Crush your enemies, climb the tower of paperwork, or do both at the same time. Intel's Core i7 processor not only makes it possible, it makes it easy. The Core i7 Extreme Edition 975 has quad cores that run at 3.33GHz and shares 8MB of L3 cache.
Quad cores means true multi-tasking and multi-threading. One core handles the usual action on your operating system, while the second can play a DVD on the TV, the third download a file from internet, and the fourth one sends audio to the kids in another room with no lags or stutters. All this is made easier with Intel’s advanced Digital Media Boost.
With Intel Turbo Boost technology and Intel Hyper-Threading technology, The Core i7 enables highly threaded applications or demanding applications to work in maximum speed without need the slightest effort. The 45nm Intel Core i7 processor is armed Intel HD Boost, which implementing new Intel Streaming SIMD Extension 4.1 (Intel SSE4.1) instructions for fast high definition video editing and encoding, enhance the multimedia performance.

Seem Rediculous To Me!
- Pros: Does everything Intel says it will do. Excellent CPU.
- Cons: I have built 2 new i7 computers. Both use identical hardware except for the cpu. One uses an i7 920, the other an i7 975. In my opinion the entire Core i7 line-up of CPUs are all fundamentally the same. The only real difference is the clock speed.
When I can easily over clock a 920 to 3.8GHz on air safely for 24/7 operation, having spent only $280, I believe it makes no sense to spend $1,000 for a 975.
- Other Thoughts: Do yourself, and your bank account a favor, and buy a 920.
King of the Hill!
- Pros: Another beast is born! This processor tears through everything. It yields a Windows Experience of 7.9 in Win7 and overclocks passed 4.5GHz without a problem on good air cooling.
- Cons: This processor must be paired off with expensive mobo, expensive RAM (preferably 12GB+), expensive PSU, expensive SSD boot drive, and expensive heatsink to do it justice. Con=expensive.
- Other Thoughts: I broke the bank for this beast, and it really cooks. Is it worth it? It is to me, but you decide what's best for yourself. Good luck trying to do it just for under $4k.

Intel all the way !!
- Pros: I built this system into an Antec Sonata case with an Antec 650 watt supply, 4 monitor video card, ssd, 1tb hard drive. 2 cd/dvd drives. 1 card reader. And a Linksys wireless adapter. This is a beautiful build if I do say so myself. This system is the greatest I've ever run !!
- Cons: The HP printer and scanner software problems went away when I installed them in this machine. I had fought that software for years blaming HP. Looks like when you use Intell those wird " compatibility " problems go away.
- Other Thoughts: This system runs cool and quiet with the fans on low. I don't overclock.
I don't know which I love the most, Intel or Newegg, I guess they are both tops in what they do !!!
Beyond fast!
- Pros: This thing is a monster, and pretty much the fastest consumer grade CPU out on the market at this time. Rendering it AutoCAD is much snappier, upgrading from a QX9770.
- Cons: Pricey for the average consumer, and would be better off with a i7 920
- Other Thoughts: Personally, I would have bought a 920, but since it was company paid for, I couldn't help it.
Runs fine, OC's not too well
- Pros: Runs at stock speeds quite well. Fastest CPU on the market, no doubt.
- Cons: May've just been luck, but mine overclocked quite poorly. People are constantly mentioning that they could get over 4ghz easily on the stock cooler. I installed a Cooler Master N520 and I could not get past 3.7ghz without going over 80C or the BSOD. This is with all the case fans maxed out, and an ASUS Rampage II Gene, some of the best hardware on the market. Very disappointed, and you can't return a product for it not overclocking well...
- Other Thoughts: Again, this could be luck, but this is my experience with this product.
