I have overclocked to 4.8 gHz with just a coolermaster hyper 212, under heavy load temps never go over 50 degrees. Relatively low voltage as well. I highly recommend this processor. I've seen this baby and the 2600k both out do the Ivy bridge setups for gaming I've been seeing lots of trouble with ivy bridge and as far as I'm concerned windows 8 doesn't do anything for me. I just want one of these for a Maximus gaming rig! Cons: New egg is going out of stock so hopefully they buy another pile to sell us... I can't find anything it doesn't do well. All benchmarks went up, got .4 more on Windows User Experience. Clocked it to 4.1 no problem and barely saw an increase in temp. Totally stable. My next jump would be to an Extreme but I don't see that happening anytime soon with this chip's performance. And as somebody mentioned it is cool to see 8 cores from my mainboard in HT. There is absolutely no need to overclock(It's fine as is)but overclocking is easy and you can get some extremely high speeds (I got mine to 4.56ghz). I love that my motherboard reads 8 cores with HT. If you want a multipurpose chip, which in my opinion beats out the AMD FX 8 Core chip, this is the chip for you. It kicks any program to the ground and spits in its face, perfect for anyone. Cons: It didn't come with my pizza. The new intell processers have gone all eco friendly, this one uses more power, and transfers that extra power into preformance. Games that use alot of computing power, like Hearts of iron, Supperpower, or civilization. this processer will play them faster. I run this at 4.8 ghz, I bairly get 4.2 out of my ivybridge. Cons: this is Ideal for desxtops, with a good water cooler, its about the best preformance you can get. for a laptop Ive ridge might be better, they generate less heat and draw less power.
