gaming pc that I added a gpu to after a year, complete build cost $350 at the time, and when I had more money I put in the gpu.

Cons: still going strong after a year and a half so I guess not.

4 out of 5 eggslow power apu

Pros: cheap
high clockspeeds
apu
can crossfire with a dedicated gpu
easy OC
Turbo is fast
surprisingly good preformance on games like war thunder, civ 5, Team Fortress 2, Minecraft, portal and a few others. mostly hovered around 50-60 fps without a gpu.

Cons: HOT using stock cooler and had to underclock
thats probably becuse i am extremly paranoid about cpu temps (first build)

4 out of 5 eggsOk does what it's supposed to

Pros: It does what it's supposed to do. I get 24 fps on warthunder with lows in the teens. World of tanks I get 20-22, those are pretty much all I play and no overclocks lol.

Cons: None so far

4 out of 5 eggsNot fully turbo but still even faster

Pros: Four cores, 4.1 GHz apiece, and being that it's "black edition" makes it more than likely that you can push the limits on it some more. This processor actually teamed up with my ASUS R7-250 video card and created a Dual Graphics configuration out of it.

Cons: Not once does it want to stay in its turbo frequency for longer than 30 seconds before the fans kick on. It doesn't even get to the rated turbo frequency on all of its cores.

Other Thoughts: Unless AMD can improve upon delivering more processing power with less heat, then you might want to get an aftermarket cooler, preferably with liquid cooling.
The Dual-Graphics thing is still fairly new to me, but it did improve framerates in Saints Row IV and in some Source Engine games. It's just not capable of handling the games by themselves.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Well

Pros: Works nice and fast. I don't game so can't speak for that, but for day to day computing works beautifully.
Stock fan keeps cool on stock setting.

Cons: Fan makes noise. (see below)

Other Thoughts: The fan makes some noise, and seems to vibrate. I have my computer on the Styrofoam that came with the case so that may be causing instability that contributes to the noise. The CPU stays cool. I don't overclock. I don't game.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Price, but Run Hot!

Pros: The price/performance ratio for this cpu is great, and not needing a dedicated graphics card is a real plus.

Cons: Runs very hot, as other have already mentioned. Don't even bother with the stock heatsink unless you live in an igloo. I've installed 6+ of these and this is not a one-off type of issue.

Other Thoughts: Plan on buying a quality heatsink if you don't want to blue screen. A well ventilated case is also a good idea. AMD, you should really know better by now...just box the cpu and ditch the OEM heatsink.
