Upgrade your system with the Core i5-750 and own the processor that speeds up when you do. These CPU powerhouses are designed to handle the intense compute and visualization workloads like video games and image editing applications. Core i5 processors allow you to multitask faster and unleash powerful media creation tools.

Best of all, the 8MB of Intel Smart Cache gives you blazing speeds you never realized were possible. Take advantage of Intel Turbo Boost technology which dynamically accelerates CPU performance to match your workload. The Integrated Memory Controller optimizes data bandwidth with two channels.

Smart Cache provides a higher-performance, more efficient cache subsystem while the Core microarchitecture accelerates overall system performance across your applications through energy efficiency. Add the Intel Core i5-750 to your system and you’ll never look back. Experience the convenience, versatility and raw power of Intel Core i5 processors today!

  • newegg Intel Core i5 Quad-core Processor With four processing cores, the multitasking monster Quad-Core Intel Core i5 processor delivers fourfold the performance on highly-threaded applications, taking your desktop PC experience into a completely new realm of mega power. The powerful processor delivers serious performance on the ultra-demanding games of today and tomorrow. The innovative 45nm quad-core technology optimizes thermal performance for reduced power consumption and noise.
  • newegg Intel Advanced Smart Cache Intel Advanced Smart Cache Technology dynamically allocates the shared L2 cache to each processor core based on workload. This efficient, multi-core-optimized implementation increases the probability that each core can access data from fast L2 cache, resulting in significantly reduced latency for frequently used data and improved performance.
  • newegg Intel Turbo Boost technology Intel Turbo Boost technology maximizes speed for demanding applications, dynamically accelerating performance to match your workload-more performance when you need it the most.
  • newegg Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology (EIST) EIST allows the system to dynamically adjust processor voltage and core frequency to decrease average power consumption and average heat production. Combined with existing power saving features, EIST may provide an excellent balance between providing power when you need it and conserving power when you don’t.
  • newegg Execute Disable Bit (EDB) Intel's Execute Disable Bit function can prevent certain classes of malicious "buffer overflow" attacks when combined with a supporting operating system. Execute Disable Bit allows the processor to classify areas in memory where application code can execute and where it cannot. When a malicious worm attempts to insert code in the buffer, the processor disables code execution, preventing damage or worm propagation.
  • newegg Intel Virtualization Technology (Intel VT) With Intel VT, one hardware platform functions as multiple "virtual" platforms. For business, Intel VT offers improved manageability, limiting downtime and maintaining worker productivity by isolating computing activities into separate partitions. In the home, Intel VT allows creating unique user environments for multiple family members using the same platform simultaneously.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat CPU

Pros: Very good CPU, OC to 3.2 GHZ without problems, was going to go to 3.8 but that I broke part of my Heatsink so it doesn't seat as well.

Cons: None at all

5 out of 5 eggsUpdate

Pros: This processor tolerates overclocking very well. I have mine running at 3.497 gHz with the stock cooler. It took 5 cycles of IntelBurn Test like a champ. At load it stays around 70C and idles at 42C.
Ideal for gaming since most games don't take advantage of the i7.

Cons: Absolutely nothing.

Other Thoughts: I have had this CPU for a year and half, it is still going strong, have had zero issues.

4 out of 5 eggsAmazing

Pros: I've owned this cpu for over a year and it has never let me down. it has performed very well in all tasks and even with the stock cooler has kept at low temps.

Another great thing about these is their overclocking potential. With slight voltage increase I can get this to 4.2 ghz and run stably over 12 hours. Of course it should be paired with a good aftermarket cooler so it does not melt, but even on air it stayed below 75 C on on load at over 4 ghz.

Cons: The price is a too high, i bought this a year ago for less than it costs now.

Other Thoughts: this is great for a mid-high range gaming machine. However if you want to do things even more intensive such as live streaming video games or heavy editing, I would go with one of the i7's with hyper threading, get a stand alone water cooler and just work with that.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat CPU, Horrible Heatsink and Fan

Pros: This CPU is definitely one of the best out there. It's a solid performer and a good value. I don't game but for everything else I do, it seems to do it pretty smoothly.

Cons: The stock Intel heatsink and fan is HORRIBLE. Maybe the only good thing I can say about it is, it is quiet.

To install it completely securely, I would need to bend my motherboard to get all for legs to lock onto the motherboard. I did the best I could to secure it without bending my motherboard (of course) and several weeks later the computer would shut off about 10 to 20 seconds after power on. After much guessing and investigating as to why this was happening I discovered Intel's stock heatsink and fan came loose, two of the legs came off the motherboard so it was not making good contact with the CPU causing the CPU to shut itself down to protect itself from overheating/damage.

Other Thoughts: When you get an Intel CPU -any Intel CPU, factor into your shopping/budget, a good after-market CPU cooler.

TIP: You can find wonderful CPU cooler reviews at Frosty Tech.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent i5 quadcore

Pros: I've owned this processor since March of last year and I have been a very happy camper. For most of the year, I have had this processor stable at 4ghz and have been happy with the speed when paired with an SSD. Fast Lightroom/PS rendering and overall responsiveness have spoiled me when comparing it to C2D 1.6ghz laptop.
I have recently returned the clock back to default as I don't play as many games as I did. This has cut my power usage from around 170w to around 100w during idle according to my UPS. When I do fire up a game, my GPU is still the bottleneck (ATI 5770).
I highly recommend this processor if you're looking for a high degree of overclock without cranking up the voltage to high levels (that is if the current batch are as reliable as last year's if changed).

Cons: Doesn't make me a sandwich, but isn't that a con for every item on NewEgg?

Other Thoughts: It turbos to 3.2ghz according to CPU-Z during usage. Good enough for when I need it.
