OverviewCustomer ReviewSpecificationsProduct Tour
Make the universe submit to your will. It doesn't matter if it's the newest video game or multiple spreadsheets, documents and database files, Intel’s Dual-core Pentium processor can manage it with ease. The two cores run at 1.8GHz each and share 1MB of L2 cache.

Two cores means true multi-tasking and multi-threading. Tasks or threads get their own core, no more sharing one core and set of clock cycles. This lets you turn your system into the ultimate home entertainment center PC. One core can play a DVD on the TV, the second sends audio to the kids in another room with no lags or stutters. All this is made easier with Intel’s Digital Media Boost.

Perfect

Pros: This is the perfect inexpensive chip at 6/21/07. Get a 650i or 680i chipset MB. Set the FSB memory clock to "Unlinked" in the BIOS. Then set the FSB (QDR) to 1332 MHz. Save and exit. You are now running at 3.0 GHz (with stock fan) and smoking almost every non OC out right now. It stays cool. Runing Orthos, it hit 47 degrees. Nothing can touch it for the price.
Cons: I didn't buy two?
Other Thoughts: If you are running this at stock speed, why? Don't complain it doesn't multi-task well. It totally rocks. I'm buying another one with a 650i and the same GSkill F2-6400CL4D-2GBHK that runs flippin fast. If you've never OC'd and you're cheap like me, you won't find a better chip. Just get Nvidia 650i or 680i chipset and you'll be hardcore in an instant.

Pros: Price to performance ratio is outstanding!

Super Pi calculate 1mb
1.8Ghz “default” 33 seconds
2.4Ghz 266x9 24 seconds
2.8Ghz 311x9 21 seconds

In comparison, my E6300 calculates 1mb of Pi in 28 seconds at it’s default frequency, 1.86Ghz

Runs all my games as well as my E6300! Yields

I could probably go higher, but at 2.8, I'm more than satisfied. It does this on default voltage. Idles at 32C and load temp during Prime 95 is 50C. I couldn't be more pleased.
Cons: It has none to speak of.
Other Thoughts: This is an outstanding bargain-basement processor for gaming! Compares with my more expensive main gaming rig that has far more expensive parts in it. It defies logic! If you're on a budget or simply frugal, you won't be disappointed with this processor!

I hope that you found my review helpful.

awesome

Pros: I ran this processor with the stock cooling at 3.2ghz for a year straight. (gigabyte p-35)

333
1.55v

If you're looking for a budget gaming machine these allendales are a good choice, but you can't skimp on the motherboard.

If you need a system for more entensive work, I'd spend a bit more for a core 2 duo.

For instance, 100fps in COD4... shoddy experiences in Lightroom managing medium sized catalogues.
Cons: Dated

Pros: Do not know how it works stock, since I set at 9x333 (3ghz) @ 1.34volt prior to installing the OS. Matched perfectly with my HD 4850, and plays all of my games at high setting without issue. All for only 70 bucks.
Cons: Not really a con since this is obvious. The stock HSF blows. But I guess at stock 1.8ghz speeds it might be okay. I quickly replaced with a CF900, but like I said before not really a con since I knew this going in.
Other Thoughts: I can hit 8x400 (3.2ghz), but 3ghz is okay for now. Idle/load temps are 36/60, since I still have the speedstep enabled so it runs 6x333 (2ghz) at idle.

Pros: Bought this for my new build since I was on a pretty low budget. I would recommend this to anyone who is doing a budget build. I have read reviews saying that this CPU was hit 3Ghz with the stock cooler, but I haven't tried it yet. I have only tried up to 2.4Ghz and I'm sure I can push it harder.
Cons: None that I can think of
Other Thoughts: Newegg is great, fast shipping!

Highlights

newegg Specialized Dual-Core Microarchitecture
The Intel Pentium Dual-Core processor includes two complete cores in a single processor to enable execution of parallel threads or applications on separate cores with dedicated CPU resources. The results enable outstanding dual-core performance and greater system response when running multi-threaded or multiple demanding applications simultaneously.
newegg Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology (EIST)
EIST allows the system to dynamically adjust processor voltage and core frequency to decrease average power consumption and average heat production. Combined with existing power saving features, EIST may provide an excellent balance between providing power when you need it and conserving power when you don’t.
newegg Intel Extended Memory 64 Technology (Intel EM64T)
Enhances next-generation IA-32 platforms with 64-bit addressability and related instructions, allowing flexibility for both 64-bit and 32-bit applications and operating systems.
newegg Execute Disable Bit (EDB)
Intel's Execute Disable Bit function can prevent certain classes of malicious "buffer overflow" attacks when combined with a supporting operating system. Execute Disable Bit allows the processor to classify areas in memory where application code can execute and where it cannot. When a malicious worm attempts to insert code in the buffer, the processor disables code execution, preventing damage or worm propagation.
