3 out of 5 eggsGoing, going, nope, still slow.

Pros: This chip is for office work ONLY! the low cache will not let it take on large tasks such as games and multimedia work.

Cons: For all you newbie builders out there. Just because the mhz rating is 3ghz doesn't mean it's fast. The processing cache's are to low to do much from internet surfing and playing music.

Other Thoughts: If you buy this don't expect it to speed your machine up. The Pentium 4's are getting cheap and have three- four times more power.

Pros: Excellent processor for the non-purist like me.

5 out of 5 eggsCeleron D351

Pros: This cpu is faster than I thought a Celeron would be. Very stable and very quick. I put it in a multimedia system and it performs at the top ranges.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsUnexpectedly Great!

Pros: Excellent and on par with a regular P4, A64, or Core chip. Really low temp, this thing runs with its CPU fan turned off most of the time in a Pundit PH1 case being used as a HTPC! (its a really small case and I expected heat issues)

Cons: Yeah, although its great at one or two tasks at a time, it does have trouble keeping up more than a P4 would, when; im watching tv, encoding to divx, and downloading at the same time. While trying to watch TV, and dowloading, it does those two well but I can no longer burn a DVD properly. Its only the low cache. But for this price I'll live with it just fine, thanks Newegg :)

4 out of 5 eggsTaking one star off for the noise it makes

Pros: cheap(c'mon its a celeron), fastest in the line, can be overclocked

Cons: not for games, very noisy if u use the OEM fan with that comes with the box

Other Thoughts: I own many computers but this one is the first with celeron on it...and its not bad except that it makes a lot of noise. The OEM fan with it is alrite so plan investing a good cooling system(probably something that is low on noise).

I bought it to act as a server for 4 clients..have loaded the system with debian stable...no problems during the installation(i thought it would freeze...turns out...it didn't.)

gaming wouldn't be a problem if u have a dedicated vcard. but overall its a great deal if you plan to use it for basic applications.

5 out of 5 eggsFastest Celeron D

Pros: Can't tell the difference from a Pentium 4 in day-to-day fuctions. This is the fastest Celeron D you can get. Perfect for low end Servers too, which is what I used it for.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Could also be used for low-end gaming.. Since it does have a larger L2 cache of 256kb than the original celeron which had only 128K.

5 out of 5 eggsNever thought celeron could be so good

Pros: Easy to install. Cheap!
As fast as a p4 for most users. Internet, email, word processing, media management (music/pictures). Low L2 Cache not an issue for these functions. Runs at 38c idle 45-50load on stock. No need to overclock

Cons: Not a gaming chip. Unless you don't care to run games on really low settings

Other Thoughts: Matched to Kinston 512mb pc3200, gigabyte board 865g chipset with onboard video and 160G Maxtor 7200rpm. Excellent build for workstation or new computer for mom/dad.

3 out of 5 eggsThink twice

Pros: Works adequately

Cons: Price

Other Thoughts: Why buy this when for a dollar more you can get the blazing fast 2000Mhz front side bus AMD Athlon 64 3000 with a total of 640 K on board cache memory. There is no comparison. AMD smokes this CPU!

5 out of 5 eggsgood budget cpu

Pros: this processor is really cheap and is fast for such a lot price point. runs stable over clock at 4.03 ghz.

Cons: only has 256k L2 cache, if your gonna use this for gaming the low cache might bottle neck the cpu, if u can afford it buy a p4 that as a larger cache
