works great
- Pros: built a strong machine with an Nvidia e-GeForce 9600 GT (pci express 2.0). No overclocking, i like to keep things simple. with just 2GB ram, this processor, and the nvidia card, i am able to run Call of Duty4 at full detail, full resolution, etc. Machine is also used for a lot of heavy 3d modeling and rendering. Runs Solidworks, 3d studio max, and alias pretty well.
- Cons: None. Like i said, i keep things simple. No overclocking.
- Other Thoughts: Its a processor and it works.
- Pros: Great Little CPU, wish I could have gotten a Quad Core, but when I bought this, at launch, a Q6600 was a lot more $$$. Idles at 37 Celsius and loads around 40 (4 hours of COD 4)
- Cons: None really, mine won't OC without a BSOD.
- Other Thoughts: System as Follows- E7200, Palit Sonic 8800gt w/ 1 gig of memory, Six gigs of Patriot Viper, EP 35 DS3l, Seagate Barracuda 750, Pinnacle PCTV HD Tuner, Vista Ultimate x64
Overclockable without effort
- Pros: Without even a voltage change, mine will do 3.16 GHz as if it were rated to do so. It barely even affects the temperature under load (52 deg C at most). I haven't pushed it further simply because I don't want to kill it prematurely.
- Cons: Stock heat sink is utterly garbage. Toss it if you plan to overclock and use something better.
- Other Thoughts: I used the stock heatsink that was on my Q6600 which is twice as tall and has a copper base. Not the best, but it's adequate for the E7200.
