5 out of 5 eggsIntel chip

Pros: Placing it on the board not hard to do. Much bigger than AMD I am used too. And fan is so convenient to come with it. So quiet. And seem powerful to be clarkdale too.

5 out of 5 eggsBest processor I've had so far...

Pros: Very powerful for it's TDP (73W). I got this pre-installed in my Dell Inspiron 580 and it's done everything I've asked of it without slowing down even while playing intensive games like Skyrim.

Cons: It is for a legacy socket, LGA 1156, and so quality motherboards for it aren't being manufactured, anymore.

4 out of 5 eggsMy original CPU

Pros: Great CPU, I started out with this one, it pretty much gets the job done (opening multiple programs, tabs, etc.)
I used it for gaming as well, with a GeForce GT 430 which isn't good at all (can run minecraft, vindictus, TF2, and other games that aren't too graphics inducing). The CPU never really seemed to work itself too hard, never overheated or sent high temperature signals to the heat sync.

Cons: Can't play games that are demanding but that depends on the graphics card as well.

Other Thoughts: I'm getting the ntel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz soon ^^

4 out of 5 eggsGood CPU

Pros: Had this CPU for about 5 maybe 6 months now and it Can run multiple programs (Adobe CS5 )at the same time without any lag what so ever. It can handle prety much anything you throw at this thing. It stays cool with the stock fan, and aftermarket thermal paste. Temp. does not go above 50 degrees. You can play for hours on end, without any different change in temps or performance. I would recommend this game if you game or work with programs. If you are a serious gamer, than you might want to look at the i7 2600K CPU well worth the money.

Cons: When you get into the more serious gaming, it can't handle that much. Referring to "Arma2:OA" which requires a lot of CPU. That is the only game I exp. problems with. No, problems so far with any other games.

4 out of 5 eggsBeyond this CPU

Pros: You get what you pay for.

Cons: I had to make a claim on the CPU fan. The wire harness was getting whacked by the fan blades and produced a horrible noise.

Other Thoughts: I've outgrown this for it's original use, and plan to upgrade as on any normal day I'm using this CPU to 80 to 100% capacity.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid (for it's time. aka a year ago)

Pros: Very solid performer, seems to be readily overclockable too. I've got a system paired with an SSD and a 460 GTX, and I'm pretty sure I'll be managing 1080p gaming for several years to come without a problem.

I managed an overclock to 3.6 stable with about an hour of tinkering/testing one afternoon. I'll push higher once my new heatsink arrives. I'm currently on stock.

Cons: Price per core is a bit high, but you get a little more clock speed than in a quad core.

Other Thoughts: A lot of P55 motherboards run DDR3-1333 standard. Overclocking's the only way to make the most of your RAM, which is largely DDR3-1600. But even if you don't, so long as you have parts that don't bottleneck your computer (read: SSD), your computer will be snappy as heck.

3.6 Overclock w/ CPU Ratio of 25, BLCK Frequency of 144, 1.1875 Volts.

5 out of 5 eggsrunning it for 2 years

Pros: got this CPU as a replacement for a E5200... running 24/7 for almost 2 years OC 4.0 GHz with core temp 28C idle and 48C at full usage. It was a great buy in 2010... now rather spend the money on a 1155 or even 2011... unless you can buy this one for $80 somewhere....

Cons: 1156 socket is near EOL

Other Thoughts: I hope to enjoy as much the future Intel products as I did this CPU!

4 out of 5 eggsNice

Pros: It runs quick and overclocks to a decent speed. 4.0 GHZ.

Cons: 1156 Socket is going away. I was able to overclock my i3 to a faster speed on the same board, so the chip does not seem that much better than my i3.

Other Thoughts: I will be waiting till next year to upgrade again, after more 2011 socket chips come out and the price dips on those.
