5 out of 5 eggsGreat Bang For The Win!!!

Pros: Great everyday processor. I like the speed and the HT. Very Stable and powerful for gaming and everyday work.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I bought the 2500k 5 months ago and between my 661 and the new 2500k in gaming I see no difference in performance.

5 out of 5 eggsamazing!!

Pros: easy to overclock, I over clocked it to 4.2 GHz on liquid cooling, and its stable! however for daily use i have it overclocked to 3.8Ghz just to be on the safe side.

Cons: none!

Other Thoughts: This is really a sweet proc for the money.

4 out of 5 eggsCPU Review

Pros: This processor has the video on die and if you are looking to save some money and space then this is the processor.

By space I mean that you will not have to lose hard drive bays because of a 10" or longer video card.

Cons: Not a con and no way a deal breaker to remove an egg, but when selecting a board with this processor, read the manual. An instance, one board said to make sure that in the BIOS you make sure it is set to VGA video first before moving on to setting the video to DVI or HDMI.

Other Thoughts: After overclocking this processor, it handle well. Temps were good and got extra juice out of it. Leaving it at stock speeds, it handle well. If you are going to be just using simple tasks and Internet, save some money and buy this.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat CPU

Pros: This is a great CPU, owned it for 6 months and not a hiccup. I'm a semi-hardcore gamer and it performs nicely on my games.

Cons: Stock heatsink is not great I suggest a Hyper 212 + it's inexpensive and does what it advertises

5 out of 5 eggsfool me twice - shame on me

Pros: I'm not a gamer anymore, so I wasn't looking for super high performance graphics. As with my old Pentium 4, I fell for the Intel sales pitch about their integrated graphics. If you are just doing office work, they're great. But if you are viewing or working with photos, they're horrible. The pics I've transferred look grainy. I can only assume video performance is just as bad. I really thought integrated graphics performance would have improved over the last 6 or 7 years, but they apparently haven't.

I gave it 5 eggs because it is still an excellent processor for what it is.

Cons: Integrated graphics are not suitable for anything but basic office/home applications.

Other Thoughts: Even if you are not a gamer, do yourself a favor and buy a CPU w/o integrated graphics, a P55 mother board, and a sub $50 graphics card. Something based on the ATI Radeon HD 4650, or NVIDIA GeForce equivalent, should blow away the integrated graphics performance.

5 out of 5 eggsNice!

Pros: Yeah...I don't know about other people's thoughts, but I mainly game on my pc (since 1984) and this cpu does it amazingly well. Of course the intergrated gpu is NOT for gamers...but gee, look! I have a high end gpu in the pci slot...sooooooo, it actually does way better in some games as the i5 750 and vice versa. I actually went to buy the i5 750, but they were out, so I got this one instead (I already knew the 661 was an adequate sub).

Cons: yes, i actually think it could be around $20-40 less

Other Thoughts: yay Intel!

2 out of 5 eggsNot Worth The Cost!

Pros: Great If You Only Do 1 Thing At A Time On Your PC!

Cons: Freezes Up When You Open 2 Or More Programs. And Don't Even Try To Do Any Movie Editing Or Burning And Open Another Program, It Comes Up "Not Responding" And Freezes! I Wasted 209.00 On This CPU.

Other Thoughts: Also Had To Re-Install Windows 7 Ultimate For Windows To Reconize The HD Video On The CPU! Using The Intel DH55TC Motherboard With The CPU....

5 out of 5 eggsA note about IGP

Pros: I'd like to point out something for people who are saying "i5-760 is the same price for a quad-core, buy that"... The i5-661 has the highest clocked IGP (integrated graphics processor) of the current i series cpu's. You buy this processor to so that you don't have to buy a video card (assuming a IGP suits your needs). This higher clocked IGP (relative to other i3's and i5's) is perfect for a HTPC.

Cons: Don't be dumb. Do your homework.

4 out of 5 eggsI actually have one

Pros: This CPU is a great performer. It is overclockable and comparatively cool. The video is great for integrated and bests the AMD\ATi and nVidia alternatives in a lot of DirectX applications. The video does not work on P series chipsets which was not noted in one review that complained about video not working.

Cons: The price is a tad high but if a person is knowledgeable enough to build a PC then they should research all alternatives.

The GPU is very weak in GL applications and those on a professional level need to buy an add in video card for CAD and other OpenGL graphical applications.

Other Thoughts: This CPU is not a power HOGG as many would lead people to believe. I have tested it against higher and lower rated AMD quads (even an 905e) and it wind hands down with the right setup.

I am Archer and I do reviews and I can tell you that to complain about the price of an item that you purchased that functions as promised is simply a lack of research on the part of the owner. To complain about a product that you lack a full understand of is also wrong.

Please do your homework before purchasing technology you may not be familiar with.
