Crush your enemies, climb the tower of paperwork, or do both at the same time. Intel's Core i7 processor not only makes it possible, it makes it easy. The Core i7 920 has quad cores that run at 2.66GHz and shares 8MB of L3 cache.
Quad cores means true multi-tasking and multi-threading. One core handles the usual action on your operating system, while the second can play a DVD on the TV, the third download a file from internet, and the fourth one sends audio to the kids in another room without lags or stutters. All this is made easier with Intel’s advanced Digital Media Boost.
With Intel Turbo Boost technology and Intel Hyper-Threading technology, The Core i7 enables highly threaded applications or demanding applications to work in maximum speed without need the slightest effort. The 45nm Intel Core i7 processor is armed Intel HD Boost, which implementing new Intel Streaming SIMD Extension 4.1 (Intel SSE4.1) instructions for fast high definition video editing and encoding, enhance the multimedia performance.

Good CPU, bad pricing.....
- Pros: increased performance over older Quad Core CPU's
- Cons: Price Vs. Performance
- Other Thoughts: Basically, if you already own a Quad Core Q6600 or a higher end Dual Core CPU, upgrading to this won't improve your performance by a great degree. Also factoring in $200+ for a motherboard and 3 sticks of DDR3 memory, this setup could cost more than it's worth. If your an advanced user who runs software that utilizes the multiple cores of your CPU, such as VMware or other, you will notice the performance enhancements to a greater degree. In my opinion, most regular users and gamers would be better served buying a Q6600 and a bargain motherboard which will produce similar results at half the cost. Wait until next year when prices come down substantially.
Awesome...pure and simple
- Pros: Definitly one of the best processors out there right now. I was blown away at how fast this chip was, and I just came off of a Core 2 Quad 9450 and I still noticed a huge difference. Crysis is now a thing of the past with this processor, mind you I only said processor not graphics card
- Cons: None at all. The only thing that would have been nice would have been to put the new 35nm chips in instead of the 45nm because the 35s are gonna be out in less then 6 months anyway, so they should have just put them into this processor.
- Other Thoughts: NZXT Guardian gaming case

Fast, Cheap, Cool.. enough said?
- Pros: There is over 1700 reviews, and 93% rated 5 eggs, I don't really need to write a good review saying how great it is.
Easy to install, runs fast, runs cool and isn't to expensive. Enough said!
- Cons: None.
- Other Thoughts: If you're building a gaming rig, this thing runs great.
Awesome
- Pros: New build went smoothly. Huge upgrade from my Core 2 Duo.
- Cons: None
- Other Thoughts: Using a Coolermaster V8 CPU cooler. Idles in low 40 C, haven't tested temps under full load yet.
- Pros: Excellent performance, with the proper supporting hardware, this thing flies. Run multiple of these units on maxed out BOINC processing with great results and no hardware failures.
- Cons: The system sucks power; there are plenty of other power suckers in the box, and it's expected.
