5 out of 5 eggssmokes

Pros: Really fast and basically makes turning on my computer fun.
Multitasks like crazy.

Cons: Keeping the processor cool takes liquid cooling, I use the H80i which makes a lot of noise, irritating.

Other Thoughts: Bolted on the MSI 990 chipset mobo. Insist on a 990 chipset mobo, do not listen to others who think its OK to use with a 970 chipset. The processor was meant for a 990. Thank you for reading this.

5 out of 5 eggsNo Problems

Pros: Been Running Smooth.. OCed to 5.2 ghz. Running Koolance 1X3 180mm Rad + 1X2 180mm Rad
1 Pump.
Also chained in the Watercool 3xSLI GTX 580 vid cards.

Cons: Does Run hot, but it's a watercool processor.

Other Thoughts: Not sure why other users state their problems with the processor. Might be a bad processor. The watercool I'm pushing is less then some remarks, so I'm not sure where the issue may be.

4 out of 5 eggsWorked well while i used it

Pros: Handles things very well, including ridiculous multi-tasking requirements. I have had no issues with this product at all

Cons: as far as this chip goes, it's a fantastic piece of equipment for the price.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: very fast and is highly overclockable

Cons: like all AMD processors struggle on single threaded apps

Other Thoughts: 20-30C Idle <60C under 100% load with a Corsair H60 with push, pull pair of sp120

5 out of 5 eggsUpgrade from Phenom 1100T

Pros: Fastest AMD processor you can currently buy, roughly equivalent to an i7-3770K as far as performance goes.

Cons: Can't seem to overclock. This problem is twofold in my case. The ASUS Sabertooth R2 either suffers from significant voltage droop under full load, or ridiculously high thermals. Can't seem to strike a balance between the two.

Other Thoughts: Doesn't need water cooling, currently using a Noctua NH-D14. Idles at 30°C, tops out at 62°C after running prime95 for 8 hours (Assuming ASUS' AI Suite thermal measurements are correct, AMD Overdrive shows 20°C thermal overhead after 8 hours of prime).

Can be had for $270 if you are patient and wait for the deals.

5 out of 5 eggs  for those of you that have stability issues

Pros: This CPU is a beast. Combined with gigabyte 990-fxa mobo, cooler master 812, 32 gb crucial ballistix low pro(4x8gb) this my second review as I hate when people post unusable info which could bring amd potential buyers. If you bought this CPU you should know this - your motherboards VRM has to support 220w CPUs. If you get any motherboard that is dirt cheap you will regret buying this CPU. There are only 3 Mobos on the market that support 9590. So research it and then talk about what you could or should have bought(ex. 8350, intel blah blah). Coming from phenom x6 I can tell you that this thing renders video at least 3 times faster. Blu-Ray renders almost as fast as watching the footage. Temps with my air cooler never reach 45c. So please talk about facts that you know aren't your building experience faults.

Cons: Could have been 380w. Like some overclocked intels reach. C'mon you know you've seen the actual test results on the web of similarly clocked intels.

Other Thoughts: Bought this beast on Black Friday for 279.99. Can believe this is the first time it reached 259.99 since then.

5 out of 5 eggsWork Horse!!

Pros: This CPU is a powerhouse! 220W and will run over 5ghz if cooling is properly setup. This CPU needs a good liquid cooler to stay comfy so I snagged a Corsair H100i Extreme ;)

Cons: None

1 out of 5 eggsBad luck with the AMD FX-9590 cpu

Pros: None from my point of view.

Cons: Overheats easily! Altho Passmark gvies a 10.271 rating, the overheating problem demands caution in use thereof.

Other Thoughts: Might just be a bad cpu. I've built many pc's with Intel cpu's, and have never had an over heating problem; thus, I do not plan to ever purchase another AMD product.

5 out of 5 eggsMultitasking MUST HAVE!

Pros: FAST! At 4.7GHz there aren't too many things you can't do. Great for multitasking, seems to rarely (if ever) get locked up on usage.

Cons: Overclocking to 5.0GHz (Or more) can seem to be somewhat of a hassle in the cooling and voltage departments. Very much possible to do but you will definitely need to be experienced in those matters, it will take LOTS of tweaking to get it just right.

Other Thoughts: All around a great CPU. Be advised this CPU is not meant for BRUTE POWER (Ex. Gamers). As far as benchmarks go this CPU will perform great but it's not really for that, you'd get more from an Intel. This CPU is for the user that uses 4 or 5 performance hogging apps at a time. (Ex. Gaming, iTunes, steam apps, file downloads and uploads all at the same time)
