4 out of 5 eggsDecent CPU

Pros: Works as advertised. comes clocked at 3.3ghz out of the box which is nice and 73 Watts which leaves plenty of room for overclocking.

Cons: As always with a only a duel core cpu you will not be running many modern games on max-ultra settings such as BF3, MW3, or Crysis II. You get what you pay for and for 140 bucks this cpu can't be beat. The stockIntel fan is a joke as you all must already know. It doesnt sit properly over the cpu or lock in tight. I bought some silver laced heat reduction goupe from Radio shack and it is working wonders so far. Temps sitting at a cool 31 C. Idle and 52 C. under heavy load, so not bad. Til I decide to overclock mine ill stay with stock fan but I'd advise anyone thinking of overclocking to get a self contained cpu liquid cooling radiator/rear fan combo.

Other Thoughts: I payed for UPS shipping and the shipping box had a puncture mark in the side off it so I was kind of freaking out, especially when the delivery guy shoved it in my chest, didn't say a word or ask for a signature and left. All and all a good buy but I am now very wary of UPS for my future shipping needs.

5 out of 5 eggsTOO OLD

Pros: FAST---FAST THIS CHIP BLEW ME AWAY I ALREADY HAVE THE S.B. 2500 AND I7 875K BOTH O.C. SO I REALLY WASN'T PREPARED FOR THIS KIND OF PERFORMANCE FOR A DUAL CORE.THIS IS ONLY 73W SO THE STOCK H.S. WILL WORK FINE.EVEN ON O.C. YOU WOULD NEVER GO OVER 100W.

Cons: I HAVE TO SAY PRICE BECAUSE OF IT'S AGE. I ALREADY HAD AN OLD HIGH END 1156 M.B ONLY REASON WHY I BOUGHT IT.

Other Thoughts: I THINK THE PRICE IS TOO HIGH BUT AFTER RUNNING THE CHIP I REALLY CAN'T COMPLAIN THE SPEED IS REALLY AMAZING JUST A BLINK OF AN EYE IT'S GONE.THAT'S RUNNING IT AT 3.3 STOCK CAN'T WAIT TO O.C. I ALWAYS WAIT A FEW DAY'S TO BREAK IN CHIP.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Plenty of processor for computer built. No need to spend tons of money on much more than needed. I expect this build to last 7 to 8 years.

Cons: Don't really have one. It would be great if it was a quad core, for the same price.

5 out of 5 eggsHuman Brain

Pros: PROCESSING POWER!!!
very, very fast
keeps cool(see below)

Cons: NONE!

Other Thoughts: I didn't have the heart to put this as a con but there was no way I was trusting my awesome CPU with the heat sink it came with so I bought my own.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Starting i3 processor

Pros: I have been playing with computers for a long time now and finally got into computer building. My first build used this processor and the components I will list in the Other Thoughts.

This processor has been able to do everything I ask of it and only now that I have been thinking of minor overclocking, am I looking into a non stock heat sink and what I can do with it. With almost stock settings and completely stock hardware, Prime95 takes her up to 70*C fairly quickly and I shut the torture test off. This i3 will complete each of the tests in roughly 2 minutes and likes to sit around 70-72 degrees for a bit.

Cons: Not really a con for this processor, but a con on Intel's naming scheme and my idiocy for not doing more research.

When I went to build my first computer, I thought the 1156 socket was newer then the 1155 and only now am I learning my faults and am thinking about an upgrade or remake and sell off the old one.

If going for your first computer, look into the 1155 motherboards before ruling them out, they look pretty nice. The new 2011 boards if I am absorbing the information right will be the 1366 style chips on the 1155 chipset?

5 out of 5 eggsAnother Fine Product From Intel

Pros: Dropped it in and it worked! This is a great processor for a budget system. It is fast enough for most systems but affordable. The on-board video when matched with a compatible motherboard met my expectations. Comes complete with a fan and heatsink.

Cons: It isn't an Intel Core i7.

Other Thoughts: I matched this with an Asus P7Q57-M DO motherboard and 2GB Kingston KVR1333D3K2/2GR memory. Build a system for my kid from a used case. Runs Windows XP great.

5 out of 5 eggsValue Performance

Pros: - Extremely fast out of the box
- Stock cooling solution is quiet, effective and unobtrusive
- Good overclocking potential with a bit of a cooling upgrade
- Lowest power state pulls a sparse 13w

Cons: - LGA 1155 has already spelled the end of this processor
- Load temps are a bit warm with stock cooling

Other Thoughts: After failing miserably with the thermal paste job the first time around (45c idle, 80+ load), got the thing pulling much more normal temperatures for a stock cooling job. Idles just below the 30c mark, loads up to 60 flat and stays there even after an hour of Prime95. I'll take it!

This is part of a $400 budget build for gaming, emulation, and general purpose use. Its speed is already impressing me without the need for an overclock and it handles everything I've thrown at it like a champion. Highly recommended.

Current build:
- Biostar Eco i2 LGA 1156 barebone
- Intel Core i3-560 3.33GHz
- G.Skill 4GB 12800 RAM
- ASUS ENGT430 - Nvidia GeForce GT 430 Fermi
- Seagate Barracuda 500GB (re-used)
- Generic DVD/CD burner (re-used)

5 out of 5 eggsBoxed Intel CPU

Pros: A great low power CPU. 64 bit and built in GPU. Perfect for a home built NAS or some other kind of server. I use this CPU in a low cost\low power micro ATX configuration that runs 64 bit Windows server with web, SQL and mail services. 8GB RAM for this board cost me $89 from NewEgg.

Cons: None. it is perfect for the job I selected it for.

Other Thoughts: I wish there was a quad core version that was as in expensive.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This is a great processor for the money it runs my COD Black ops perfectly with no problems. Its super fast for a triple core and i have a stock cooling fan that come with it and it only gets to about 42c at the max but usually only runs about 30c.

Cons: n/a
