5 out of 5 eggsBEST APU UNDER $100

Pros: Seriously, this thing is surprisingly powerful. Built a budget computer with this processor. Its quick and can play 3D games with relative ease on basic settings. For a chip with on-board graphics, this is the way to go. Graphics far exceed that Intel HD garbage. Great value!

Cons: NONE

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works just fine. Speeds are high without OC'ing.

Cons: I got it on sale, but normally it's cheaper to buy an FX-series if you are using a dedicated GPU

Other Thoughts: Bought this for a processor with no intention to use at as an APU because I was buying a dedicated GPU. I can only speak to the processing function not the graphics.

5 out of 5 eggsawesome

Pros: installed in a Gigabyte GA-F2A88X-D3H motherboard with Gskill F3-12800CL9D-4GBXL memory and using my old phenom 2 x4 stock 125w heat sink I had laying around. have it at 3.9 GHz stock voltage running onboard hd8570d graphics at 1066 mhz. temperature barely goes above 50 c when running games. and also upped my chip set voltage up a drop to be on the safe side.

Cons: none

4 out of 5 eggsAlmost Everything I Wanted it to Be

Pros: Processing Power
OK Graphics
Ease of use in Catalyst Control Center
Great all around unit.

Cons: Graphics aren't quite what thy were made out to be.
Graphics can only crossfire with low end graphics cards.
Better to use on board graphics as compute cores.
Without a 3rd party cooler if you are running on stock, the only way to REALLY keep it cool is honestly to underclock it.

Other Thoughts: All around great unit for a starter rig. low grade graphics, upgrade SOON. Get a better cooler for it with a nice motherboard, and it will probably do what it's designed to.

4 out of 5 eggsGood but not Good enough

Pros: Plays most graphic basic games at 60 fps, fast when web browsing and watching video at 1080p resolution. I watch twitch streams too and it rarely buffers.

Cons: Play games with complex graphics like battlefield 4 or Payday 2 i had to lower graphic settings down to medium or low and turn resolution to 720p or below. it also gets really hot when i try to render videos on sony vegas. also downloads very slowly compared to my other desktop.

Other Thoughts: The bult in graphics work pretty good with most small games like CS:go, Team fortress, or runescape. the heat sink and cooler work perfectly fine with this APU and it's not even that loud.

5 out of 5 eggsBig Buck Bang

Pros: This performed better than expected right out of the box. This was for a budget church build and this is the best cost/performance curve I could find for the application

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: There were serious budget constraints on this build. this chip gives a really great cost/benefit ratio and is easy to overclock.
I haven't used many AMD chip before, but if this is an indication, I'll use more of them.

5 out of 5 eggsGood APU

Pros: -high speed
-quad core
-no need for GPU as long as you're not playing the latest games at the highest settings
-AWESOME for a business setup

Cons: -If you pair this with an MSI motherboard and want to run Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, you WILL have to use a workaround in linux, it's something to do with ubuntu's graphics drivers. There's more information on the interweaving about it. It is a functional workaround that doesn't seem to affect performance on a business machine.
-Stock cooler sucks, but that's expected. If you plan on really pushing this APU, get an aftermarket air-cooler if you don't want to burn this thing up. It idles around 50C in a microatx with fans blowing directly onto it.

Other Thoughts: great low-cost high-performance APU solution for business or low-performance gaming situations. I doubt playing CoD on medium settings would run into any issues as long as you have an aftermarket heatsink/fan combo.

4 out of 5 eggsAMD A8-6600K Richland Quad-Core 3.9GHz Socket FM2 100W Desktop Processor - Black Edition AMD Radeon HD 8570D AD660KWOHLBOX

Pros: This processor is very powerful for it's price. You definitely get what you pay for. It has quad core AND 3.9 ghz. It easily over clocked to 4.2

Cons: Stock heatsink and fan aren't so great.

Other Thoughts: As long as you buy new thermal grease for your heatsink it should be fine. I went to a store and picked up some for $13 ( I wish i would've ordered it from here) and i don't really have any heat issues after that.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat CPU/APU

Pros: Fast. Lots of power. Quad-core.

Cons: Perhaps it does run a little warm. But, I'm using the heat sink and fan that comes with this APU and have had no problems. I don't know whether heavy graphics would change that.

Other Thoughts: I'm running Ubuntu GNU/Linux. I found that I had to install the Catalyst/fglrx drivers from AMD in order to get Linux to run in graphics mode (the Gnome desktop, for example).

4 out of 5 eggsGreat starter CPU with one problem

Pros: -Quad Core CPU @ 3.9GHz
-Fairly decent internal Graphics
-At the right price point for anybody

Cons: -The stock Heatsink and Fan is by far the worse I've seen yet. The temp of the CPU is idling at around 65C - 70C even in a room that is cooled by an AC on max speed (56F Temp in the room). I am not impressed at all by this abysmal CPU Cooler. You need an aftermarket cooler to really use it. I played Minecraft for 30 mins before it crashed giving me a Driver error on Windows 7. Checked the Temp and it peaked at 102C and was running at 95C+ the entire time. Limiting the FPS to 60 or even 30 does nothing.

It seems other people are getting mixed results with this cooler but I can assure you that this thing runs a lot hotter than it needs to be. So depending on your situation. Prepare for the worse cause this is NOT good AMD.

Other Thoughts: Buy an Aftermarket cooler even if you are getting little to no issues with that stock cooler. Because it doesn't even look like it'll last very long.
