Pros: I upgraded from a q6600 and I am surprised and how much faster this processor is. I was expecting a little extra but its not even close.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: I dont overclock so I cant comment on that aspect of it. Hard to say its worth 1 1/2 days pay but it is

Huge boost over E8400

Pros: I don't know what Kevin is talking about. Vista immediately recognized all 4 cores. I did get a message during start up about not being to get the full potential out of the processor until I updated the bios. I knew that going in and already had the update waiting. This processor runs circles around my old E8400. It has literally cut the start up and shut down times in half. I actually got this for forty bucks cheaper at a micro store. I don't see any reason to go to the new i7 yet. This quad core is more than enough for most people out there.
Cons: I gave it 4 eggs because of the pathetic fan and heatsink that comes with it. If you use the stock cooler it will run hot.
Other Thoughts: Do yourself a favor and buy a bigger and better heatsink and fan to protect your investment. I'm using the ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro 92mm CPU Cooler I got here a few weeks ago. Make sure you take the fan off before trying to install. Now even when I push the cpu using 3d benchmark it never goes above 27c no matter how hard I push it.

Pros: Comming from a phenom 9600 with the tlb error....this baby smokes.. i wanted to go with i7-920 which is wicked fast...q9400 is right behind the i7 core.... i have it overclocked @ 3.4ghz which cuts through my apps games like hot butter...

Expensive and almost worth the extra

Pros: 1. OC'd to 3.2 GHz full time and stays cool 36 to 41 on all four cores at idle with Artic Pro Cooling 7 Freezer
2. No issues or extra vcore needed for 3.5 Ghz but I keep it to 3.2 GHz for slightly cooler overclock temps
Cons: Expensive but needed it for video work. Won't go with Intel next time but will try AMD quad core for better value. For the price of this, I could have got a combo deal AM3 mobo and Phenom II X4 955 which OC's to 3.7 GHz very stable
Other Thoughts: Only editing DVD rez movies now but when I go HD I hope this CPU gives back on my investment!
