5 out of 5 eggsDecent CPU

Pros: I installed this into an htpc I built on a budget, so because of the decent price and more than decent specs, I went for this CPU. I have not had a single hiccup or glitch anywhere. Then again, I also ordered a gpu for dedicated graphics. It hasn't passed more than 22% usage, running Windows 7 64 bit. I use it with XBMC/Kodi and I haven't noticed anything go wrong so far.

Cons: None for me.

5 out of 5 eggsRuns cool and does what I need it to do

Pros: I purchased to go with ECS A55F2-M3 and create a very cheap XENSERVER. Runs great and I am currently running 2 installations of Server 2012 R2 on the system and they both run just fine.

Cons: It's a cheap AMD that works, no cons as of yet.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Value

Pros: Excellent Value, ATI Video included, works great.

Cons: A little high on power consumption.

Other Thoughts: I don't know how you can find a better value that includes a fast dual core CPU and HD integrated video, especially now while it's on sale. Combine this with the ASUS A78M-E for a super low-cost, decent-performing rig.

4 out of 5 eggsHTPC Build

Pros: 1. Solid Graphics for an HTPC or basic home PC.
2. Sub-$40 cost is terrific for budget HTPC

Cons: 1. 65W TDP is high for a low power HTPC build. I removed one Egg as there needs to be a Sub 40W APU that is not an AM1 base. If that APU existed I would have purchased that instead.
2. Because of the TDP, smaller aftermarket CPU coolers run between 40-50c. For extremely thin systems this could become an issue.

Note for AMD: I would have spent slightly more to have a lower TDP APU for a compact build. I understand that is what the AM1 platform is for, but the general performance dropoff is just too great for my taste. I am highly anticipating Carrizo-L.

Other Thoughts: For normal HTPC low cost builds this is a great option. I do not use this build for encoding so I cannot speak to that, but for a home media-serve/TV streaming/DVR it works great for me with the following other components:

MB: ASRock FM2A88X-ITX+
RAM: G.SKILL ECO Series 4GB (2x2GB) 1600
SSD: OCZ Arc 100 120GB
HD: HGST Travelstar 1TB 2.5"
PSU: FSP Group FSP220-60LE (Mini-ITX)

The Stock cooler was too tall for the HTPC case I decided to use, so I ended up spending another $30 for the compact Zalman option. Works decently, but as I said before I would prefer the idle temperatures sit in the 30s instead of the 40s.

5 out of 5 eggsAMD A4-6300 Richland

Pros: Does what it's supposed to do. Runs cool with stock heat sink/fan. Fast enough for my purposes. I'm not a gamer.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Have not used the Radeon HD video. Using a separate video card.

5 out of 5 eggs6300 amd

Pros: Price
onboard graphics

Cons: none so far

Other Thoughts: I mean when you buy this you are not planning on gaming, So for a internet computer and for word and so on it fits the bill. For a 3.7 dual core it really doesn't seem that fast is more like an old amd single core. When installing updates it took awhile during install but you get what you pay for. 40. bux is true value on this chip.

5 out of 5 eggsReally good for the price

Pros: Cheap, low power. Integrated graphics.

Cons: non

Other Thoughts: Heat sinks like poop. This cpu is really great for the money, but keep in mind that this is a really budget oriented cpu so if you plan on building a budget gaming pc, just please spend the extra 40 dollars and get a quad core.

4 out of 5 eggsIts good

Pros: Low power.

Cons: Not the fastest.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to replace an old 775 system and it does exactly what I wanted it to. The gpu is quite weak, even compared to the a4-7300 its noticeably slower. On the bright side the gpu overclocked to well over 1ghz (760mhz stock) for me with stock cooler with no problem at all. Its good for what its intended for.
