Decent overclocker, could be better
- Pros: Runs great, POSTED as soon as i installed everything, no problems, replaced stock cooler with ZALMAN CNPS9900LED, idle temps are around 15-25C at stock speeds. Great price for performance.
Overclocked to around 3.8GHZ and idle temps are around 35-40 and load temps around 60, if prime95 is used, they get to around 65-70 max.
Overall pretty good..
- Cons: Needs alot of voltage to be stable, not sure if it's the fact that i got a bad overclocker or that the mobo is at fault but i need around 1.38250 core voltage just to get it stable at 3.8GHZ, other people need around 1.28-1.32 to get it stable at that speed.
Will not run stable at 4.0GHZ unless REALLY high voltage is applied (1.43-1.45)
But by then temps reach around 75 and up to 80 in testing software like Linx...
- Other Thoughts: I'm fine with 3.8GHZ though, it's good enough for me but i just hoped that i could get it to work at a little lower voltage so temps don't get this high.
Also, not sure about this "foxconn socket problem", but i haven't had any problems yet.
