5 out of 5 eggspci-e 3.0 duh?

Pros: one thing that every one has somehow forgotten is that kaveri apu's and cpu's have pci-e 3.0 on them. How much cheaper can you get for pci-e 3.0 with this cpu? Something definitely not to be overlooked if you are going to buy a kaveri apu/cpu. especially if you are going to do dual graphics on your board, you will want to get every last drop of graphics power out of your r7 250 series card with a apu. even so if you go with a higher powered gpu and a apu, you have a backup for graphics in the apu if your dedicated gpu dies. not so in this case as it's a straight cpu.

Cons: none.

Other Thoughts: looking to buy this cpu and a a78 chipset mb as a early birthday gift for my bro. He is currently using a second hand mb and cpu that has smoke damage (not caused by him or me,we don't smoke) on it and needs replacement badly. (he's got a 880g chipset mb and Athlon II x4 640)

5 out of 5 eggsNice Chip

Pros: -Inexpensive because it does not have an integrated GPU
-overclocked nicely to 4.6 GHz (didnt try any higher)

Cons: -stock heatsink/fan not very good. But they never are from either intel or amd.

Other Thoughts: Most boards will probably require a bios flash prior to installing this chip.

At stock speeds the voltage can probably be lowered a bit to keep it cooler. At overclock i was running 4.2ghz at 1.35v and 1.5v for 4.6ghz. I could probably have lowered those more.

If you plan to overclock, do not use the stock heatsink/fan. (yes this question comes up)

5 out of 5 eggsi3 Destroyer!

Pros: Fast little quadcore, runs most games great when paired with a decent gpu, runs cool.
I got this little chip running at 4.8GHz with little effort with a 120mm liquid cooler

Cons: Cruddy stock cooler? besides that there is none.

Other Thoughts: Bios has to be updated on most boards so make sure to have a spare FM2 processor laying around.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: 1. Runs nice right out of the box.
2. No issues with having to update bios for this chip (haven't used the mobo in a couple months)
3. Overclocks like a champ, but as a previous reviewer stated, negligible performance difference after 4Ghz.
4. No temperature issues like I had with previous iterations 750k and 760k.
5. solid piece of hardware based off Kaveri

Cons: I have none

Other Thoughts: Temperatures are down because of the cooler that I have. decided, for upgrade and future sake, to get the Corsair H110 280mm AIO. Keeps this cpu so darn cool I don't think even under full load I've seen it peak over 58c.

5 out of 5 eggsHow can someone comment who doesn't even own or have even used this cpu?

Pros: It boggles my mind how someone can actually critique an item they neither own nor have ever used. The kicker is they expect to be taken seriously.

Cons: Some of these so called "reviewers".

5 out of 5 eggsGreat CPU

Pros: Fast out of the box, Turbo 4Ghz, runs pretty cool. Idle power is decently low. Uses about as much power under load as my Phenom II x6 OC at idle.
Steamroller is great, has pretty flatline IPC. Has great SSE performance and breezes through games at more consistant/solid FPS than higher clocked piledriver setups!

Cons: Only OC'd to about 4300mhz before getting unstable. Needed 1.425V to hit 4300mhz.
Negligable performance increase past 4Ghz.

Other Thoughts: Its fast enough @ 4Ghz. Just turn off turbo and set 4Ghz as the speed for all 4 cores and you will be set!
Blows though everything you can throw at it! Win7 boots in about 5 seconds w/ Crucial 240GB SSD.
Idles at about 35-40C. Load 65C under OC.

4 out of 5 eggsVery good but there is better for less money

Pros: A very good cpu can play almost anything with a decent gpu. Over clocks very nice. Has good temps (on air).

Cons: Its a very good cpu but the x4 750k (this is suppost to be replacing the it) is just as good for less $$$.

Other Thoughts: Its a very good cpu but the x4 750k (this is suppost to be replacing it) is about the same performance but about $12 cheaper and gets about the same FPS in games(leapfrogs between CPUs). BUT the x4 860k does have a higher clock speed. And is on a newer socket with a newer PCIe revision(does not matter too much). The x4 750k also has the x4 760k that is in between the two that is better than the x4 750k so i would expect it to be better than the x4 860k. So i would personaly go with the x4 750k because its alot cheaper. But the x4 860k is still a very good CPU if you just want the newest CPU. But you should always do your own research.
