4 out of 5 eggsDecent CPU

Pros: Works, not DOA. Honestly, not as strong as I though, but still an overall decent CPU.

Cons: Not as strong as expected. Ran Hot.

5 out of 5 eggs1000 points to AMD

Pros: I am a first time AMD buyer with this product and I am wholly impressed by the chip's performance. I installed this in a home workstation build and was pleasantly surprised to find out that it works for some casual gaming as well. So much for "workstation"...

Cons: Only supports memory speeds up to 1866mhz. Why didn't I buy the unlocked version? Had to do a light overclock to get my 2133mhz kit up to spec.

Other Thoughts: AMD should support higher memory speeds even on their lower end parts. They know as well as the community that higher memory bandwidth dramatically increases the performance of their on-die graphics.

5 out of 5 eggsRichland APU

Pros: This is a very nice APU from AMD, easily comparable or better than most of the i3's and i5's from Intel.
Easily overclockable from the stock 3.5 GHZ to 4.0 GHZ by turning off Turbo Boost and just clocking it to it's turbo.
Preforms all recent games EXTREMELY well.

Cons: It only supports crossfireing with these three cards...
6670
6570
6450
It's such a new APU, I am surprised AMD doesn't allow the 7000 series cards into the picture.

Other than that amazing APU

Other Thoughts: Great Budget APU, great for a mid range gaming computer under a low budget.

2 out of 5 eggssame issue as the other 1 egg review

Pros: Quick APU when it works, low power. Easy install.

Cons: Much like the reviewer who gave this product 1 egg, I'm having the same issue, with the same software. As soon as anything uses the IGP (windows rating, xbmc, etc...) the entire machine shuts off. I have to completely unplug the device and change outlets to get it to turn on again. If I change any settings in the BIOS I get the same issue. Pretty annoying. My A10-6800k does not experience these issues in the same build/hardware.

Other Thoughts: No idea if a BIOS update can fix this, or if it's from a bad platter or what... Would be nice to have an easy fix.

5 out of 5 eggsInexpensive, low power, all-in-one processor does the job

Pros: The AMD A8 is the first processor I tried, which I did not install a dedicated graphics card. The performance under Windows 8 is good and the provided fan (though a bit on the small side) was adequate to cool the CPU. I had no trouble with the drivers in Windows 8.

Cons: The included fan could be a bit higher quality.

Other Thoughts: This is a great choice for a low power computer at a budget price.

1 out of 5 eggsThe System Crashes

Pros: Looks okay from the spec, seems a good option to build a HTPC for the TV

Cons: With a Gigabyte A85XM-D3H MB and 2X4 GB Corsiar DDR3 Ram, the system is unstable in both Win7-64 or Win-8 64 systems. For example, whenever you try to run PC-Mark or "rate this computer", the system halt and gives no video signals. The power button and reset button on the case does not work in this case.. You have to switch the PSU off from the back..... I have checked the RAM, the new SSD, the Antec VP450 PSU and they are fine. The MB actually failed the first time and and I got it RMA back from Gigabyte tested. The cooler is a giant 12 cm cooler designed for 125W TDP (this is 65 supposed). The system can crash even running XBMC.... It is not a performance issue but more of a usable issue.. I guess nobody wants to have a HTPC and waits for it to crash at some point...

Other Thoughts: I have been trying to get an AMD platform since I got a 3770 platform for my main desktop last time. I have been trying to taste and promote both parties but it looks like AMD is falling in its standards along with its chipset and drivers etc... I can throw 300 bucks to get a i5+B85 platform to replace this disappointing AMD platform.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent APU

Pros: Very fast and powerful, beautiful graphics and graphics performance with windows 8.

Cons: Bad graphics and graphics performance with windows 7. The person the system was built for, my brother, would have preferred windows 7.
