  • newegg Intel Virtualization Technology (Intel VT) With Intel VT, one hardware platform functions as multiple "virtual" platforms. For business, Intel VT offers improved manageability, limiting downtime and maintaining worker productivity by isolating computing activities into separate partitions. In the home, Intel VT allows creating unique user environments for multiple family members using the same platform simultaneously.
  • newegg Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology Support Multiple performance modes enable optimum performance at the lowest power, using real-time dynamic switching of the voltage and frequency between multiple performance modes based on CPU demands.
  • newegg Intel Extended Memory 64 Technology (Intel EM64T) Intel EM64T provides an enhancement to Intel 32-bit architecture by enabling the desktop processor platform to access larger amounts of memory. With appropriate 64-bit supporting hardware and software, platforms based on an Intel processor supporting Intel EM64T can enable use of extended virtual and physical memory.

5 out of 5 eggsFreaking A Right

Pros: This baby packs quite a punch. Coupled this to a Intel BOXD975XBX2KR, Adata 2GB PC 800, Western Digital 1TB, EVGA 7900GTO and in a nice RocketFish case and she purrrs. Plays COD4 excellently, no lag, and computes like no other

Cons: Clock Speed a bit slow, but thats what overclocking is for

Other Thoughts: For a budget gamer or a hardcore gamer. it gets the job done right.

5 out of 5 eggsOC to 3.05Ghz on air

Pros: Running since March 2008 at 3.05Ghz with zero issues in Xp Pro. Arctic 7 Pro fan in Antec aluminum case keeps Asus P5KC board temp at 35C and CPU at 37C. Under full load, temp only goes up 5C.

Cons: Doesn't wash my car or do dishes.

Other Thoughts: 2GB DDR800 Kingston, EGA7600GT

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent Processor, HORRIBLE FAN

Pros: Good processor and the price I paid is good for a starter computer for learning usage.

Cons: stock fan that came with the processor is HORRIBLE!!! How can you lock down the fan with plastic rods that gets fastened to the motherboard. Not 100% guaranteed that it will stay clamped. Going to order another fan with a back plate to ensure the fan gets clamped down tight.

Other Thoughts: 4-stars cause the stock fan is garbage. Other than that, procssor is good and the FSB is INCREDIBLE.

5 out of 5 eggsPeppy Little CPU

Pros: True dual core performance. Even at it's default speed, it matches (if not beats) my P4 Northwood 3.0GHz. Running much cooler than the old P4, even with a low-noise tower HSF.

Cons: With price cuts and new Core 2 Duo processors being introduced by Intel, this is no longer the price/performance king it once was.

Other Thoughts: CPU really surprises me when it runs both WoW and EVE Online at the same time without so much as a hiccup. I can also run two instances of any MMO (such as EQ2, City of Heroes or EVE Online) and everything is smooth. Dual screen, watching a movie on one while doing work or playing on the other, is a dream. Was only able to overclock my CPU to about 2.6GHz stable; however, I suspect it's my ASUS P5N32-SLI (nForce 590/570 hybrid) that's to blame.

5 out of 5 eggsOverclocks big.

Pros: This chip is rock solid at 467x7 = 3.269GHz on my GA-P35-DS3L at 1.47V with 8GB of A-DATA RAM installed. I had to upgrade the hsf to get there.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsA highly recommended processor for new builders

Pros: A very fast processor, rarely have to go to Windows Task Manager, and Vista Ready (Ultimate)

Cons: None!

Other Thoughts: This is a very fast processor, I bought it for my computer building class. It was my first-ever computer that I built, and I wanted to see if I could get the most from my motherboard. So I got this processor, which was the optimum choice for my board. I recommend this for first-time computer builders.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works great. Yes really.

Cons: I've had no problems with it.

Other Thoughts: I hear they run hot on stock coolers. I'm using a large heatsink with a heatpipe feature and it stays nice and cool.
