2 out of 5 eggsLogical Processor != Core

Pros: Don't get me wrong, it's nice.
It works great, and I have had no problems (yet) with it;
I just wish I had done a tad more research instead of seeing a really cheap 4ghz dual and taking it at face value.

Cons: It lists it as dual core, but there are not 2 cores in this.

It is a logical processor (1 core trying to be a dual core that took a hit to performance and efficiency).

You can do the research of pro/con on logical processing / HT; I won't list it all here,
but I think listing this as a dual core should be considered false advertising.
I would have complained but I already have the darn thing installed on my motherboard with the heatsink fan and everything,
and I don't want to have to open it all back up and wait for a new cpu.

So learn from my mistake please!

5 out of 5 eggsVery quick for the price!

Pros: 4.2GHz turbo! (4GHz sustained)
Excellent single-thread (read: most software) performance.
Quiet OEM cooler; I can barely hear it.

Cons: Dual core; mediocre multi-thread performance.

Other Thoughts: So much faster than my old Pentium D it's unbelievably, even with only a modest clock bump. (4.2Ghz vs 3.4Ghz ~24%).
No GPU to add heat, use up die area, and add expense to the chip for dedicated GPU builds.
Personally, I think if you're going to code something highly multi-threaded (more than 2-4 cores) you're better off using GPGPU, so the dual core isn't a dealbreaker. I should also note this has a higher clock speed than the 750K.

5 out of 5 eggsawesome cpu. designed for gaming

Pros: i love this cpu. i got it for a budget gaming pc and it runs great. low watttage means less heat and since it requires a descrete gpu, its less stress on the cpu. i like it i play skyrim on 60 fps with this cpu.

Cons: none. i like it

Other Thoughts: 4.0 is rather unnecessary for a dual core but its still awesome. for the lawls

5 out of 5 eggsNice Little Processor

Pros: Fast cores, at 4.0ghz. ive overclocked it to 4.3ghz on the stock cooler with no problems. this will get the job done for you.

Cons: Only Dual core, AMD dose not excel at single core performance. but in multi core they do fine so just keep that in mind. but for a budget its not bad. the stock cooler dose leave some to be desired but it has no issue cooling this little processor. anything bigger though like the amd athlon x4 750k you need a better cooler.

4 out of 5 eggsAwesome but bottlenecks

Pros: Very fast CPU for the price. I can play Diablo 3 and League of Legends with out any hic-ups.

Cons: But in saying that, there is a bottle necking issue. I like to keep two games up at once or have internet browsers up for quick information about the games I am playing. I get less FPS and the game tends to lag. But when I close out of the other programs the game runs fine.

Other Thoughts: It is a good CPU for the price, but if you are looking at doing multiple tasks while playing games, think about getting a Quad core for a little more money.

4 out of 5 eggsVery Decent Processor

Pros: Operates at 4 GHz
It gets the job done with my games.

Cons: It runs fairly warm on the stock cooler and I dont have money for an aftermarket cooler but my case fans are doing a good job keeping my system cool while playing games

Also I have been running into Bottleneck issues but of course it is obvious that the processor is a Dual Core and not a Quad Core :-(

Other Thoughts: I hope to see a performance improvement once my new Kingston HyperX Blu 8 GB DDR3 PC1600 kit gets here.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat budget CPU

Pros: Inexpensive, performance for the price, two fast cores instead of four slow cores

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: A great inexpensive CPU. A fast dual-core will be better than a slow quad core for a lot of everyday computing tasks and many games.

3 out of 5 eggsMurphy's CCPU

Pros: Cheap, Fast, lacks an integral GPU

Cons: The failure mode of the first unit caused me to return two MSI motherboards. It was a partial operation which confused MSI, AMD, Newegg, and me.

Other Thoughts: The FM2 socket MSI motherboards seemed to fit my son's needs. However, deep in search for the guilty this processor is not listed as supported by the FM2-A85AX-G43 though it is supported by the G65. I cannot be certain that either of the first two boards were faulty at all since this CPU passed the num lock test. I then shifted to an A-88X-G43 which did function partially in that fans and disks spun up and the front panel power button would turn off after the 4 second delay. I put in an AMD warranty and the new CPU finally showed a BIOS screen. The two months lost and $28.00 in returned freight will dance in my head for a long time.

3 out of 5 eggsUsed CPU Heatsink

Pros: Cheap and fast processor, perfect for my friends needs.

Cons: When I opened the box I found a scuffed/scratched and opened CPU heatsink. The thermal paste had bits of big pieces of green lint from who knows where. It isn't that big of a deal as I usually replaced the thermal paste with my own but it is odd I received a used heatsink. Never had that happened before.

Other Thoughts: Bought a new cpu and got a random used heatsink with it.
