5 out of 5 eggsThe Best of The Beast!

Pros: Very powerful processor, much cooler than my previous Extreme setup which was the EE 3.73Ghz CPU, I still like this CPU, running on the Zalman 9700NT very cool below 22C idle. Would buy another if the economy wasn’t this bad.

Cons: Price, Price and Price! But in America everyone should know "I get what you paid for" and "there's nothing for free". So buy this if you have cash flow!

Other Thoughts: I'll skip the i7 line of Processor and wait till Intel releases the Extreme i7 at 33nm then it's time for me to upgrade.

2 out of 5 eggsIts like getting lexus for the price of a bentley.

Pros: Its nice and overclocks beautifully.

Cons: If you still guessing its price.

Other Thoughts: Seven and a half times more expensive then core i7 that will destroy it. Ive Seen it, and convinced.

5 out of 5 eggsTHE MOST POWERFUL 775 SOCKET PROCESSOR EVER CREATED

Pros: This processor is incredibly powerful. There isn't anything I can't do.

Cons: It's TDP of 136 watts makes it one of the hottest processors ever manufactured by Intel.

Other Thoughts: ONLY the Core i7 Extreme 965 is able to out perform this processor across the board regardless of application.

5 out of 5 eggsDO NOT BUY THIS.

Pros: Fast processor.

Cons: Already obsolete, and more expensive than a top of the line Xeon i7 of the same speed. Because of the inconvenient and unexpected release of the Core i7 line, places like newegg can't liquidate these, and they have too much money sunk into them to sell them at a loss.

This won't stack up to a standard Core i7 940, which you can purchase for 700 USD less. For the extra money, you can also get the best motherboard available for said processor, so this is a no win.

Other Thoughts: I feel bad for vendors, Intel really left them out to dry on this one, but thems the breaks.

2 out of 5 eggsTruth is

Pros: You can impress the ladies.

Cons: What you lack in brain cells you make up with dollar signs if you purchase this.

Other Thoughts: The best part about forking over huge sums of money instead of getting a gym membership means that your chip will be worth squat in 3 years.

Pros: Overclocks like a dream! +4GHz With water cooling and very stable. Runs Boinc @100% all Cores and still plays games with no noticable slowdowns.

Cons: Cost is a wallet breaker...

Other Thoughts: QX9770 OC +4GHz, Asus p5e3 deluxe wifi-ap@n
8GB Corsair 1600 XMP DDR3

5 out of 5 eggsIntels 775 latest and greatest

Pros: I am not a overclocker but so far I have not thrown anything at this chip that it could not handle. However I am not a gammer, I render hugh Video files and the chip has not even coughed.
The best part about buying this chip was that I shopped around and found it for $710.00 with free shipping.

Cons: Even at 710 dollars I feel was still too much for the chip.
With the 1600 FSB I was expecting this chip to be faster than it is. I guess my expectancy was set too high.

Other Thoughts: My system is setting in a mid tower 712-4HLW-SS Case w/ Temperature LCD Bubble Lights

QX9770

5 out of 5 eggsJaw dropping performance

Pros: Quad-Core, 1600FSB, Highly recommended CPU for anyone that game's Edit videos. Our just pain out insane like myself

Cons: A bit on the pricey side. However You get what you pay for. Requires a good Cooling device. Please Note this is just the CPU chip itself. No heat sink and fan included. I highly recommend the Zelmans copper cooler

Other Thoughts: You spend a premium price to get a really good quality item. With this CPU. I have extended the lifespan of my desktop for I'd say 10-15 years before it gets overpowered by new software and more demanding games and apps.
