5 out of 5 eggsLast great Pentium 4

Pros: Highest clock speed in class
800 MHz FSB
Good overclocker
Hyper threading boosts performance
Excellent lifespan, four years and still kicking!
Fairly low power consumption
Highly reliable

Cons: Relatively high heat output;
Non standard heatsink recommended.
Single core only

Other Thoughts: I have now been running my primary machine for nearly five years using this CPU. Paired with four gigs of RAM, an ATI Radeon 4670 HD. and some mild overclocking it has proven itself capable of running fairly modern games with ease, powers through office software without any issues.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Single Core

Pros: Includes Intel Hyper threading. Can increase system performance up to about 30 percent vs non-hyper threaded. Max temp is rated around 70c. Mine runs about 50c under load.

Cons: Dual cores with same TDP with better performance out. But hey if your looking at buying it your board probaly only supports single core

Other Thoughts: Great upgrade from even a 3.06 ghz P4. Improves response time and feels much smother. If you are upgrading an older board consider reapplying thermal compound to the NB as mine had virtually melted away.
