Pros: None

Cons: I thought this processor was going to be the one to replace my 8350. Guess not. For this processor alone I upgraded my gigabyte ud3 rev. 1.1 to rev. 4.0 just for this garbage processor. Boy, do I feel like I got ripped off. Set everything up and updated the bios. Checked the bios, checked cabling, checked everything. Oh, I even thought it was the liquid cooler causing the problem went from Cooler Master Seidon 120M to Corsair H60 still didn't fix issue. Finally, reverted back to the AMD 8350 and found out that this 9590 processor was the culprit causing my system to freeze constantly. So, then I proceeded to leave the 8350 in and no more freezing issues. Next time I buy an AMD processor. There will be no next time I'll buy an AMD processor because the 9590 just changed my mind on buying another AMD processor ever. Next processor I buy will be an INTEL processor due to this blunder of a purchase I made on the 9590 having the hopes that I'll have the flagship processor running in my pc. Next time I'll go flagship on INTEL and waste money for something that works.

Other Thoughts: Stay away from this one.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: *Faster than hell.
*Allows for incredible multitasking.
*Compression/decompressing files using 7zip with 8 threads on 8 cores is like magic!

Cons: *Consumes a lot of power.
*Doesn't leave a whole lot of room for overclocking or overclocking because very complex.
*Generates a serious amount of heat.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome! But not good for a first build.

Pros: It works great! Very fast, stable, and what I would expect from a high end chip. My main machine is an i7, and FX9590 can keep up.

Cons: Not really a con, but yes the 9590 is HOT, I am running an H100 cooler and this thing can keep up, but barely. Running prime 95 for an extended period of time I can hit +60c

Other Thoughts: I love this processor, I had a few extra parts around and decided to build an AMD machine so I picked up this chip, with the intent of selling the machine when I was done. I think I might keep it, I'm having so much fun with it! I am actually typing this review on now.

If you are thinking about getting the FX-9590 for a first build, I would probably not recommend it, imo takes a little bit more work to get all the parts dialed in and you might find yourself a bit frustrated, but really no fault of this chip.

5 out of 5 eggsspeed demon

Pros: This CPU Paired with Corsair H100i and thermal protected with The guild thermal compound.

My CPU temps never get above 60c.
The lowest it has been and is right now is 9c. I am using Core Temp to monitor the cpu temp. along with the Corsair link software for the fan control.
Anyway, I know i could of used some different paste, but i wanted to try something else other then Artic cool stuff. just to see what would happen. and looks like the paste is keeping with the name it is made by.

I still think Artic cool would give me a deg or more cooler, but the AMD 9590 is staying REALLY cooler, and it is a heater on its own.
and im not just saying that, 220w oh yes, it in fact is. heat off this thing could my guess fry a egg, with out the cooler ..
temps may ever with thermal compound and closed loop coolers

Cons: none, other then the IoMMU for this is useless for those of us, not running two operating systems. so if you dont have two operating system on one PC, dont enable it ...

Other Thoughts: i had this once before but had issue`s with the mother board and Memory. sent it back, cause i didnt think i was gonna go with AMD on my new build. but i did, so picked this back up again. cause it dont like it when i do, makes my system crash and lock up.

3 out of 5 eggsCrazy Fast

Pros: Very fast

Cons: Extremely hot
Stupid hot

Other Thoughts: Seriously, this chip is a beast, but without a full on wc setup, it will overheat. I would seriously suggest getting the 8350 just on the heat issue alone. I only have a 240mm rad and it is no where near enough when this baby throttles up. It is definitely a nice chip but you would have to drop way too much cash to cool it properly.

2 out of 5 eggsNot worth it

Pros: It works, and its not terrifyingly expensive.

Cons: It throws a ton of heat.
It will cause a noticeable increase in your power bill.
Even with a great cooling loop, it rarely overclocks to the 5.0ghz turbo.
In terms of price/performance, it is inferior to comparable intel chips.
You won't ever utilize all 8 cores

The socket is dead. By this I mean that no new chips will be made to fit this socket. This means when you upgrade in the future, you will have to buy a whole new motherboard as well.

Other Thoughts: Don't buy it. Just don't. 5Ghz looks nice at first glance, but that 3Ghz processor from intel is actually faster.

5 out of 5 eggsawesome cpu

Pros: This CPU is awesome, was upgrading from an older AMD cpu and this took out any remaining stutters I had in my gaming.

Cons: Not much, running with a h100 cooler got a modest .2ghz overclock on it, don't think there is a lot of headroom in these CPU's but they don't really need to.

4 out of 5 eggsThis Processor is Great!!!

Pros: It has handled everything I've thrown at it. 3D modeling in revit started getting jumpy with an intel quad core, but it runs seamlessly on this. It don't benchmark well, but with 8 cores, so what!

Cons: This processor requires liquid cooling, this is must have! This is why I gave it only 4 Eggs. if they would add this info to the product info or specs, I'd change it to 5.

Other Thoughts: Its a BEAST!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This processor is way overkill for what I do, but I have a lot of room for future use. I got tired of buying out of the box computer and within a year it is already having problems with high CPU usage, but that is not a problem anymore!!!!! Supper quick start-up's and easy UEFI setting with the Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 .

Cons: Heat for this CPU is a problem. I purchased the ASUS SABERTOOTH 990FX R2.0 AM3+ AMD 990FX + SB950 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS, Corsair Carbide Series 400R Graphite grey and black ATX Mid Tower Gaming Case, and CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm for this build. The cooling unit which works great, takes up quite a bit of room in the top of the case. The fans are in front of the power and fan connections for the top of the motherboard. Its not that bad but I thought it might help someone doing a build. I would suggest a full case instead of a mid case!!!

Other Thoughts: I have been running this CPU for two weeks with no problems. I have not seen temps over 41 C. Normal running temps stay around 37 C to 38 C and I have been keeping a close eye on it!!!
