5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very fast CPU
Handles everything I have thrown at it gaming very well

Cons: Needs liquid cooling so be prepare to buy at good cooler, otherwise you won't get its full potential without burning up

Other Thoughts: 4.7ghz was fast enough for me so I didn't look at overclock potential though I hear there is plenty.
For those who don't know this is an "enthusiast CPU" meaning it WILL NOT come with a stock cpu cooler. My CM Hyper D92 air cooler kept it around 40C Idle but Liquid cooling is pretty much required to push it at all and stay below 65C.

1 out of 5 eggswaste of time and money

Pros: None

Cons: Garbage ,overheats on base clock speeds.Freezes up. had to underclock and give it 1.5volts just to stay alive and keep its heart beating.
Pretty sad.
Returned this and saved 50 bucks and bought the FX8370 running it at a very rock stable 5.2 ghz ! PLus the FX8370 uses ALOT less power ,,save on the ole electric bills ! Pays for itself over this c r a p p y FX9590

Other Thoughts: I dont want to hear my system wasnt up to it either.
Thats B..S
I have asus sabertooth 990fx motherboard.
16 gb ripsaw 1866 mhz ram.
Corsair H105 liquid cooling.
Thermaltake V71 full tower case
two older ATI HD 5870s in crossfire.
all powered by Corsair 1000watt TX power supply
so my system was Plenty powerful enough so nice try !

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Solid cpu as I've come to expect from AMD processors.

Cons: core(s) failed within 1 year of purchase. (I didn't bother sorting out if it was a specific one or both.) I give it high marks even in spite of this. The core when working properly is solid.

Other Thoughts: In spite of this cpu problem, I will still buy AMD processore. I've owned at least 8-9 different processors from them and NEVER had any problems. This is the first one that I've had fail. My computer started locking up and eventually I got a BSOD that indicated the issue.
I tried updating the BIOS, tweaking voltage settings, and running memory tests. Everything was checking out fine, but the BSOD/lock up issue remained. Finally I found an article that broke the issue down into issues and the likelihood of it being a specific problem. it was most probably a CPU issue, either from overclocking and being unstable (hadn't overclocked it) or just a bum core. The second most common issue was the mainboard (did BIOS + driver update), and least likely was RAM (checked and ok) or OS corruption (restored to an image 15 minutes after original install of OS and then did all updates)
I went into the BIOS and started disabling core pairs 1 at a time. As soon as core pair 2 (cores 3&4) was disabled, the system has been working flawlessly.
I've ordered a replacement and will be looking into contacting AMD to see if anything can be done with the cpu I am currently running.

5 out of 5 eggsFX 9590

Pros: Fast with better performance than 8320 Runs fairly cool for me.

Cons: None Just wish more reviewers would show their setup details so it would help others with their setup. Always something new out there.

Other Thoughts: Changed Motherboard from M5A99X EVO To M5A99FX 2.0 added 9590 and was all set to go. Had to update usb and reactivate windows and running smoothly. Asus M5A99FX 2.0 FX 9590 Corsair 850 watts 16 gb 2133 Gskill sniper ram 256 Gb ssd H100 water cooler Cooler Master Haf 932 case Going to add R 390 card and waiting for win 10

5 out of 5 eggsA fix to the freezing problem

Pros: very fast still love this CPU

Cons: I ran into some freezing well gaming did a lot of research and wanted to share what i have found under clocking is not the answer you need to disable C1 and C6 and enable cool and quit in the bios they throttle the power consumption to this CPU and it needs all the power it can get

Other Thoughts: i love this CPU and would like others who have this to be happy with it

3 out of 5 eggsJust ok

Pros: The CPU runs fast and is great for multitasking.

Cons: It can be very unstable in some situations. I had to down-clock my CPU to about 4.4 GHz to stabilize it.

It runs very hot and will require water cooling. I initially tried the Coolermaster 212 EVO and it works ok but definitely needs water. Idle temps were 40s, gaming temps were 50's, stress tests would cause system shutdown and spikes of 75. I recommend Corsair H100i GTX.

Other Thoughts: Save yourself any trouble and just get an 8350. In hindsight I should have done this and then overclocked the CPU up to 4.7 or higher.

5 out of 5 eggsThing is a beast

Pros: This thing is fast FAST FAST upgraded from an 8320 and there is a pretty significant difference in speed. Now this thing does get hot and it requires a really good cooling system. I bought the h100 water cooler and it keeps it extremely cool. If you don't have significant cooling for it, your computer will freeze up and need to be rebooted.

I see no reason to go intel with a amd processor of this speed.

Cons: Runs hot, but not really a con when you get a good cooling system.

Other Thoughts: I would suggest going liquid cooling, and dont get any cooling system below the i90, it wont be good enough. I don't over clock this thing cause it's super fast without it, but if you want to overclock i would suggest the best liquid cooling system available on newegg.

5 out of 5 eggsYes, It Is That Good

Pros: 8 Physical Cores, 4.7 GHZ non overclocked. Able to do so much more including running 1920x1080 games while recording using bandicam for youtube.

Cons: A lot of power used and HOT! Make sure you have liquid cooling with this or else you will cook it. Motherboards today will fail safe off the computer when it gets to hot. Also if you are using the same motherboard and just swapping out processors make sure you reset all your settings on the motherboard. Mine kept randomly shutting down because I went from an Original Bulldozer quad core to this one.

Other Thoughts: So far I am nothing but impressed. I noticed all my games run much smoother and when I record videos for youtube I get 50 to 60 fps instead of 20 to 30 running at 1920x1080. Has to do with the simple fact that I have 4 extra cores to run thing on. If you want to make a very powerful computer GET THIS PROCESSOR! Calculated out my computer now in total used 500W of power so make sure you have at least 700w, AMD reccomends 1000w but that all depends on what you are using. Liquid cooling is a must, reset processor settings on the motherboard, and make sure you have good thermal paste on it. IT WILL ALSO STOP WORKING IF YOU DON'T HAVE THERMAL PASTE ON IT!

5 out of 5 eggsRock Solid

Pros: Very fast, Outstanding gameplay, Excellent multitasking, Awesome performance to price ratio, Overclockers dream!!!

Cons: Has to have a Water-cooling set-up for maximum use, This CPU is not for the inexperienced user.

Other Thoughts: CPU has seen constant use at 5.1 MHz for 8 months without a hiccup. Running a Custom 360 Liquid - Cooling set-up on an Asus Crosshair V Formula Z motherboard and 2 MSI AMD R9 200 series videocards in Crossfire. Set-up puts out a lot of heat but is kept under control with water. Can play any game at Max settings!
