5 out of 5 eggsNice cheap general purpose CPU

Pros: - Cheap but fast enough for general web browsing and play videos
- Plays 1080p videos with no issues

Cons: - None

Other Thoughts: The first one was defective where it wouldn't POST. The replacement was fine.

Ubuntu 14.10 had issues with the graphics driver for the GPU and random reboot problems due to a kernel bug. Ubuntu 15.04 or later works without problems.

4 out of 5 eggsGood chip, runs hot in small ITX enclosures

Pros: Pretty powerful for its price point. Perfect for my grandmother (Email, word, Netflix). Wouldn't consider it for higher end applications or gaming at all. Graphics that come with this APU will work fine for what my grandmother needs as well.

Cons: Runs really hot in the Cooler Master Elite 130. With the stock heat sink I was seeing temps get into the 90's at low usage levels. Bought a Cryorig C7 and cleaned up the cable management a bit and it was at 80C max which I'm fine with. Don't think my grandmother will really max out this chip as I was doing synthetic benchmarks. Usually hovers around 44C which has me happy.

Taking off an egg because the stock cooler is just not that great. I know a new one is coming out for newer chips but what came with this could not keep the temps down. I also attribute some of this to the cramped case, so I'll keep it at 4/5

Other Thoughts: Great chip for a grandparent/ or maybe even an HTPC/facebook machine, stock heatsink is worth replacing with something like a CM GeminII Mk4 or noctua/cryorig equivalents.

5 out of 5 eggsSmall Office Use

Pros: Handles basic applications and tasks without much problems when using the stock CPU cooler. This CPU can handle a VGA output connection and VGA input connection at the same time which is exactly what my company needed because we had to view the security system and complete financial statements simultaneously. Also, the low price of $52.99 is also attractive to budget builders, like myself.

Cons: N/A

Other Thoughts: Used to upgrade an existing office computer

5 out of 5 eggsworked better than I thought.

Pros: Bought this APU for my sons cheap gaming/music production computer build. I am going to give him my HD 6570 graphics card as I am about to upgrade my computer with an R7 360. In the meantime he can play Skyrim and Arma II at 720p on medium to low settings without any issues with just the APU. Can't complain about that.

Cons: Non so far.

Other Thoughts: I knew this was going to be a CHEAP build. But the APU has impressed me on it's speed compared to my computer.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect for Budget build

Pros: - Everything worked right out the box
- Runs perfect @ 4.3GHz
- Unlocked

Cons: Extremely small and cheap heatsink.
***HOWEVER, I have had zero problems - even when overclocked

Other Thoughts: Setup:
-ASUS A88XM-E FM2+ AMD A88X mobo
-G.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) F3-14900CL9D-8GBSR

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Other reviews seemed to only say positive things about this cpu so i got it.

Cons: Arrived and waited a few days for a friend to come over and help me fix everything up. Pulled the CPU and it had two bent prongs.

Other Thoughts: Would gladly like to use it but i'm worried I might get another messed up CPU. I've never had any issues with AMD before this so i'm hoping its just bad luck.

4 out of 5 eggsgood for budget gaming

Pros: Pretty good for a first build. Runs smoothly, can play a variety of games quite well (Minecraft, FF14, Guild Wars) without being overclocked.

Very nice if you're beginning to get into Minecraft mods.

Cons: Runs a bit hot for gaming (even lower end games), definitely going to want to buy an aftermarket heat sink & arctic silver if you're going to use it for constant gaming.

Can't view too far in Minecraft or it'll get laggy.

Other Thoughts: Think I'm going to stick to AMD for a while

5 out of 5 eggsAMD A6-6400K 3.9ghz dual core

Pros: Has built in video processing (HD 8470D). Runs good with 2 gigs dedicated to video for the APU. Uses less power than A8 and A10s.

Cons: Only has a bandwidth of about 28.8gb/s for video processing.
Does get a bit laggy at times on Minecraft.

Other Thoughts: I have 2 4gb Adata XPG 1866 modules in my nephews computer (2gb dedicated to video for the APU). Runs all the games for my nephew. Runs Star Wars Jedi Knight Academy flawlessly with everything turned up.
