5 out of 5 eggsExcellent processor

Pros: This is a fast, excellent processor which is working flawlessly in its first month in my custom-built computer. It's fast and efficient.

Cons: None that I've encountered.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome!

Pros: Very fast cpu, it can be slightly overclocked from 3.2 - 3.6 ghz it's stable and runs smooth!

Cons: the stock fan is a little loud by a little i mean a lot!

Other Thoughts: i bought this to replace my G2120. The overall gain has been ridiculously fast. Since i don't prefer to OC the i53570k seemed a little overkill. If that's your case this cpu is cheap and full of power that most games will just love.

Since the cpu fan is so loud i'll be replacing it with a after market cooler. Just be warned if you're not planning on overclocking, you still want an aftermarket cooler as the fan is annoyingly loud. At first i thought i didn't get the fan completely installed correctly; Nope the fan is just loud. It actually sounds like it's vibrating my case. Eventually my system did throttle it back but for the first hour it was noisy.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect "budget" chip until 2016

Pros: This chip is perfect for those who are trying to cut corners on their build until they can invest into something more future proof. I don't plan on investing in another CPU/MB until the series after Broadwell in 2016.

My reasons?

This chip is more than capable at handling most, if not all modern games when properly overclocked to 4.0GHz on a single core and 3.8GHz on the other 3. I don't feel the price increase justifies the upgrade to a 1150 socket CPU/MB as well as the upcoming Broadwell series. It might be time for an upgrade when 2016 comes around, though.

TL;DR? Just couple this badboy with z75 or z77 motherboard and you'll be good to go.

Cons: Have to have a z75 or z77 motherboard to perform the 4.0 on single and 3.8 on all other cores overclock.

5 out of 5 eggsIntel Core i5-3470

Pros: I put this in my first build and it works well so far!

Cons: Heat sink is pretty cheap, but that was expected. It works but I would consider getting an aftermarket one in the near future, would definitely be required for overclocking.

5 out of 5 eggsi5-3470

Pros: Excellent performance

Cons: No cons.

Other Thoughts: Paired this with a Nvidia GTX750 and am impressed with performance and fps in FSX, F1 2013, and Assetto Corsa.
Currently using the stock cooler but will likely upgrade to a beefier heatsink in the near future in order to bring "under load" temps down a bit.

5 out of 5 eggsGood high end CPU

Pros: It's fast and very powerful at stock speeds. Goes perfect with my R9 270. I had a i5 750 lynnfield chip running my rig before this one, And the temps on the i5 3470 is so much better. I am using just the stock cooler and it idles in the 30's and does not go past 58c under load. The old i5 750 would get past 80c under load. So there is a big improvement in temps with this chip over previous gen i5's. Also the performance of the i5 3470 is a massive improvement over my old i5 750.

Cons: Well I can't think of any big cons except the multiplier being limited to x40, But honestly it is still able to be overclocked decently.

Other Thoughts: Well in my opinion this is the perfect gaming processor. It holds it's own against all other processor's and you never need to take it past stock speed. It is not the fastest or the newest on the market. But it is a very respectable High end processor. And it should satisfy most enthusiasts.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Processor

Pros: I purchased this CPU on a budget. I thought of it as a subsidized Ivy-Bridge ( I7 models). This I5 model is still in fantastic working order, and has been used the entire year without any problems. If your looking for a budget processor, and don't want to the spend the $300+ on a good Ivy-Bridge, this is your CPU.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsFast as light

Pros: This processor is a mighty little guy! I've had it well over a year or so and it has out-performed most of my friends' computers by a looooooooooong shot. It has surplus cache and outstanding performance. Definitely a must for the budget builds, and a keeper for the professionals.

Cons: Heat is a problem, be sure to have sufficient cooling, otherwise this little thing will cook itself quickly.
