Crush your enemies, climb the tower of paperwork -- or do both at the same time. Intel's Core i7 processor not only makes it possible, it makes it easy. The Core i7 930 has four cores that run at 2.8GHz and shares 8MB of L3 cache.

Quad cores means true multi-tasking and multi-threading. One core handles the usual action on your operating system, while the second can play a DVD on the TV, the third download a file from internet, and the fourth one sends audio to the kids in another room without lags or stutters. All this is made easier with Intel’s advanced Digital Media Boost.

With Intel Turbo Boost technology and Intel Hyper-Threading technology, the Core i7 enables highly threaded applications or demanding applications to work in maximum speed without any extra effort. The 45nm Intel Core i7 processor is armed with Intel HD Boost, which implementing new Intel Streaming SIMD Extension 4.2 (Intel SSE4.2) instructions for fast high definition video editing and encoding, enhance the multimedia performance.

  • newegg Intel Core i7 Quad-core Processor With four processing cores, the multitasking monster Quad-Core Intel Core i7 processor delivers fourfold the performance on highly-threaded applications, taking your desktop PC experience into a completely new realm of mega power. The powerful processor delivers serious performance on the ultra-demanding games of today and tomorrow. The innovative 45nm quad-core technology optimizes thermal performance for reduced power consumption and noise.
  • newegg Integrated DDR3 Memory Controller With the integrated DDR3 memory controller, the Intel Core i7 enables three channels of DDR3 1066 MHz memory, resulting in up to 25.6 GB/sec memory bandwidth. Plus the memory controller's lower latency and higher memory bandwidth delivers amazing performance for data-intensive applications.
  • newegg Intel Advanced Smart Cache Intel Advanced Smart Cache Technology dynamically allocates the shared L3 cache to each processor core based on workload. This efficient, multi-core-optimized implementation increases the probability that each core can access data from fast L3 cache, resulting in significantly reduced latency for frequently used data and improved performance.
  • newegg Intel Turbo Boost technology Intel Turbo Boost technology maximizes speed for demanding applications, dynamically accelerating performance to match your workload -- more performance when you need it the most.
  • newegg Intel Wide Dynamic Execution With Intel Wide Dynamic Execution, each of the four cores can complete up to four full instructions simultaneously, improves execution speed and efficiency, delivering more instructions per clock cycle.
  • newegg Greater Performance with Hyper-Threading Technology (HT Technology) Hyper-threading enables multi-threaded software applications to execute two software threads in parallel to improve system responsiveness. Intel Core i7 processors enabled with HT Technology deliver performance and multitasking gains that result in increased productivity and efficiency.

5 out of 5 eggsGoing strong!

Pros: Great value, fast, does the job, been going for 3.5 years

Cons: None?

Other Thoughts: Despite the fact that my Zalman heatsink/fan has never made a full connection (one corner doesn't fully clip in the mobo) this CPU has never had a problem. It's pretty beast mode.

4 out of 5 eggspretty pretty good

Pros: This CPU has withstood the test of time. Hasn't failed me so far. Didn't boot when overclocked though so I had to default it to stock speed. I'm taking off an egg for that; then again it could have just been me messing up and not the CPU.

Cons: Seems like it heats up pretty easily even when not overclocked but I guess that's more of a heatsink problem. Wish the stock heatsink would have been a little better?

5 out of 5 eggsi7 rocks

Pros: Last me over 3 years now. Fast, quad core- runs cool using Corsair H50.

Cons: Socket 1366 is now old, but CPU still up to this day gets the job done.

Other Thoughts: Upgrading to 4770K.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: Great, quad core.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Bought this 3 years ago for my build, never had an issue, has always been fast. Somewhat outdated now, but works well for any task.

5 out of 5 eggs3 years later and still running strong

Pros: I've owned this CPU for over 3 years now. Purchased back in July of 2010, this processor doesn't feel a lick slower then the day it came out of the box. That's at stock speeds!

My last build (purchased around April of 2006) made it until 2010 when I just couldn't take it any more. This machine (built in July of 2010), feels basically just as fast as it did when I built it!

I imagine I'll get at least two to three more years out of it (pending hardware failures *knock on wood*) before I'm wanting to go bigger.

I'm still wanting to upgrade my cooler and overclock this champ, but so far I have no need to do so.

Cons: None that I can think of!

At this point in it's life (3 years) my old Operton 165 was showing signs of its age. This thing so far hasn't!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat CPU GJ Intel

Pros: I have been using this Cpu for already over 2 years and i have not had any problems with it. It works great and I am very satisfied with this model and i think it was worth its price. I have never seen my cpu go past 60 C, while using the thermaltake bigwater 760is. This was officially my very first computer that I built for myself, and im glad i went with Intel.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I have been an Intel fan for a long time and probably will remain to be a loyal customer just because of the reliability of their products. Make sure that you do research before buy products, when i bought this model it was being praised and so i went with it. Best decision I made. Good job Intel

5 out of 5 eggsThe Lonely CPU

Pros: This was a great CPU at its debut and still is presently, if only one could find a decent LGA 1366 MB anywhere on sale.

Cons: Intel's LGA 1366 Socket and X58 chipset where shortly discontinued after their release and shafted early adapters of USB3.0 and SATA3 like me everywhere.

5 out of 5 eggsGood part but runs hot

Pros: This cpu runs well very well for any games or programs you might need to run, but hot as hell. Do not rely on the included cooler.

I will say though this thing is still running full mass gave it to a friend of mine a few months back... and he knows nothing about computer temperatures.

It's still running strong!

Cons: Way to hot at first i could get this up to 60c+ ez running one game and maybe a webpage, if you're not looking at aftermarket cooling you're not looking at this.
unless you're in a forever winter... like when i first bought this, i just kept the window opened and it stayed cold =P well for a few months
