With the Wolfdale core, Intel pours more power into the Pentium package. The 45nm process allows Intel to reduce power requirements to 65W. Lower power means less CPU heat, which translates to lower system heat and longer system life. They also pack more features into the chip.
The L2 cache has been bumped to 2MB and the Front Side Bus has been pushed to 800MHz. You can now use both DDR2 and the hot new DDR3 memory for extreme performance. They also boosted memory access and execution speed with Wide Dynamic Execution and Smart Memory Access. These technologies work together to let the processor handle more instructions with more data per clock cycle. You'd better watch out -- your enemies will be shooting back faster now!
The Advanced Digital Media Boost feature has been enhanced with the addition of the SSE4 instruction set and Intel HD Boost, to give your entertainment experience better audio and video processing. It will also help with speech recognition, engineering and scientific applications. Most important of all is the enhanced security that comes with increased speed and encryption power.
Specialized Dual-core Microarchitecture The Intel Pentium processor includes dual execution cores in a single processor to enable execution of parallel threads or applications simultaneously, resulting in revolutionary dual-core performance, breakthrough energy efficiency and exceptional system response time when running multi-threaded applications, or multiple demanding applications. The innovative 45nm fabrication technology optimizes thermal performance for reduced power consumption and noise.
Intel Advanced Smart Cache Intel Advanced Smart Cache Technology dynamically allocates the shared L2 cache to each processor core based on workload. This efficient, multi-core-optimized implementation increases the probability that each core can access data from the fast L2 cache, resulting in significantly reduced latency for frequently used data and overall improved performance.
Intel Extended Memory 64 Technology (Intel EM64T) Intel EM64T provides an enhancement to Intel 32-bit architecture by enabling the mobile processor platform to access larger amounts of memory. With appropriate 64-bit hardware and software, platforms based on an Intel processor supporting Intel EM64T can enable use of extended virtual and physical memory.
Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology (EIST) EIST allows the system to dynamically adjust processor voltage and core frequency to decrease the average power consumption and heat production. Combined with existing power saving features, EIST provides an excellent balance between supplying power when you need it and conserving power when you don’t.
Execute Disable Bit (EDB) Intel's Execute Disable Bit function can prevent certain classes of malicious "buffer overflow" attacks when combined with a supporting operating system. Execute Disable Bit allows the processor to classify areas of the memory where application code can execute and where it cannot. When a malicious worm attempts to insert code into the buffer, the processor disables code execution, preventing damage or worm propagation.
Cons: took some wrestling to get the heat sink and fan attached only two cores
Other Thoughts: worked great out of the box default setup at 266 * 13 + 0.5 for 3.5+ GHz overclocked it to 300 * 13 + 0.5 for 4 + GHz still runs cool around 40 C
was able to get it to 100% usage streaming a video and installing a program at the same time, not to hard

Rating: 4/5Budget Processor
Pros: -Low price -Includes Fan & Heatsink
Cons: The plastic pins on the fan that snap into the motherboard feel flimzy. It took a few minutes and a lot of wiggling to get them in there right.
Other Thoughts: Overall, good processor for budget machines.

Rating: 5/5Good CPU
Pros: Fast and cheap; runs relatively cool. I picked up one of these to upgrade from the Celeron in my HP Home Server and it runs cool, even with the relatively small heat sink (no attached fan) in that box. Dual core makes a big difference over the Celeron and it handles everything I've thrown at it.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: Shop around before buying one of these. You can often get a little faster clock speed for the same price or a tiny bit more.

Rating: 5/5Excellent workhorse chip
Pros: Excellent workhorse chip. I bought one last year to use in my HTPC. It provides more than enough power for any media needs. I just bought two more, one from another HTPC I'm building and one for a Media Server. Great value for the money
Cons: None that I can think of.

Rating: 5/5Great Upgrade
Pros: This processor is great, I upgraded from the 2.2GHz Dual Core where I was struggling a bit with my gaming. Put the Wolfdale in and now I am playing BC2 on high settings with virtually zero lag. Nice upgrade overall.
Cons: None

Rating: 5/5Great Proc
Pros: -Runs most games (BC2, Metro 2033) very well -OC'ed to 3.2ghz -Doesn't get above 50 celsius on full load after OC
Cons: -older architecture
Other Thoughts: Great processor for the money, the 775 chips have yet to let me down for price, reliability, and OC. I did not use the stock fan so I'm not sure how good that works. I have a Zalman + Arctic Silver cooling it.

Pros: I've purchased dozens of the E5xxx DC's. I've never received a DOA cpu from Newegg. These cpus are the best bang for the buck that Intel has to offer. I'm running WXP Pro on an ASUS P5KPL-CM, 4G PC2-6400 and a E5200 on my personal machine. ZERO problems. Cheap and dirty... and runs like a hotrod with no OC. Why bother?
Cons: I am an Intel kind of person, so don't let it take away from the CPU, but I think we deserve a better fan. I bought a Thermaltake something or other (it had the mobo backplate with screws n'all), great improvement.
