Good Processor
- Pros: I wanted a quad core processor and I wasn't up for paying out for an i7. Seriously considered the AMD quad cores, finally went with the i5 after a lot of research. Almost a coin flip over an AMD 955. This processor will handle what I'm going to do for at least 3 years, which is what I wanted. Moving from one PC to another is a real pain, so I generally keep my main work computer for 3 years or so. The quad core will handle my most intensive task which is working with Oracle. I do some development at home and I won't have a ton of data. Just enough to verify things Memory, processor and then disk are what is important with DB's and I've got the memory, processor and sufficient I/O to do what i want. Very happy with how it performs
- Cons: This is probably overkill if you just do office tasks.
Great processor for the money
- Pros: The cost is great for the performance. Its not top of the line, but neither is the price.
- Cons: Stock cooler seems "old school". Looks like they have a newer design coming out with some of the next gen CPUs. It seems to keep it cool enough, but it just seems tiny.
- Other Thoughts: You can't go wrong with this CPU. I had a heck of a time choosing this over the i7-920, but the difference in price vs. the difference in performance just didn't add up. Not for the normal user / gamer anyway.

Overall, I'm very impressed with this CPU's performance and overclocking capability. If you're looking to not break the bank on the newest Intel technology, this a great processor! Blows the Core 2 Duo's that I had out of the water.
