5 out of 5 eggsBlazing fast, GREAT for a budget build

Pros: Super fast

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Before I had this cpu i had the fx-6300, this cpu is in a completely different REALM. This cpu definitely runs a little warm, the liquid cooled version is definitely a must, it runs at pretty average temps at idle and under load with the liquid cooling, idk how bad it is without the liquid cooling but from my experience i would say the liquid cooling is an absolute must. Paired with 16gb of RAM and 2 gtx 660's in sli, this cpu definitely makes for MONSTER pc regardless of what youre using it for.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat deal

Pros: - Great pricing, especially in comparison to 8350 with a cooler like everyone states
- Watercooler is a great bonus, keeping the CPU pretty darn cool
- Good performance out of the box even though you can overclock 8xxx series to similar performance; perfect for peeps who can't seem to push the 8xxx above 4.2Ghz+ stable

Cons: - On sale at $269 makes it more enticing
- Does draw quite a bit of power (especially relative to intel) but I haven't seen anything ridiculous while doing video editing and benchmarking/stress testing
- Have to be careful which boards will take it with no issues/full features. Check the questions section and other reviews for this. There are MSI, GIgabit, Asus models that work. I have a Sabertooth 990FX/Gen 3 R2.0 with no issues on latest BIOS (older BIOS doesn't seem to report CPU/NB and HT speed correctly).

Other Thoughts: Like everyone says, this is a good deal when it comes with a liquid cooler. No, you won't gain much if you can get the 8350 for much cheaper when it's actually on sale.. somewhere. But for now, this is a good balance between the 8350 and the 9590.

And last note, make sure you search up if your 990FX board will take this before you make the purchase. There are lots of compatible boards out there but some also have reported issues.

UPDATE:
Recently had to use AMD warranty and just want to note that it was superb. Quick and easy to RMA both CPU and cooler. Replacement CPU seems to come from a better bin. And liquid cooler was sent so fast to me I hadn't even sent out the defective one yet. Liquid cooler was also upgraded to a Cooler Master Seidon 120XL (which I think cools better than the Antec/Asetek stock, also better made and quieter). Thoroughly impressed with the warranty service.

4 out of 5 eggsBang for Buck

Pros: -Great processor for the price
-Water cooler is decent
-Set up was easy

Cons: After reading some reviews, it seems like owning this processor is Hit or Miss and I just happened to get a miss.
I had to underclock and Undervolt down to 4.0 and 200-210W and it runs like a champ. I was getting a processing timeout error about a month in. It still runs a little on the "Hotter than it should" side of things.

Other Thoughts: This is a great processor for the price and I have been an avid AMD fan for years. I coupled this with a Sapphire R7 and don't have any stutters in my machine doing anything from gaming to rendering video.

3 out of 5 eggsProcessor AMAZING cooling system ABYSMAL.

Pros: This processor is a beast. For this price I can overclock this baby pretty close to what a FX9590 would do and get a great performance out of it. It pretty much shreds every test I've ran on it. In my opinion, the right choice if you want a great performance/price processor. I run a dual monitor system, I do graphic intensive work on Photoshop, Maya, CorelDraw, and half the time I'm also running several webpages as well, not to mention games like The Witcher III, DA Inquisition and Fallout 4. Meanwhile this processor is almost bored asking if I got anything more to throw at it. Amazing.

Cons: THE COOLING SYSTEM. If you get this thing, do yourself a favor and purchase it without the included cooling system and upgrade to a better one. The reason? It sounds like an airplane inside the room. I literally think this has to be the loudest set of fans on a liquid cooling system on the market. It is ridiculously loud and it honestly annoys the (insert word here) out of me, to the point where I just have to turn up the speakers if I'm playing music while I work or just put the headphones on and tune it out. If I'm not listening to music and just browsing, it just sits there revving like a WWI biplane. Now after a few months of having it, it has started to make even more noise, I don't know what's wrong with one of the fans, but it is making a crackling noise as if one of the blades was loose or rubbing against something. I can't seem to pinpoint it. I'm thinking about returning it and hopefully getting a replacement or something. It's got to go.

Other Thoughts: If we're talking about the processor's performance, I couldn't be happier with it. On the other hand, the cooling system is extremely loud. I wish AMD had gone with something better, considering this is one of their best processors out there. I gave the product 3 stars simply bc of that fact. You can't produce a top of the line product and pair it with a lackluster "companion" It's like saying Ferrari just released their new car with a set of Mountain Bicycle tires. Totally ruins the experience.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: FX processors are great for gaming and the heatsink does a great job at cooling such powerful processors (given that it is included.) No complaints on performance.

Cons: The radiator and fans are freaking huge and difficult to install in a mid size case.

Other Thoughts: Pretty happy. Knocked off an egg for the vague instructions that came with the difficult cooling unit. Also, you might need some extra hands to hold that back plate down while you screw in the heatsink.

5 out of 5 eggsSo far so good

Pros: Before you buy check with the MOBO manufacturer to make sure it supports this CPU, and have plenty of room for the radiator in the case it is almost 4" Thick (Cooler Master Seidon 120XL) Fast processor and the radiator genuinely works well, held around 53c for almost two hours at full gaming load, then dropped to 40 within a few minutes when done.

Cons: None so far, ill update long term in a few months.

4 out of 5 eggsI've owned this beast for a year. Still runs great.

Pros: This thing runs great even after a year. I have it paired with an Asus Crosshair V Formula-Z mobo, and I have had zero issues. I have it OC'd to 4.65Ghz and even with an air cooled heatsink, it's never gone above 65C even under full load. I would recommend this CPU to anyone who wants really decent performance for a low price.

Cons: None so far. Runs great with a good motherboard.

5 out of 5 eggsUnnecessarily Overpowered

Pros: This "thing" is a monster: eats alive anything you throw its way. More processing power behind it than I know what to do with, and the liquid cooler lets it truly shine!

Cons: It's a bit power-hungry, so make sure you've got a hefty PSU/MB combo to handle it. It gets really hot - hence the liquid cooler - even when it's idling, and the radiator that comes with the kit feels like it's got a difficult timing keeping up on occasion. Also, the processor's a tad unstable: not 100% sure why, but it sometimes shuts off when trying to run a game or something. See other thoughts.

Other Thoughts: Couldn't run any games at first because the processor was drawing too much power and was overloading itself. Fixed this by clocking down from like 5.1Ghz to about 4.34Ghz. Issue still happens on rare occasions, but the internet isn't too helpful when trying to fix this. Some claim lowering (and in some cases, raising?) VCORE or other voltage parameters helps. Most mention turning off the C1/C6 states in BIOS to fix this issue, but I'm not 100% sure which combination of things fixes it the best. Other than that, this thing is a dream: I highly recommend it.

1 out of 5 eggsWorst CPU EVER!!!!!!!!!!

Pros: None, just none... No really, there is nothing good to say about this unit at all.

Cons: Where can I start?
lets see, for one the water cooling kit that comes with this CPU is not ratted to handle a CPU with this high of a TDP and the manufacture of the water cooling kit says so on it's website in fairly big print that it only supports CPU's up to 175 watt TDP.
Then there is that fact that AMD has no info about this CPU ether in the CPU's box or on it's own website So bits of important info like what the CPU's voltage is or what the HT buss speed is, is unknown Thanks AMD, good job... NOT!!!!!
Now if that was not bad enough add in the fact that AMD dose not have effective telephone customer support and getting this thing to run correctly is a total shot in the dark.

Other Thoughts: I WILL NEVER BUY AN AMD PRODUCT AGAIN!!!

5 out of 5 eggs9 Months Later...Still Power Hungry

Pros: Insanely fast 8 Core Processor
Black Edition: Allows for Overclocking beyond "Factory Locked" speeds
Never Lags

Cons: Requires mid to high end liquid cooling to perform at it's highest potential (not truly a con, but you should just set aside money for a kit or EK Water Block it, bare minimum kit wise: Corsair H100i or better).

Other Thoughts: This processor is amazing in every way, crushes games, benchmarks, anything you toss it's way. 9 months later and I'm still happy with the FX 9370 as it has never underperformed or caused Thermal Shutdown in any instance over 9 months. My current CPU setup is : ASUS Sabertooth R2.0 AM3+ Mobo, Corsair RM1000 1000W PSU, & AMD FX 9370. This CPU hasn't seen over 62C (and that's while running the AMD OverDrive CPU Test).
